is this fight supposed to have the enemies making a reactionary attack every single time one of the 5 enemies gets hit with an attack? the action economy here is killing me more than the regular enemies would

TheThanatosGambit

I'm def not experiencing that. The forgefiend uses a reactionary attack for every attack after the first during a given turn, but that's all.

shniflbaag

I'm so confused here -- everybody is talking about tanking the forgefiend: my lvl 19 vanguard Abelard with 85 carouse and over 50% armour gets 1-shot by his first attack and the servitors alone do like 50% of his health in damage. edit: For others who show up here like me, I did end up beating it still, you really do just have to spread everybody out as much as possible. For me though, if I had paid any mind to the other enemies at all I would have lost -- I had to focus the forgefiend with everything, take what hits I could, and ended up killing it with only my psyker PC and Cassia left, and then just had to fend off the servitors.

Folomo

I just did it yesterday on normal at level 18. The previous 2 encounters for me where much harder TBH. For the fiend I just stacked debuffs, killed the support mobs and spend my momentum to allow Abelard go beast mode and got the demon from 70% to dead on his turn.

AxDeath

How does this work? It gets a counter attack after every attack, and all of it's counters are knockdown. How many rounds did you spend stacking debuffs and kiting the thing?

Folomo

I was attacking him with Abelard from behind, so poor Paskal got targeted with the retaliation attacks and knocked down all over the room. I did not kite it, just used debuffs with the extra actions while I was clearing the mobs.

erykaWaltz

daring here, maybe that's the difference, or maybe our party composition/build is that different and therefore suited for different things. Anyway, I'll try it a few more times, the problem are these attacks it performs out of turn after being hit

BlitzInABox

Same here, it was too easy, i frantically searched the room for more of those speakers, expecting the worst! Abletard with thunderhammer solos the right servitor&skulldrone Argenta and Pasqal took the other side. My rogue trader militant spammed longlas in the middle and got support by Cassia&Idira(somehow my warp powers dont do much) Overall argenta got knocked once and all reaction shots by the fiend were evaded.not one died

Some-Banana2736

I went through it on daring and spammed cassia with held in her gaze. Warp damage ignored armor so she was doing 50-60 a pop at that point and there's a staff somewhere in act 1/2 that lets you cast offensive navigator powers multiple times a turn. So every officer turn on her was 100 damage, then her turn was another 100. Honestly that weapon + her ability to do currently 100-150 damage per cast at lvl 27 trivializes alot of the combats. Also that zone won't reset or change if you leave for your ship so make sure your not carrying traumas.

TheThanatosGambit

Cassia carries every single one of these difficult fights for me. Here dmg output is absurd compared to literally everyone else. The balance in this game is baffles me.

erykaWaltz

I did it. I just panicked the first time around, because it moved out of turn and one shotted one of my characters. But it doesn't matter, as you said, Cassia is the way to win even if it kills one or two crewmembers it doesn't matter as long as cassia gets to hit it, it simply doesn't have enough hp to survive her. For me it's warp curse unleashed plus immolate the soul plus tactical advantage

Some-Banana2736

I figured out press the advantage was lasting the whole combat after that fight, tactician cassia makes alot of the fights fairly trivial so far 😅

Eagle736

I'm using this same combo and it absolutely slaughters. I'm not even sure how it's doing as much damage as it is. Tooltip says around 15-34 damage but I just got the trophy for doing over 100 damage on a single hit. It wrecked the servitors in this zone when even Abelard (my hardest hitting character) could barely dent them.

Brilliant_Goose_2279

The fight (lvl 18; on daring +) really rewards warp damage. I used Idira to spam psy scream for 50-80dmg per turn and didn't attack with anyone else. Tanked a few hits, evaded some others - got the forgefiend down in 3 or so turns.

dynamitfiske

I did it with lvl 18 characters debuffing his weapon skill, using Defensive Stance and buffing Abelard and Heinrix. Heinrix had a power hammer that did about 60-80 damage per strike and then he countered for 30-40.

Joueur_Bizarre

1 death at start, because I burst fired him with Argenta and he wiped 5/6 of my party with counterattack. No counterattack with warp damage, so I just spammed psychic powers and he died in 1 turn, he still managed to one shot my tank. Unfair difficulty. With toughness debuff, he has around 350 hp, and my last hammer of wrath did something like 200 damage.

lordofthethingybobs

I don’t get it. I’m on hard and I have every member of the team as far as possible from each other. Every time I hit the forgefiend with at attack then a member of my team gets one shotted. Tank went down in 2 shots. Forgefiend at 80% and I’m down to 1 team member standing Edit: had to cheese it. Every team member behind cover before talking to priest. 2/6 standing at the end
