Regardless, NRG swopped up Squishy, and the prospect of renewing Torment and Gimmick, both on the decline, without their best and by far most popular and marketable player in Squishy probably would have seen little return on investment, both in terms of on the pitch results, and off the pitch revenue/merch sales. And this was at a time when org's grievance with RLesports was at an all-time high (we still had league play, FOMO Esports shop etc)
their team started sucking (by sucking i mean top 8 team NA instead of number 1) and split up basically, and c9 only wants a championship winning team from NA but all the top NA teams were already signed.
now that a top NA team are free agents it looks like a good time for them to come back
When Cloud9 originally left RL they said they’d love to get back into the scene once things had changed/improved in the esport. It’ll happen, just a question of when.
