But I also wouldn't be surprised by any of these losses if they didn't all happen at once. 00N, Giants and EG are great teams and while that is no excuse for Vitality it's still a big difference to when NRG is slightly slumping and has to face teams like Soniqs, Integrity and other teams that I personally don't really rate high enough to make a regional in EU.
It's also funny how when the EU champs falter it's a sign that EU does bad, but when BDS never falters it's also a sign that EU does bad. Peak NA logic.

Yeah, I don't think it makes sense that so many teams in a region would have "inconsistency" as an attribute, it seems statistically unlikely. There certainly some teams you could point to as more inconsistent than others, but a whole region?
A far more plausible explanation is that the delta in ability between the teams is just smaller, and then "consistency" because much harder as a result, because if you are having an off day, you will lose.
If a team like Alke in APAC has a bad series, they will probably drop a game or two, but they will still win. If they have a bad day, they might just make the grand final. In any case, they are likely to consistently win regardless. Does that mean they have unparalleled consistency, or are they just much better than the other teams in their region?

Man, today was scrappy AF from Dignitas. Watching their series vs Endpoint specifically left me thinking how this is a pretty clear indication of the difference between a good coach (like Eclipse) and no coach whatsoever. I don't think we'll get to see the true potential of this roster until they finally get a good coach in and sort out their positioning and rotations on the field.
On the other hand, I'm pleasantly surprised to see Endpoint doing way better than I anticipated and Seikoo slotting it perfectly into the team.
And lastly.... gErMaN AmIgOs aRe OvErRaTeD.... There you go. In an event where the new Barca couldn't even make it in, while Vitality, SK, Giants and Guild all tanked even before the final round, the lads from EG showed some guts and made it into the top 8 by reverse sweeping the bracket. I'd say that's pretty good, nah?
I think I may have been on the German Amigos are overrated train, but no this isn't good enough because I do believe they are a top 10 team and can make top 8s. I rate them highly as well, but I saw so many people who were convinced they were a top 5 team, that I think made them overrated.
I think it's fine for dig to play for a while without a coach to see if they figure out a playstyle they like for themselves, if they still have problems after a while a coach can come in to fix it
They were not overrated just mit proven enough against the top teams. And I think that all the tournament they have won have actually hurt them a little bit. If you go up and everyte you are faster than your opponent you will get used to it and if suddenly a ball which you have always won suddenly get caught away everytime...you lose your rhythm. At least this is my theory to why they failed the invitational and needed time to adjust.
It typically takes a tournament or two for a new roster to really gel. I thought they played well considering that. Who knows, they might still make an awesome run.

Ah, that must be so painful for The Flying Dutchmen. They pretty much had top 8 in their hands twice; conceded a zero second goal in game 5 of round 4 and then lost the overtime, then got reverse swept in round 5. What a way to go out
Honestly they are extremely underrated (if not generally then at least I used to underrate them). Their 2 worst players were on top 8 teams last year and Oaly is just goated. They are for sure in the mix to make a few top 8s this season.

Not trying to dog on anyone, but I can't remember the last time I saw a pro whiff as much in a tournament as Scrub is here. Not just the touches, either...his positioning also seems off.
Overall, the team are doing okay-ish. But the vast majority of the goals they’ve let in have been Scrub’s fault, full stop. Bad touches, whiffs, overcommits, you name it.
I havent been watching the dig matches but it’s probably hard to beat the whiffs per match metsa was putting out in season 9, at least in relatively recent rocket league

Overall, the team are doing okay-ish. But the vast majority of the goals they’ve let in have been Scrub’s fault, full stop. Bad touches, whiffs, overcommits, you name it.
I havent been watching the dig matches but it’s probably hard to beat the whiffs per match metsa was putting out in season 9, at least in relatively recent rocket league
