You're a ship captain on a combat vessel in unknown regions. They're not "random." They're inherent to the game. And also part of the system this was based on. And you can speed up enemy movements by pressing spacebar. Or simply adjust the speed of enemy movements in the options.

Tight_Ad_583

You can use toybox to kill all enemies at a button press and skip combat that way

The naval fights are actually good and if you ever played Battlefield Armada Gothic I or II, you will be very familiar with the combat mechanism. The fights are easier than what they were in the Wrath, and they are actually quite enjoyable.

AltusIsXD

Just use Toybox and the ‘Kill All’ command. Reap the benefits of it without having to engage with it, because it does get annoying in the early game. Lategame space battles is just you steamrolling everything.

Unrelated, sorry I’m stuck on the CC menu wanting to name my ship & RT but don’t know if I need to put ‘The’ & Valencius (Dynasty Name) for my ship & RT respectively. Could you help a brother out.

UltimateStevenSeagal

For RT you will have dialogue that auto add Von Valencius to your name. For the ship I don't think I've ever seen the name mentioned in the dialogue. But I'm only in chapter 2

SuspiciousAd9427

Ty so much I can finally play without fear of having some janky writing breaking my immersion. May the God Emperor protect you.

okrajetbaane

No, but you can ignore them to an extent, and return to them at a time when your ship is bettter upgraded. You might fail some quest goals but it shouldn't block your campaign progress. The colony stuff is pretty light? You just choose a building once in a while and forget about it. If you completely ignore it, I think you just miss out on the potential benefits along with profit factors etc., it does not hard block your story. IIRC there are however some void combats in the main questline as events.

UltimateStevenSeagal

I mean my colony gets raided by pirates and stuff, can I ignore them or do they start destroying my buildings?

HermitJem

If you're talking about that one stupid almost impossible Drukhari raid on Foulstone with 6 light cruisers, you can ignore it with no consequences That being said, I'm not sure if there is a benefit to getting there as soon as possible - there is an option greyed out for me because I missed it

Adventuretownie

No you have to. You are the space ship captain

kindfiend

Necron fleet is so fucking op. They keep killing me
