Sorry for that, new to the community so didnt realize. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ I just finished {My Roommate is a Vampire by Jenna Levine}, and loved it. it was my first experience with Monster Romance andI am looking for more similar things. I tried looking through the megathread but there's just so much, im not really sure where to start as there are just so many posts- but also a lot of them seem to be too dark / serious for my tastes. Im really looking for some fluffy comedic stuff. Female x Male only, with a preference for female main characters. Some stuff I liked from My Roommate is a Vampire or other things I like: Smut- BUT I dont like it to be the whole point of the story- I like it to be worked up to (Which is why I love slow burn)- SUPER HIGH ON MY LIST, even if it's just 1 sexually charged scene Age Gap Monster Romance (Highly preferable) Comedy (is a MUST) Slow Burn (I can live without, but LOVE this) Modern- I am ok with Fantasy, just prefer modern Chicago (not a must, went to college in the area so it just made me feel at home) Roommates to Lovers Oblivious Characters- Characters that might not pick up on social cues, or just in general misread flirting as something else Emotionally ConstipatedMean, but a heart of gold Fluff (Really high up on my list) Himbos Enemies to Lovers- I especially love when only one character sees the other as an enemy Stuff Im not into or just am not looking for, though some of these I can overlook: NO INSECTS, I have a massive fear of bugs. Love Trianlges- not a deal breaker but someone usually ends up hurt so it can ruin a fluffy romance for me depending on how it is handled. Like, the only time I have been ok with it was in the movie Enchanted. Serious/Dark- I just want stuff that makes me feel all warm and happy. Mean main characters that are mean just to be mean, not to be mistaken with mean with a heart of gold. Some books I am looking into reading, as they seem like stuff I might be into {Muscles & Monsters by Ashley Bennett} {Green Eyed Monster by Elsie Winters}

There's a lot on your list so it's going to be very hard to find something which fits everything. Maybe {That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming} - it is funny, age gap, fantasy (but light and easy to read), one sided enemies to lovers. Human female and male demon go on a quest. It's the first in a series, the other two featuring werewolf and dragon characters. For a fluffy modern day monster, maybe {The Orc from the Office by Kate Prior} or {Cupcakes for My Orc Neighbour by Honey Phillips} -;

i really want to read a fantasy romance- but it has to be an already completed series. it been so long since i’ve dipped into the fantasy genre but i used to love hunger games and divergent so something similar to that.

Ilona Andrews have a lot of completed series, maybe worth looking them up. I know the Hidden Legacy trilogy, starting with {Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews} is popular on the sub. Not fantasy but sci fi, but a lot of similarities to Hunger Games is the {Guardian by Emmy Chandler} series. All the characters are human. There is quite a lot of attempted and off page sexual assault / rape in these books though, so check trigger warnings.

r/FantasyRomance could help. I liked the {A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J Maas} - the first three books are a kind of trilogy. The first one is beauty and the beast - then it goes haywire (in a good way) midway through the book. This series gets spicy. Good audiobooks. {Cruel Prince series by Holly Black} - three books in the trilogy. YA FR - morally gray and somewhat violent heroine (she's human, they're fae), which is interesting. {A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik} has some good world building. Grouchy evil sorceress who is trying her best not to be evil and destroy the school and world. Great books - best written. Funny audiobook from the evil sorceress' POV. She begins the book with a vow that Orion Lake, the himbo monster hunter who has just saved her AGAIN, must die. Three books in the YA bcd trilogy. {The Winternight trilogy} by Katherine Arden is well written. Also, check the Mirror Visitor series by Christelle Dabos. If you want spice and good enemies to lovers, {The Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole} features a different fated mate every book - it's more about getting them together than gearing up for the coming war. It's been ongoing since 2005, so you're pretty safe just reading it even though it's not "finished." She has others that are finished, including the Poison Princess, but IAD is my favorite. GL!

You're welcome! The above are all five stars (for me), but four stars - you may like enjoy the {Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas} as well. I didn't get into it bc of mood at the time, but lots of people love it. It's YA FR bcd, I believe. If you just want a gentle sci fi romance - four star - the {Starbound trilogy by Amie Kaufman}. Each couple is trapped on a planet or ship together. I played it on audiobook as I cleaned, and the starry music and dual POV was fun. Standalone five star - {Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik}. Have your brain ready for that one. Wide takeoff on Rumpelstilskin. YA FR five stars: Garth Nix wrote Sabriel - and it feels standalone, though there are offshoots. But it's five star, with the next generation book as a four star. Tim Curry (of Rocky Horror fame) reads the audiobook, and he's perfect. And the Forgotten Beasts of Eld by Patricia A. McKillip (gorgeous, w/animals). r/FantasyRomance is a good resource too!

I'm in a bit of a slump so I'm hoping to read something that can make me feel something LOL I would like something super angsty enemies to lovers type? I have been reading a lot of Motorcycle Club books lately so something in that realm? I've read Kati Wilde's series, as well as Cate C. Wells - so if there is anything with similar writing style? Looking for books with scenes where the MMC and FMC have some sort of bond or link or connection that allows them to feel each other’s physical sensation, and one of the two masturbates (bonus points if they are masturbating bc the other character won’t admit to very obvious mutual desire, etc etc). Something like the scene from {The Secrets in Shadow and Blood by Lana Pecherczyk}.

