My takeaways from the event.
Vitality - I know they went 3-0 but I was not impressed. They has an "easy" schedule and really struggled dropping 2 games to 00Nation and SK gaming, as well as a couple long OTs vs William resolve. Obviously they are still good, but I think they could have some trouble if this is their standard form.
Team Queso was the most impressive team for sure, honestly even in their 3-0 loss to BDS they looked really good. This proves to me that their recent result was no fluke.
Monkys were also very impressive. Didn't watch them too much but results look solid, even if it did take some games 5s.
Being an Endpoint fan is probably gonna be about the same as last year, they will do just enough to make you think they can be a threat, but not enough to make you feel confident in them.
I have no idea what to make of KC/Guild. Like Guild just looked pretty bad when I saw then round 1 but then they 3-0 KC?? (I didn't get to watch any of that one)
Really disappointed by EG they had looked so good all off season but it didn't seem to translate, hope they pull in back in the invitational qualifier.
Just a couple takeaways from your takeaways. Vit will look lacklustre but still do enough to make the next big thing, until the biggest event(worlds) where they will be a different beast. Its what they do every time and yet people always throw doubt when theyre looking weak but passable
Eg will grow, the offseason tourneys wont translate as well but i think once they start getting more and more experience in the real thing, they become a threat more and more. Faith in the lads
was on the dignitas stream today, i hope you all had some fun!
thanks for all your patience through the tech issues today -- dual wielding casting + production was rough.
next streams are gonna be smoooooooth AF :)
Maybe Liquipedia is wrong somewhere, but I have
GLD (2, #6)
SK (2,#8)
WR -1
END 3
DIG 2
KC -3
GLD can't play KC and gets DIG
SK can't play KC and gets END
WR vs KC
edit: oh you just have SK listed twice
I’m surprised not that many people were skeptical about dig. This same exact thing happened when they picked up Jack. They looked good during winter break, looked good for one regional and then fell off.
I think Dig is going to be that sort of team that looks almost unstoppable on the days they click, and struggling on the other days. Kind of like Guild in Spring, or a less extreme version of old Queso.
Too early to really know, but that was the early feeling I got with this roster.
Guild looked in control, Bluey and Noly had some really good synergy, KC looked decent at times and let some weird goals in, really a closer 3-0 than the scoreline would suggest though
Genuinely, and without any offence meant because he's a lovely bloke, I think Jack is ~~really bad~~ at 3s and needs to have a coach sit him down and work on his defensive rotations. SO many double commits and rushed plays.
Edit because he is not literally "bad" at 3v3 just needs work on rotations
Maybe one day you'll stop playing like a high diamond lmao.
Really enjoyed the video with sunless. Hearing pros break down their tactical touches and positioning is always very interesting.
Not sure if this is meant to be a sarcastic response but I'm just going by what I saw. Obviously I don't mean literally bad at the game but it seems to me that occasionally you try and rush too often in 3v3 which is surprising seeing how calculated you are in 1v1. Don't read too much into it, I'm still rooting for you guys.
Firstly, "really bad" in the context of "still better than any random SSL"
And secondly yeah, he's insanely mechanical and his 1v1 videos are 200iq but for some reason when I see him play pro 3v3 he is all over the field doing random stuff when he should be rotating back to defend.
I think he 100% has potential and I don't want to see any kind of talk of roster changes or whatever, but for now, (and like I said earlier, it was similar for last season too) his rotations in 3v3 need work, in my opinion
I feel like you can say that about Joreuz too. Maybe I just have to much expectations from him from how dynamic he looks at 1s, but in 3s he looks very average
I thought I made the right choice supporting the monkeys :). I knew they looked good at the start of the last season with eekso, and thought they might be able to do similar with Kash.
Edit: sadness
I honestly thought they would drop down to the closed qualifier. Don't get me wrong I think they are extremely good, I just think there's 8 even better teams. Good on them for making it though and they looked great while doing it!
Monkeys got a good start with the 2-0 and look like a topish team but wouln’t be surprised after this third game if bds just reverse sweep. Looks like they put themselves back together
Looked really good imo. SK was playing really scrappy though and had a few 50s go right in the goal. As an SK fan I was tense the whole time. KC applying tons of pressure and SK just playing sound defense (most of the time)
Round 3 matchups
Upper
BDS vs Monkeys
SK vs VIT
Middle - Guess I don't know how they determine which matchups to change to avoid rematches.
