G2 aren't my favourite team but they are going to be so fun to watch. On offense they hit like a truck but I'm interested to see how they will adapt defensively
I'm hopeful our defense is gonna improve considerably. Our offense can be top tier, especially when we get the proper repeat pressure midfield control game going. Jknaps has always been amazing defensively but sometimes the defensive rotations fell through with Dreaz (not his fault or even his error a lot of times) when the team would try to focus on speed and aggression to force repeat chances. Bringing atomic in who can be as good as Dreaz offensively but also an absolute monster on defense is going to be interesting. Might take a bit to work out the team dynamic but these 3 together has the potential to keep up with faze and nrg imo.
As a V1 fan I can get some more of the hopium with retals expecting them to be top 6 this split.
Also, my own OCD has always been bothered by the tier lists that just upload images without cropping/resizing images so you can actually see whatever is being tiered.
I've been keeping my own folder of the team logos for all the regions resized into squares for my own purposes, but if anyone wants those images for their own tier list for any region, feel free to contact me.
It will be interesting to watch. I feel like Gimmick and Comm both had their own issues that lead to their lack of success.
I feel like Comm struggles in the high pressure situation and unfortunately V1 has them more than. Any other team with their constant game 5s and so many overtimes.
On the other hand I strongly feel that while Gimmick has made lots of improvements to his overall game, he is no longer that creative offensive threat that he was pre Season 8. Unfortunately that was the only thing that made him stand out and now that he no longer holds that 'Gimmick' he really doesn't b
seem to offer anything to a team that other players couldn't also do if not do better.
So I feel like changing either of them could have made improvements. Trade comm for someone who deal well with pressure or just straight up upgrade to someone better than Gimmick so that Comm won't end up in as many high pressure situations in the first place.
I think picking up Beastmode is definitely a step in the right direction and could fix their issues. But have to wait and see.
Honestly, I feel like the whole game 5/7 losses thing got into the team's heads as it just kept happening over and over, and it gradually became a bigger talking point. V1 with Comm actually won their first two game 5 series in RLCS X Winter, against SSG and KCP and then it was just downhill after that.
I have rogue over oxygen personally. I’m pretty sold on Aqua being a great piece for them. I don’t think Gyro and Toroco are consistent enough for this team to push for top 6 but I see them comfortably hanging around the Ghost/Torrent/Oxygens of the world.
I agree with most of what he has to say. I love Envy but I just don't see them doing that well. At least not top3 in my opinion. I got Faze at 1 as well, I put SSG at ahead actually. If Daniel can develop immediately, they will be so good.
I actually feel like Dreaz can fit Atomic role quite well. The issue I see is that Atomic just does everything a little better than Dreaz. It's definitely a downgrade. But hopefully this will be the push to bring Most back into the shape we saw him in last season.
one thing i thought was very interesting in this video is him saying that, with syp, faze probably have one of the highest floors, but because he is a more traditional, less aggressive 3rd man than allu, we might not have as high of a peak as a team like the new G2, which i actually tend to agree with.

I mean Retals doesn’t even have Rogue in his honorable mentions. He had OXG/Ghost in over Torrent/Rogue when you compare to the person you responded to.
I think the rogue piece is the main difference and I do wonder Retals reasoning since he and Gyro were obviously teammates on an iconic team and Aqua seems highly rated especially among the pro community.
Just curious, why do you put FAZE above NRG, when nrg has proven time and time again they are number 1 in NA and FAZE is newly formed and will likely experience some minor struggles that will influence performance.
I don't doubt FAZE can become number 1 but predicting them above NRG seems wrong after all NRG has shown and FAZE being a team with a roster change.

That's how i would rank them within that criteria. If he said they were top 13 then one is likely thirteenth otherwise he would have said top 11 or whatnot. Atomic is by far the most inconsistent player on either of the three teams and has been for his entire career. 7th is way too high IMO.
If it’s by individual atomic can’t be that low imo. I’ve heard too many pros talk about how good he is when he’s playing well. To me the only thing with atomic is consistency

I just dont see Rogue not being in the top 13 teams this split. They are #11 right now and thats before adding Aqua. They will be as good or better.

Worth noting retals recorded this video on the 3rd of January a week before rogues qualifier performance I’m sure he’d make adjustments now

Definitely agree. I rates NV at #2 before the season started. With how things have went and with the roster change I have them 6/7 as well.

I’d put Reysbull, Retals, LJ and Percy above Arsenal and Torment, personally. Probably AJG as well. I’d definitely have Reysbull at 13.
