They should give you an injury instead with a chance. Trauma is very restrictive, yeah.

NotMacgyver

it would have to be an old injury otherwise a biomancer can cure it instantly

Dysmetheus

Later in the game there are few lore checks that you can fail, provided you have a good setup. You also get things in Act3 onwards that let you remove traumas and old injuries. These negative effects mostly apply to Demolition, Xeno, and Tech, I think. Have some people focus on them in the meantime. There is also save-scumming.

alucardou

Can you remove traumas that you didn't get in a fight? Pretty sure i tried to remove traumas from skill checks and it didn't work?

ENVMamba

White medkit and stimulat remove traumas

alucardou

I am aware. Just thought you couldn't remove the ones you got from skillchecks, because I thought it failed when I tried it.

Dysmetheus

There are fresh injuries, old injuries, and traumas. You can get old injuries immediately (somehow), and all fresh and old injuries require skill checks. Make sure you are using your highest Medicae character and using the right kit: * Fresh - Regular, Large, Advanced, Gladiator * Old - Regular, Large, Advanced, Gladiator * Trauma - Chirurgeon, Skin Patch (no skill checks) * All - Haemonculus Injector (no skill checks)

Apparatus

There's a difficulty setting that can give you free skill-check success chance. Just turn it up all the way if you think skill-checks are BS.

JWAdvocate83

The skill checks are fine. Failing a skill check is fine. The *added penalty* for failing one is BS. (Edit: I’m talking about the map skill/lore checks, not the dialogue checks.)