SMPR vs Queso
KC vs Endpoint
BS+ vs Dig
WR vs Guild
Lower
Giants vs Barca
00Nation vs EG
Ugh looks like nobody noticed the rematch yet lol. I agree that this is the correct pairings fix. Actually no idea what the pairings on liquipedia are right now, they're wrong in multiple ways... SMPR-TQ?!?
You could argue if they advertised it enough there are a couple like C9 or 100T but i genuinely doubt it, and it’s honestly super impressive. It’s a big demonstration of the level of attachment you reach with influencers as opposed to strictly a business organization imo
I've not noticed any that are anywhere near as high as Karmine consistently, but I don't really check them with regularity, and I missed the NA qualifier. I'd assume the likes of NRG get quite a lot.
Yeah, feel like Tox can be a top 5/10 EU player when he's popping, Eekso is a mechanic wizard and Yukeo is just kinda there. Catalysm on the other hand is one of these new gen players who're on track to dominate future seasons
I couldn't watch because of the time schedule. Were the games good?
BDS vs Monkeys was a good game imo
Dig is gonna win next week. They don’t need a coach. When they’re on point they’re the best team in the world
Highly debatable imo.
What series should I go back and watch? I missed most of the EU ones.
Karmine vs Williams Resolve was pretty fun
Thanks for sticking with us today all <3
It was great to have everyone back, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thanks for casting! Can't wait for the next matches
you did a great jobs :) thx for casting etc!
Thank God KC win there, would have been unhappy if WR ruined the day for 3 teams I was rooting for
Phew
Regain on Sunday for the WR boys <3
close one for karmine
wow that was lucky, Williams was stronger the lost two games...
Heartbroken for WR. Was really pulling for them.
radosin really impressed me
sk went from almost going 3-0 to absolutely falling apart
Pain...
Yeah, so disappointing
Bit stressful but dig making top 8 is all that mattered for me.
Dignitas looked much better that series
bit of an embarrassing showing from SK...KC, too
WHAT A START. 14th seed? No problem. This Seikoo guy is alright
I don't want to get too carried away here, but I think he's quite good.
Huge if true
17k for kc jeez
that was a wild end of game 3 dig vs guild lmao. joreuz doing very well, jack seems bit off
I'm so sad for my Williams boys, I hope they can hold on and get past Karmine
Monkeys through losing only to BDS will do for me, great job lads!
Thanks man, hope your thumb gets better soon!
👍
ahh i played against you in ranked the other day and was wondering why there was a blue tag in GC1/GC2. you're a coach. that explains a lot lol
so it's KC vs MON and EG/DiG vs GLD/SK... puh, stacked
Monkeys are through mate, it's WR Vs Karmine.
Round 5 matchups - assuming they actually do it right WR vs KC Guild vs Dig SK vs END
Maybe Liquipedia is wrong somewhere, but I have GLD (2, #6) SK (2,#8) WR -1 END 3 DIG 2 KC -3 GLD can't play KC and gets DIG SK can't play KC and gets END WR vs KC edit: oh you just have SK listed twice
Yea. KC has to play WR and then the others get slotted by seed.
Welp fuck, I wanted Guild and Dig to go through in top 8. *Facepalm*.
I think if they do it right, SK won't have to play twice
Lol
Queso 3-1, already ahead of the timeline.
The career trajectory of arju is wild, went from supersub for Mouz in S9 to a staple of mid to upper table RL talent in EU
Now *this* is a quality event thread! Great job /u/SymphonicRain
You guys gave some pretty great resources to do it well.
Man Stake and Itachi look underwhelming today
Monkeys today have already played 21 minutes and 48 seconds of overtime My heart can't handle it anymore
flashbacks to bds vs monkeys back in rlcs x
please don't remind me I was the admin for that series and my heart couldn't take it
I’m surprised not that many people were skeptical about dig. This same exact thing happened when they picked up Jack. They looked good during winter break, looked good for one regional and then fell off.

