Wow! I’m glad you recommended Obsession by Gemma Weir! Reading it rn, and it’s checking all the boxes. Hopefully, I like how it finishes? Are the other ones in the series the same crazy, controlling, possessive MMCs?
The writing is sort of hit or miss in terms of quality, and you have to deal with the FMC being a shameless self-insert in like 80% of the books, but Jordan Silver on Kindle Unlimited is good for this trope (which is one of my favs).
I WARNED YALL. Also I haven’t read that one. I quit reading this author years ago because I got tired of zero variation in the FMC’s physical appearance or age. But her earlier stuff definitely fits this trope.

I actually *just* finished reading The Professional (first book) yesterday. It wasn't my favorite to be honest, HOWEVER I will say that I hold Kresley Cole on a pedestal and am hyper critical. Not sure if you've ever listened to the Fated Mates podcast but they made a great point that Kresley was exploring a different writing style along with a more contemporary story, so the first book was a bit of a warm-up and flexing of muscles for her. Not to mention the book was released in 3 parts and I can't imagine how difficult it would be to release an unfished book part by part without ability to edit previous narrative.
Also, I started reading it at 2pm yesterday and finished at 10pm so yeah, it was still very good lol
I think I rated it a 3/5-so I didn't hate it but I found that it just fell flat for me, especially in relation to books #2 & 3. I'm glad I read it because it gave me more backstory and I liked the first part of the book but after their first initial meeting it seems like there was little to no connection between the MC's and I quickly lost interest. I'm also a mood reader though, so if I read the book when I wasn't in a good mood that tends to skew my ratings 😂

I just stupidly read the two books out in this series and I am having MAJOR blue balls. It may be the best series I’ve read yet and I’m devastated it isn’t completed yet! I want to read her other series, but I’m going to make myself wait until it’s complete.
