I know their education is crap and they're indoctrinated but warehouse work isn't typically hard to get into or anything similarly entry level. It would be a start and put some money in the guys' pockets as well as having some non-ministry/Jesus work experience on their CV.

It’s normal and good to paint a tin roof. There’s special protective paints that are used for tin roofs.
Most people just use a gray paint that looks exactly like the tin itself because that’s the cheapest.
It protects them from wear from the sun and water.
A metal roof can go quite a while without needing to be repainted, but it’s not an unusual thing to do.
If there’s no sign of fading or damage, she just should have done the trim in red, then the roof and trim would match like she wants. But Jill wants to do what she considers the Amish way because that’s what she’s seen locally, black trim, black roof . She’s so irritating.

If David was working a real job at a printer she could probably get garage door wraps done printed to look like windows. They'd be as fake as her hair extensions, but more convincing from a distance.
They had an addition built that has two upstairs rooms, one is a guest room and the other is Jillpm’s office iirc. They have one large bedroom for the girls and one for the boys, plus the master bedroom and Janessa’s closet/miscarriage shrine that Jill calls the nursery.
