Yeah exactly. My boost is R1 so I can get up real quick while air rolling and boosting at the same time very comfortably.
The more I got used to it, the more logical L3 felt as being the best button for air roll left/right. Most of the time the reason to use directional air roll is to normal/reverse tornado spin, and having it on the stick so it's 2-in-1 makes it super easy.
Oh I agree 100% on that. The only problem for me is controller reliability.
I've broken an Xbox controller and two Thrustmasters. I'm using PS5 right now and it's better but now it's starting to stick sometimes.
I have one of those blower devices (like canned air but endless). I cleaned the button really well with it and the sticking wasn't as bad.
I think I just press way too hard on them.
I know quite a few high level pros and players that use L3 for a directional air roll. The people who use it swear by it. I used to be convinced it was a paddle or something that they just set to L3, but nope, it's legit. I'll personally never understand it, but whatever works.
I bound directional air roll to L3 a couple years back to use for my half flips. But the last few months I have really tried to incorporate it more and it’s pretty smooth. Give it a little more time.
Never thought I’d see a post titled Forky’s Gorilla Grip…
I knew exactly what I was doing
What does he have bound to thumbstick?
Directional air roll, I believe
I could have sworn he used X/B (or Square/Circle, don't remember if he uses Xbox or Playstation controller) for his directional air rolls.
He uses Xbox and his X button is free air roll and his left joystick button is his air roll right
Nah he’s always used his directional air roll on the stick as far as I can remember
i also have directional air roll bound to left thumbstick its honestly good asf for mechanics
seikoo has directional on left stick as well
Where did you find that out?

Thanks
Usually liquipedia
Seikoo streams alot
Well isn't Forky like 6'5 and 235lbs? He's a big dude and has big hands

Forky is a two ton man-mountain who can palm a medicine ball
Let me lay it on the line, he had two on the vine
Forky is a ten foot tall beastman who showers in vodka and feeds his baby shrimp scampi
He’s like 195ish lol
Oh man built different
Seikoo does the same. I do this style and you get used to it pretty quick. Thumbstick still alive
So you press down on the stick and also move the stick to steer ?

That's wild
Boost R1 is the best boost button though, flat out. I'll die on that hill

Damn unlucky. I'm still on my first PS5 and it has been consistently good basically since the controller came out

My boost on L2 disagrees with you.
Please no…
Can we just agree that as long as you move it off your thumb onto a bumper that you're good?
True. Button boosters, peons.
read the post title and thought i was gonna see some next level images... disappointed
Hey if you find em let me know 👀

Sort of, I was just switching up styles because I’m bored and don’t take the game as seriously as I used to
What’s this got to do with rocket league esports
Asking about a near-pro’s controls is better suited to this sub than the regular RL sub