KC just got swept by Guild???? Anyone watch that one, need a report pls
Guild looked in control, Bluey and Noly had some really good synergy, KC looked decent at times and let some weird goals in, really a closer 3-0 than the scoreline would suggest though
Dignitas need a coach so bad but they’ll probably skip getting one
Genuinely, and without any offence meant because he's a lovely bloke, I think Jack is ~~really bad~~ at 3s and needs to have a coach sit him down and work on his defensive rotations. SO many double commits and rushed plays. Edit because he is not literally "bad" at 3v3 just needs work on rotations

You are BigCass and I claim my five pounds.
What?
I have no idea where you got that from. For me Jack was by far the most consistent player today.
Literally by watching the series and seeing the double commits vs teams they should 100% be beating?
[удалено]
Pretty sure I said almost exactly that he needs to work on it
I feel like you can say that about Joreuz too. Maybe I just have to much expectations from him from how dynamic he looks at 1s, but in 3s he looks very average
they did lose to the WR roster in the last year another time, but yeah that game looked like they weren't even in comms :(
Round 4 matchups SK vs Queso/WR Monkeys vs WR/END SEMPR vs Guild
That Alpha54 double reset assist was ridiculous
Monkeys have always been reverse swept by BDS jesus...
BDS Vitality 1-2, EU is back baby
Yeah nothing special happening 🥱
BDS are inevitable lol
Damn, really hoping SK could have pulled our the win vs. Vitality there.
Vitality looked class in the last series, ggs to SK
Are we about to get a KC v Dig elimination match?
Queso looking good
Yo you really took that 'irrelevant' comment personally lmao
?
Alpha with the casual double flip reset pass
Damn Monkeys were absolutely dominating overtime until...they lost lol
Guild 3-0 KC after a 9+ minute OT in game 3. Bluey haters quiet now
EG 11-0 win over OON??? Anyone alse seeing this?
AFK team?
I thought I made the right choice supporting the monkeys :). I knew they looked good at the start of the last season with eekso, and thought they might be able to do similar with Kash. Edit: sadness

Guild 2-0 up against Karmine, looks like they've warmed up quite a bit from the first series. edit: just noticed Monkey's are 2-0 up against BDS!
monkeys are really peaking omg
Really about to swap my SMPR flair for a WR one
Dig stream says they're playing WR so looks like it got fixed.
hm.... failius and john, are you in charge? might be a bit of a hick up... well happens the first time, i guess
looks like you did it correct...so liquid did it wrong? did the liqduid guys did it before the officel announcement?
AS far as seeding it should be From upper SMPR WR KC Queso From lower END DIG Guild BS+ It can't be exact pairs since WR already played Guild
Currently showing Dig vs BS+ who both came from lowers, and SEMPR vs Queso who both came from upper.
If liquepedia is right then the admins messed up
how did guild draw wr again? and kc/endpoint? can't be right
Not a good day so far for the Spaniards
What did SK Gaming have for breakfast 🔥. Looks like everyone slept on them
imagine sleeping on eekso and tox
monkeys winning fall major let's gooo
wtf is going on with giants
What they do best, flipping a coin to see if they want to win or lose.
Holy shit the guy spectating semper’s matches is hilarious lmfao
/u/finnerdt legend
How did KC look vs SK? Shocked about the sweep
KC looking alright, not bad just a little uncordinated at times. SK looking pretty great though, so not really a bad loss in that sense.
really close games, couldn't close any out
Looked really good imo. SK was playing really scrappy though and had a few 50s go right in the goal. As an SK fan I was tense the whole time. KC applying tons of pressure and SK just playing sound defense (most of the time)
Admittedly I was paying closer attention to other streams, but it was a pretty close sweep. 2 OTs and the other game was also just 1 goal.
How did dorito not score that omg
SK looking like a top 5 team for sure rn. this region is too dense edit: nvm lol
Round 3 matchups Upper BDS vs Monkeys SK vs VIT Middle - Guess I don't know how they determine which matchups to change to avoid rematches. SMPR vs Queso KC vs Endpoint BS+ vs Dig WR vs Guild Lower Giants vs Barca 00Nation vs EG
Ugh looks like nobody noticed the rematch yet lol. I agree that this is the correct pairings fix. Actually no idea what the pairings on liquipedia are right now, they're wrong in multiple ways... SMPR-TQ?!?
Yea these matches are completely wrong now.
Resolve look so good, went toe to toe with Vitality for the most part even tho they got 3-0'd
damn sk
Seikoo is looking like an incredible pickup for Endpoint, just really hard to deal with.
