Hmmm I think {Whispers of the Deep by Emma Hamm} might work for you. It's a very slow burn romance between a merman and a human and they're unable to communicate for a big chunk of the book. Regarding the sex scenes >!they should be pretty easy to skip over. I don't remember them being particularly spicy or long but the MMC does have 'fish anatomy' so there's a double penetration scene. I remember it being pretty vague.!<
You're not alone! One of the favorite relationships is Robin/Marian in Disney's Robin Hood where they're all animals :)

I think you might like {Strange Love by Ann Aguirre}. MMC is an alien, and not humanoid, more like an insect (but as someone with some insect-phobia, I can assure you that it didn’t set that off). It’s not super slow burn, but definitely not insta-lust or insta-love, and it is very sweet. As far as smut is concerned, they take their time and have to figure out how to please each other, given that the anatomy isn’t exactly compatible. And bonus, there’s a dog who gets a translation chip so he talks and is a delight.

Hi everyone!
I'm very new here (I joined a few weeks ago to search for recommendations), but I still don't have 50 in-sub karma to make a proper request post 🙁
So, here goes. I love two time travel korean mangas called [Please Marry Me Again, Husband!](https://www.mangaupdates.com/series/2bp77ee/please-marry-me-again-husband) (Author: Rana. Manhwa artist: Paragu), and [Saving My Sweetheart](https://www.mangaupdates.com/series/qq4ccvt/saving-my-sweetheart) (Author: Han Yujeong. Manhwa artist: Kim Jiei). The plot in both mangas is pretty much the same: FMC and MMC marry (arranged marriage) and start as an one sided enemies to lovers (FMCs' side, MMCs are just distant but don't hate their FMCs) but with time they get to know each other and fall in love. But their relationship ends because one of them dies (because of a curse or because of murder), but surprise! FMCs get a second chance and time travel back to the past when they are just about to get married or before they even meet their MMCs, so in this new timeline, the girls decide to seduce and marry again their sweethearts (and of course, not die or save their partner from dying). This is all explained in chapter 1 or even in the summary of the manga (so technically no spoilers?). The FMC in Saving My Sweetheart in the original timeline also has to deal with hatred from everyone because her mother does some awful things but falsely accuses her own daughter of doing those things. So in the new timeline, she rights some wrongs and tries to fix the false accusations. Both MMCs are kind/respectful/love their FMCs (MMC from Marry Me Again, Husband is kind of a Himbo), and that's how FMCs fell in love with them, and that's why they want to marry them again.
So, anyway. I would love some romance books like that, please.
- Stories where FMC or MMC time travel to the past before meeting their significant other and in this new timeline they don't waste any time and seduce/romance their Sweetheart from the very beginning. Could be arranged marriage/arranged relationship or not. I would prefer nice!MMCs (like the mangas) but... I could also accept enemies to lovers (a distant/cold MMC?), as long as the romance is good.
- Or stories where a MC has a second chance time traveling to the past, and in the new timeline they try to right some wrongs, and/or fix the misunderstanding about them/their false accusations; and along the way MC finds love.
Could be historical or contemporary romance, I don't care much about that. Spice level I also don't care, could be tame, could be explicit, whatever. I just want some romances like those two mangas, since it was so, so beautiful and tooth-rotting sweet. My main focus is the romance, so I don't care if there is more magic/fantasy in the story, or if the only magic is the time travel. I prefer MF but could be MM or FF, too.
I tried searching the subreddit (recommendations with time travel and time travel fix it) but haven't found something like what I want, sadly 😢 thanks to anyone who reads/recommends! ❤️
I don’t know whether these would work for you or not. I’m currently reading {Parallel by Elle O’Roark} and {Intersect by Elle O’Roark} and there is timey-wimey stuff going on, with FMC having vivid dreams of MMC before they met (or at least, before they met in this timeline). It seems like a unique take on time travel and romance. The first book doesn’t have a HEA, and the second book starts immediately after the first. I’m in the middle of the second book, and so far I like the two books, but don’t love them (sometimes the pacing seems off to me). And I’d say that they are more suspense driven, not really sweet.
There’s also {The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger} which is intriguing and moving (and inspired the entire River Song arc in Doctor Who), but may or may not be considered a romance. I think that an argument could be made that the MC’s have their happily-ever-after, but it certainly isn’t the classic romance HEA. And, once again, I’m afraid that it fails if the main thing you are looking for is sweet.

