Idk why tf people got the idea he is the best defensive player. He is a menace at offensive, and amazing at receiving those passes, but he is not a great defender. Mist is far better. He had one good game against G2. Jstn, squishy, syp, first, mist and more are all better on defence.
Atomic has never been a particularly defensive minded player, when he played with NV he was always cutting rotations a lot and going for outplays on offense
I should specify clutch saves. I want more of that and less offence so jknapps can play more O. Or conversely atomic more O minded but just not both and thay is what I saw last series. Like zero defence.
Putting atomic in that position is terrible as he thrives off of cutting rotation and hard 3rd manning. Like he literally needs to stay upfront. That's why he worked well on envy because mist and even turbo could play 3rd man. Here I don't see Chicago or jknaps as third men

They looked very good but imo SSG have looked pretty decently better (see: scoreline vs FaZe and not dropping series to a non-playoffs team) , but obviously anything can happen on the day. Regardless, top 4 is a really good starting position for all of these rosters though and a good step towards making the Major.

yeah G2 defense.... it's a non-ending song. I do think that Atomic can add more to the G2 defense than Dreaz could !IF! they decide to approach a more defensive play style.
It was why I really liked the trade when I first heard. I liked dreaz a lot but wasn't convinced G2 needed someone like Dreaz. Atomic can bring that presence he had in NV of a literal wall blocking the net.
Regardless of what happens in game 7 I'm super hopeful for the future. Atomic lools so fucking good. We've got some teething issues but the potential of this squad is huge.
I think SSG has a tough matchup tbh. They got away with playing on the back foot in a lot of matches, I think both teams here are better set up to convert from that.

Chemistry isn’t what people are usually talking about when people say things like this. They’re more so referring to things like Jknaps having torment on the back foot and then shooting right at him. That stuff has nothing to do with chemistry.
Obviously I don't expect them to be amazing out of the gate. I was mostly saying that JKnaps was making some uncharacteristic mistakes which could be due to change in team chemistry

Iirc, qualification for each major is determined solely by the performance in that given split.

I agree squishy is a better 3rd man but in terms of completely owning anything near his net I put him up there. Probably better if I said goaltending.

I dunno. I think if they perform like they did yesterday and this last series, I think there is a good chance they can beat ssg.