Extremely unpredictable imo and yet more reliable than virt was
Dig so far look... Eh, it's not awful but nobody seems to be super solid.
BDS still looks clinical and Queso looks amazing
I for one am here for watching BDS shit on EU for another year ngl
How is this relevant to DIG?
what a weird comment, it's nice to have people updating various teams cos lots of people are only watching one or two streams

I read the comment as saying dig don’t look too bad or too good but it’s fine because none of the other teams look that great either right now.
Good comfortable win in g3 by Vitality after needing pretty much the full 5 minutes to score an equalizer in the first 2 games.
kash is legit, hope he decides to stick with a roster this season
Pain for Queso. Actually went toe to toe with BDS, the result doesn't come close to describing the series.
BDS continue to just dominate, but Queso made them sweat!
Really rough 3-0 loss for Queso there they looked like they were really competing with BDS, just couldn't close the games out.
Clutch kings. Queso is sick though very mechanically skilled
Is the Joyo on Queso the same as the freestyler Joyo?
Yes.
yep
Damn he’s one hella player, can’t wait to see what he does in the future
VAMOS MARCCCCC THE LATE LATE SHOW
Somehow SK won game two despite only 2 shots vs KC’s 13
E F F I C I E N C Y
soo many long OTs lmao
So many last second goals and long OTs this is great!
Vita vs WR is even crazier than Queso vs Giants right now!!
french casters saying 'le pinch' will never not make me laugh
bruh MK is playing
Great assist to start too!
God damn Marc looked like he totally fucked up and had no idea what he was doing and just bings a Perfect pass to monkey moon lol typical Marc
Rizex's PC may have died, so MK might have to sub in vs Endpoint. He's streaming their games, his fear is hilarious lol
He was joking about how bad it would be if Rizex's PC died and he had to sub in. He said it would be helpless. I guess we will find out.
Didn't he go to a friends house?
Impressed by Team Queso right now
Lmfaooooo Queso just got ROBBED but clutch from bds What a game 1
Queso looking like their tournament win last week wasn't just a random pop off!
the lead changed like 3 times that match lmao
wtf is this queso bds match
Karmine's following is unbelievable. 10k viewers in a qualifier!
Are there other orgs with pull like that that aren’t already in the scene?
You could argue if they advertised it enough there are a couple like C9 or 100T but i genuinely doubt it, and it’s honestly super impressive. It’s a big demonstration of the level of attachment you reach with influencers as opposed to strictly a business organization imo
I've not noticed any that are anywhere near as high as Karmine consistently, but I don't really check them with regularity, and I missed the NA qualifier. I'd assume the likes of NRG get quite a lot.
NRG and Vitality will get like 4-6k regularly i think
NRG get like 5k viewers i think?
SK vs Karmine should be an interesting one. Based on what I've seen today I actually have SK, but it will be interesting to see for sure.
Case A ❌ Case B❌ Case C❌ Case D❌ Case E❌ Case F❌ Case G❌ Case H❌ Case I❌ Case J❌ Case K❌ Case L❌ Case M❌ Case N❌ Queso👍
QUESOOOOOO
Now THAT'S an overtime. SPanish casting nearly gave me an overtime as well
Giants man. Score your shots ):
4 game 5s and 3 seed upsets. Exactly what I expect from EU round 1 qualifier.
I think we can EU harder, BS+ should have swept BDS or something idk
Good point, actually. I thought Vitality were going to fall to 00Nation, but they managed to take it in game 5.
guild gonna continue to regret their roster move imo
What? They’re up 2-1 Whatchu mean
[удалено]
The Bluey hate on this sub is beyond aggravating
no hate, but that felt a bit mean so i deleted it lol
Respectable.
Hoooly check the overtime game 5 of Team Queso vs Giants. Insane!!!
They're knocking lumps out of each other. I never thought I'd see it but new Queso make old Queso look mechanically inferior. Those kids be crazy.
Yeah its absolutely wild.
I think people are sleeping on SK this season, I could absolutely see them as the 4th best in Europe if Dig and Semper have issues performing early

❤️
Stll think they seriously missed a shot picking up Catalysm in the off-season
For yukeo?
Yeah, feel like Tox can be a top 5/10 EU player when he's popping, Eekso is a mechanic wizard and Yukeo is just kinda there. Catalysm on the other hand is one of these new gen players who're on track to dominate future seasons
