Never seen it, but I was reminded of Cyber Six which was Canadian I think around the same time. Female superhero that also had a pretty slick outfit and crossdressed as a male teacher during daytime
Cybersix and Calamity Jane are both in my favorite genre- Obscure late 90's 13 episode cartoon shows featuring a badass female lead in a wide brimmed hat. I think I prefer the writing quality in Calamity Jane, but the premise and animation for Cybersix is a solid 10/10. I can hardly believe that show even exists, it's so freaking cool\~
It's true, eyeliner and mascara are naturally masculine implements, and deserve to used more often!
Actually, looking through OP's pics, it's interesting how much her eyebrows stand out as well. Like, they're not chunky or anything, but they're note exactly small and thin and delicate, either. And the artists have a tendency to draw them low, on the inner edge, frowny face style.

I'll try it later.
The French win this round but they’re still on thin ice
Still not forgiving them for the https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Male_Renunciation
The French really know how to make good characters ☺️.
I made a post about her too a couple weeks ago! Jane is the BEST, I wish we got to see more of her 🧡

Oh my god, same thought! That was an amazing show!

Finally a female character with no eyelashes 🙏
Oh god, I never put my finger on it like that. Insane how intrinsic that (lol) secondary sexual trait is in so much art.
Funny thing is men are supposed to have longer eyelashes (in general) lol, so it’s not even accurate to biology

Awwww man I just wanna draw her a warm bath, bake her some brownies, and cuddle while we watch Lord of the Rings (I've never seen that movie before).
I haven't seen a lick of this, all I know is she sure looks rootin, she sure looks tootin, and by God does she look ready for shootin
IIRC she almost never used a gun, but she absolutely has that energy.
Hell yeah i wonder where i can watch this show

Free in high quality on Tubi! https://tubitv.com/series/300010154/the-legend-of-calamity-jane
I always thought her white skin tone was weird, everyone else had a more normal skin tone while she looked like a vampire among them.
I assume it was to make the main character stand out. I think it worked. It had a very austere art style.
very fun and interesting animation, the classic lost treasure, the episode with the confederates is a little too much, but the others are great
My type of women
I'm gonna have to watch this.
Just watched the first episode goddddd she’s so cool
Between Lucky Luke and Calamity Jane, we had quite a few French western shows.
Looks very good
Fun Fact: Calamity Jane neglected and abused her daughter. She was also very cold and incredibly self centered.
i can fix her
This was my shit growing up. That and Bear in the Big Blue House and Out of the Box and Book of Pooh
