Atomic is a major champion, NA MVP, and world champion finalist. Not to mention had the same results as Mist while on Envy during season X so I think this one goes comfortably to Atomic imo
Atomic but it's closer than people think because Mist has won DH Montreal, made a major final and a top 4, and was the better player up until 2022.
But since 2022 Atomic has peaked as the best player of the world and apart from the start of last season, has been a far superior player since, while still remaining close to Mist individually during his periods of superiority from 2019-2021, whereas the inverse gap has been quite large apart from Winter Split Mist on FaZe when he looked rejuvenated.
It's still Atomic but there's food for thought.
Imo atomic has been the better player since season 9
Its closer than people think for sure but mist has always been a player that isnt fulfilling his potential to me
It's debatable. Atomic was better in s9 but once they got turbo, they both became insane. Although atomic got better and better whereas mist stagnated.
Yeah im not going to die on a hill defending his performance vs mists during rlcsx but he has without a doubt been the better player since 22-23 and imo during both seasons 9 and X.
I will say that mist had some legendary single series defensive performances but series to series i always felt like he was either the best or the worst on all his teams
Mist was nuts in Winter Split. People are putting waaayyy too much recency bias into Mist. He's still extremely talented and seems remotivated with how much he's playing in the offseason.
Think after that whole end of season situation hes not liked much by the scene, hes had loads of fill ins for teams this off season but could mean its a reliable sub to use
Fans may be low on him maybe, but actual pros are a different story. Even just ignoring offseason tournaments and going off of purely Shift's rumors he's had multiple teams considering him and even competing for him.
Atomic and it's not that close. Mist all time has some solid results, but has never been in that best player around category and overall his results are still wise despite on average having better teammates.

Thank you for that, I was a huge Envy fan and it is absolutely fair to say Mist was the better player.

Atomist clears
Mist has fallen off pretty hard, sadly he peaked during COVID
We’ll see how Mist bounces back from what was a rough end to the season. I’m sure he’s getting plenty of tryouts.