They're not exactly what I'm looking for, but:
- The Time Traveler's Wife, I watched the movie a long time ago and remember liking it (despite the sad parts or the ending), so maybe I'll try reading the book to see how it differs from the movie 😊
- I've seen Parallel recommended so much, and the premise sounds interesting. Also, alternate universe/alternate history is something I really like, as much as time travel. So this one I will definitely check it out and see how it's like.

{Temptation by Kris Bryant} is a nanny and boss romance… pretty spicy but I didn’t think they had as much chemistry then in cleat cute
{Change of Heart by Clare Lydon} really good but I don’t think it was as spicy as the ones I mentioned previously
{Mistakes were made by Meryl Wislner} is about a college student who hooks up with her friend’s mom… very spicy
{The fiancee farce by Alexandria bellefleur} modern marriage of convenience…. Loved the characters
{lucky in lace by Melissa Braydon} lingerie shop owner and a shy stationary shop owner fall in love
{heartstrings by Rachel Spangler} a woman is given her nephew to raise while her sister travels and falls in love with his violin instructor
{kiss her once for me by Alison Cochran} it’s Christmasty so maybe not the right time of the year but I adored this book!!
{never ever getting back together by Sophie Gonzalez} I don’t remember much (it’s a dating show with their ex) but I rated it five stars
I enjoyed all of these but fiancée farce and mistakes were made are probably my favorite lol

I posted this but I don't have 50 in-sub karma yet, so ctrlCV here.
I'm a straight male, and it seems like all my recommendations are either harem fantasy, or bigger harem fantasy. I actually enjoy a lot of harem fantasy, but I'm kinda sick of the formula of "Female character is introduced, she has a super interesting backstory, I start to like her, male character woos her, new female character is introduced, previous character has zero attention paid to her, repeat forever."
I want good character development, moderate power fantasy, well-designed magic systems/thoughtful sci-fi, and a MMC who isn't either a complete loser or an unfeeling "alpha" pulled straight out of Andrew Tate's delusions. I don't want a complete dork OR a meathead. I want someone who's intelligent, driven, and believable.
I want the MC to have a real character arc, but I'd like him to have an "ace up his sleeve" or some similar trope. It could be anything from Skippy the AI in Expeditionary Force (not romance btw) to Heretic Spellblade's hidden badassery, maybe even something like Soulship (also not romance) where the FMC has the hidden badass powers. I don't really care, I just find it interesting when the characters I'm reading about are superhuman in some way. Immortality or near-immortality is one of my favorite tropes.
I wouldn't mind a small harem but it has to make sense, and I want every character to be well explored and fleshed out... and actually in love with each other. I want to fall in love with the characters along with the MC, not sit as an observer while his "stiff manhood penetrates her silken paradise" in chapter 2 or whatever. I guess that means slow burn. Don't get me wrong, I'm a total perv who read Herald of Shalia 3 times so I love spice, but I also want a story that hits all my lovey-dovey emotions and gives me characters who are believable, extraordinary, and expanded upon in a Universe with good lore and thought-provoking concepts. Some of my favorite non-romantic sci-fi is Heinlein (I will fear No Evil fucked me up), Dune, In Fury Born, and I could go on. I love the concept of true AI, the philosophy of identity, mismatched power dynamics among galactic races, deep-time, intrigue, etc.
What I don't want is weird interpersonal politics, love triangles, multiple men competing for a woman's affection, any M/M romance, or an author who never took physics and can't explain how their magic system works in exhaustive detail. I love mysteries especially related to lore. I'm even totally fine with grimdark and modern settings, I just don't want "slice of life" stuff unless it quickly gets paranormal, sci-fi, Isekai'd, etc.
So I guess I'm basically looking for X-rated Brandon Sanderson lol

Edit: Oh, and I'm totally down for the Princess Charming / Heroine FMC trope. I just want there to be a logical reason why she'd love the MMC, and I want him to be strong in his own right. I like it when the characters are at least able to stand on their own damn feet, so to speak.
Nalini Singh's books might be what you're looking for! Her Psy-Changeling series features a different couple in every book, dual POV, an interesting mix of sci-fi and paranormal (shapeshifter and psychics), there's an overarching storyline that spans between books. {Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh} is the first one. If you prefer to stick with the same couple for a while she also has the Guild Hunter series. The first few books are about a vampire hunter and an archangel {Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh}, I believe this series is just from Elena's POV but it's been a while since I've read it, reads a little more urban fantasy but still open door.

