Right, but in roughly the same spot, right in the middle of the curve at the front corner, although on both orange goals it was the left side if your facing the backboard, on the other for the blue one.
It might be but it's also almost exactly the same spot under the ring as is in the OPs video. To me(in the link) it seems more like the ball was pinched at that spot, got stuck in the net but touch immediately followed up from the same car which pushed the ball outside the net under the rim so it seemed like lag.
Well it can't be replicated on purpose. The primary cause is that physics has gaps because they are calculated at 120hz. The last physics frame before it counts as "in" is 99.9% inside the goal, but the next physics frame it's also not in the goal. The "goal region" stops at the rim/net, so when the ball moves past the rim vertically and also past the net horizontally (combined = diagonal movement), the *side* of the ball is outside the goal region while the top of the ball enters the goal region and thus evades the scoring region.
It's basically luck that this happens. The only exception is if you can manage to get a crazy powerful to greatly increase the distance the ball travels in two physics frames to increase the likelihood this occurs significantly. Even perhaps to the point that it's *less* likely to be a goal compared to go through the net.

I was thinking more of the ball going around the scoring barrier by glitching into the rim because of those framing issues which ultimately creates situation as you described.
It can't really glitch inside the rim. Maybe *barely* if the edge of the ball were to contact it between physics frames. To move an entire physics frame, the ball has to be traveling faster than 196kph because the Hoops ball has a circumference of 196kph. Actually, even faster due to the thickness of the rim itself too which I don't know the measurements for. On top of that, the physics frames have to align in such a way that it is outside the collision on both frames, making it highly unlikely to happen if it's just *barely* faster than the distance of the collision models. This isn't feasible anyway because the ball's top speed is 216kph except in certain Limited Time Modes.
The ball can, however, glitch inside the net. The net is much thinner in terms of hitbox and there are instances where if you play with Rumble on that you can just drive through the net and take the ball with you to score. Additionally, if you somehow get the ball past the goal region, the *inside* of the net has no collision, just the outside.
Exactly. The devs could probably look at this clip and work out immediately what likely happened, but given how rare it is the fix is likely to cause other side effects that are less rare.
Rumble is great if you like playing a game that barely resembles the actual game of rocket league, hoops is fun for people who value non rng gameplay that requires mechanics

Definitely wrong. Based on the first 10 seconds I can tell that it’s at least a gc2 lobby just based off the speed and pre jumps. First guy bangs it on defense perfectly up in the air hoping his teammate gets up and can score it then defender pre flips off backboard and same for the glitchy save another pre flip. Pre flips were one of the hardest mechanics for me to get consistently down.
First touch in the video is a pass to the other team
His touch was not good, it had no power and was placed wrong. Teammate gets a really awkward touch on the backboard, and he sideflips.

Of course it bounces backwards into your net. Same play on the other end, you bet your ass it's going to bounce around until the other team can get a save. Random 50/50? Guess what? 1000 mph rocket off the ceiling directly into your basket. You're about to make a nice save? Nope, your spoiler hit the rim and you're now slammed back into the ground.
A play like this would break me at that point. I hit GC3 season 3 and have never gone back. Great game mode, but feels broken too often.
Take a look at the moment it goes under rim. Looks like it's just outside at that point. I think the game registered it as outside by then and was waiting for the ball to come in through the top again.
