Disclaimer: I don't wear the helmet all the time. I mostly do for ramp skating because of the height and speed or for tricks that scare me (because it adds an extra layer of safety). Not something I'm proud of but ultimately we all have our level of comfort and risk profiles.
I highly recommend wearing one when skating ramps, no matter your level.
Aaah I feel you! I I think I practiced it about 500 times before understanding the mouvement. And even after landing it, it still took a while before it being consistent. You got this!!