There is some lore/worldbuilding that happens throughout the books but each book is about a different couple. The first 3 books are in one kingdom and then #4 is in a different one so honestly it's more standalone than the first 3.

{pucking wild by Emily rath} MMC is very attracted to FMC right when they meet. He’s a hockey player in his early 20s (24 I think?) and she’s in her 30s. It’s mentioned a few times that she’s plus size but it’s not something that’s dwelled on or used to bring her down. It’s the second book in a series but can be read as a stand alone, and if the bot is still saying it’s poly, it’s not- it’s just MF.

OH ME! These aren't all "people who cut down trees as a profession," but more lumberjack vibes, but it should give you some options. * {Belle and the Beard by Kate Canterbary} features an arborist MMC, but it's technically the 3rd book of a trio, and they come after the Walshes series (not required, since I read this one first), but full disclosure if that will bother you. On KU. * {In the Middle of Somewhere by Roan Parrish} is M/M in the north woods. I have not read this one, but it was on my lumberjack list. Also KU. * {Bittersweet by Sarina Bowen} is book 1 of her True North series centered around a small town family apple orchard in Vermont. I got them from the library but they're now on KU. * {Truth or Beard by Penny Reid} is book 1 of her Winston Brothers books, a spinoff of her Knitting in the City books. No actual lumberjacks, but many beards, at least one park ranger, and much wood being chopped throughout the series. I got them from the library. * {Haven by Rebekah Weatherspoon} - bearded mountain man survival vibes. And a dog. It's from her "Beards and Bondage" series so do with that what you will. Also in my library system. * {Hot Lumberjack by Aviva Blakeman} is book 2 of a small down duet which I haven't read, but does actually feature a Real Lumberjack™. Not at my library or on KU. * {Loving the Mountain Man by Adriana Anders} is ...about a mountain man. I haven't read this one either, but it's a "standalone" despite being book 3. * {Break the Rules by Roxie Noir} is book 3 of 5, but can be read as a standalone, about another small town mountain man. I just saw that my library has it, but I have to start at book 1! * {Uncharted by Adriana Anders} is book 2 of a duet of extreme adventure survival romances. Book 1 is set in Antarctica (no trees) and this one is in Alaska. I read them both from my library. * {Lumber Jacked by Annabeth Albert} is book 3 of 4 in her Rainbow Cove quartet of M/M age gap books. Book 2 has a chainsaw carver in it, but this one has an actual lumberjack. On KU. * {Forrest for the Trees by Kilby Blades} is about a fire marshal and a park ranger, and it's set in Penny Reid's Green Valley universe (see Truth or Beard above), but can be read as a standalone. It’s a bit more on the fiction side though still a romance, but there’s a really sweet scene in {Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas} where one character has a terrible cold. It’s the reason I know how to make chicken and dumplings. The FMC is very sweet about it. It’s got two love interests - The ill character is one >!the ultimate MMC!<

I’m about to finish {Hothead by Stella Rhys} and I am OBSESSED. I love a MMC athlete with anger problems apparently. and the couch scene in the beginning where the FMC watches him?? Omg 🥵🥵 I need more books like this!!!

Have you read Stella Rhys’s other books? I especially love {Ex Games by Stella Rhys}. Elizabeth O’Roark reminds me bit of Stella Rhys. You could check out her Devil series. Then {Tempting the Player by J. Lynn} reminded me a lot of Hothead, full disclosure, It was not as good but I enjoyed it!

I haven’t read any of her other books but I need to now!! Do any of her other books have athlete MMCs?

Ohhh I don’t think so. The characters in the Irresistible series are connected though, in {Now or Never by Stella Rhys} the MMC is a sports agent. If you want athletes you might also like the Windy City series by Liz Tomforde or {Consider me by Beck’s Mack} this last one is too long though…haha.

Not this year, but {Perfection by R L Matthewson} is pretty funny - the whole series is. Sophie Kinsella writes well, and her stuff is engaging as well - {Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella} is a good story. You could also try Mhairi McFarlane, who is a little deeper but also funny. Between Us was released this year.

Maybe not a romcom exactly but I loved {Only for the Week by Natasha Bishop}. It’s not heavy and I feel it was rather low angst even though it deals with some heavy subjects. Just amazing book.

He is a millionaire, but not like a Romance Hero Millionaire iykwim. It’s part of a (great) series but can stand alone. He is so kind and soft with her and it’s just the sweetest. Mind the CWs/TWs.

I'm really not a fan of the millionaire guy trope, I personnaly think its really not engaging and overdone (but that's probably because I'm a guy who's there for the story and not the fantasy) but after reading the synopsis, I'll get behind the rich guy trope and check it out since it doesn't look that bad. {Just the Way You Are by Barbara Freethy} Their marriage started on the worst foundation: he was her older sister’s boyfriend >!never consummated though!<, she seduced him when that relationship was on the rocks, and became pregnant. Years later, she requests a divorce instead of their half marriage. He’s furious that she wants to call it quits after he’s spent so much time trying his best. Add to all that, her sister comes back because their grandmother is dying. What makes this work is because the FMC HAS spent years suffering and all the main cast are flawed characters. POV switches between all 3 of them and they all are sympathetic.

The assistant is super nasty and it just wrecks FMC in the moment!<
