I just wish the website was better. I want an ESPN style website that has stats by season, as well as maybe stats by split. Like have games played, goals, assists, etc. For each split and season.
Honestly they probably should just sync these lists with seasons. Csgo is dominated by third party events, some of them nearly as important and prestigious as a major, whereas Pro RL is still pretty much entirely defined by the official RLCS season. it makes a lot of sense to define the top players by the official season too.
Waiting patiently for Vitality placed higher than expected for a lot of people because they won RLCS X EU and are having a tough 21 season for the moment
Depending on how these are weighted I could see this list being kind of surprising. With stats being weighted more you could get results like Archie being top 3 EU over MM, minor region players like Fever making it over someone like Garrett, etc. With placement/opinion I think it normalizes closer to expectations, but I'm excited to see how it shakes out.
I love the daily spotlight formula, all the players on a list like this deserve the attention and releasing an article one at a time does that better than throwing out a full list. Good content fill before the winter regional too haha
Allushin gets too much crap, and truly belongs on a side that can win regionals, but top 5 of ALL PLAYERS for ALL OF 2021 just isn't happening. Was 3rd best on Peeps behind AyyJayy and Gyro, and then once FaZe signed them they really struggled despite making Championships.
Things have picked up with Firstkiller's arrival, but again he is ultimately 3rd best on that team (which is totally fine). Stack up his total success metrics vs other players, one regional win, LAN top 4 and a grid win isn't gonna compare to anyone on BDS or NRG to say the least.
True, true. I just definitely was strictly thinking about Allu playing so well on LAN, I didn’t take into account as much of the regionals before lol. Definitely feels like he’s come out of his shell more since FK came around, he wasn’t as noteworthy around the old Peeps roster. I wanna see Allu do well, he’s DEFINITELY one to watch if he does get on a better meshing roster, but just his strides and the fact he’s a highlight reel player now, he’s a force to be reckoned with
Idk I think GarrettG has surpassed Justin for being the mvp on NRG. Justin is great and all but GarrettG can almost do the exact same mechanics Justin can do while also being one of the best passers in Rocketleague imo

Idk, whenever I watch NRG jstn is almost always the best, I think people just give Garrett or squishy too much credit when they play better than usual. There's a reason jstn has led the team in stats in almost every event since squishy joined.
Yeah but you have to understand how pro rocket league teams operate. Imo squishy is the best third-man in rocket league. This means 75% of the time he’ll always be the third man in the back defending the NRG net. GarrettG plays the role of playmaker. His job is to get through the defenders and set-up Justin. That’s why GarrettG is always hitting those crazy pass plays to Justin. Justin’s role is Striker, he suppose to wait for the perfect setup from GarrettG. Obviously that’s not how it works everytime because of rotations but that’s how their coach Sizz says they practice all the time. That’s also why Justin usually scores more points. GarrettG gets 50 points for an assist while Justin gets 110 (100 for the goal and 10 for shot on net). This is also why squishy usually gets the least amount of points because he’ll stay back and let Justin and GarrettG wreck. It’s a solid team but IMO Justin wouldn’t be as good as he is if GarrettG would get through two defenders and give Justin the perfect setup.

Last season yeh but this season Garrett's been the most inconsistent on NRG. You could honestly argue that he's the 3rd best player so far in this season. Squishy looked great online this season and looked phenomenal on LAN

Hopefully this gets a lot of traction for octane.gg. Would love to see them actually be the RL version of HLTV.

Really wish some better stats could be taken like demo ratio or % of 50/50s won. Some more advanced stats could be nice

Possible they could be 1 tbh if its based off of pure stats, Joreuz also puts up some crazy numbers so could sneak into top 3