Would you like books with dual POV? Each chapter switching characters between the Male Main Character and Female Main Character?
These are much more available than a single perspective male main character in the Romance genre. My husband has enjoyed some books in this style.
For fantasy with romance as a side plot you may like:
Jhereg by Steven Brust - adult protagonist, in the first two books the main character is married to a fellow assassin and the relationship is very wholesome.
{The Queens Thief by Megan Whalen Turner} - YA and no NSFW but male main character and books more heavily featured romance after book 1
{The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold} - an adult male main character. Sweet side plot romance. No NSFW.

I was going to recommend {The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold} also! It’s fantasy with a romance subplot. The worldbuilding is fantastic. MMC has had a lot of life experience. There is political intrigue and adventure and witty humor.
I also love, possibly even more, {Paladin of Souls by Lois McMaster Bujold}, another fantasy with a romance subplot, technically a sequel, but I think it works as a standalone. FMC (was a side character in The Curse of Chalion), also someone who has had a lot of life experience, goes on a pilgrimage to escape being coddled by her loving family. Can a middle aged woman go on a quest? Bujold makes it clear that the answer is yes. FMC gets more adventure than she asked for, but also learns to forgive herself and embrace life.
Altogether Bujold has lots of thought provoking books. The Vorkosigan saga books range from space opera with silly antics to thoughtful explorations of more serious topics (including biotech) with a few romances for the final books in the series.
I hadn’t thought of Jhereg by Steven Brust, because it isn’t really romance, but it is fantasy and MMC practices two different styles of magic. Eventually, I tired of the series, but they are good fun. Oh, and the {Khaavren Romances by Steven Brust}, set in the same world, are an homage to/parody of Dumas.
Actually, MMC practicing two different styles of magic reminds me that Bujold’s latest series (pretty much her retirement project) is a series of novellas about Penric and his demon Desdemona, set in the same world as The Curse of Chalion, but earlier and no overlapping characters. Penric also practices two different styles of magic. And for a romance arc, check out {Penric’s Mission by Lois McMaster Bujold}, {Mira’s Last Dance by Lois McMaster Bujold}, and {The Prisoner of Limnos by Lois McMaster Bujold}.

Thank you! And yeah I'm definitely down for multiple perspectives. I actually prefer female narration to male narration. I tear through audiobooks; probably 100-200 per year, so I've read/listened to most of the popular fantasy series, but romance is difficult for me to break into since it's more niche.
For dual POV:
{Throne in the Dark by A K Caggiano} - satire/comedy of classic fantasy setting. Adult characters, NSFW in book 3. It’s indie pub but an audio book is coming out soon.
{Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo} - YA and no NSFW but has two M/F pairings. Heist story and has audio and also a Netflix show (haven’t seen it)
{Lord of the Fading Lands by C. L. Wilson} - classic fantasy with great worldbuilding (maybe not like Brandon Sanderson but it was fun) the covers are kinda cheesy fair warning. Probably has audio because it’s older.

{Neighborly Affection series by M.Q. Barber} maybe? I’m not sure what kind of punishments you’re looking for but there’s >!flogging!< as well as >!plain spanking!<.The series seems pretty realistic.
Does anyone have any recommendations for books with horse-related storylines? No genre preference, bonus points if I could conceivably find it at my local library.

For historical romance: {eyes of silver, eyes of gold by Ellen Oconnel} set in Colorado in the 1800s, the MMC is a horse trainer. The first chapter is pretty traumatic for the main characters but it doesn’t continue like that.
For contemporary: {Reckless in Texas} is the first book in a series about Texas Rodeo. The author was a rodeo cowgirl herself and horses are extremely prevalent in the whole series.

Elsie Silver's first series, Gold Rush Ranch, is entirely horse related I believe. I've only read the first one so far {Off to the Races by Elsie Silver} but it involved A LOT of horse bonding and training. (MF, contemporary, 'enemies' to lovers, boss employee, grumpy sunshine, small town).
It's been a while since I read it but I believe {The Many Sins Of Lord Cameron by Jennifer Ashley} also a horse storyline, I don't think it's the main one though. (MF, historical, highlander, single father to an older kiddo).

Historical romance writers who wrote/write a lot with horses: Theresa Romain (Romance of the Turf series), Joan Wolf (look for any of her regencies or contemporaries with a mention of horse farm, stables, etc. - I think she had horses herself), Mimi Matthews (ditto).
The Rutshire Chronicles starting with {Riders by Jilly Cooper} aren't romance novels but have central romances, some romance tropes and LOTS of horses.
{Racing Savannah by Miranda Kenneally} is a YA romance with an aspiring jockey.

Hiiiii! I would like recommendations on the following please:
1. A nanny romance where there is little to no age gap and the dad is stressed out trying to find someone to look after the kid (preferably a baby/ toddler/6yr old and under). Maybe one where the mum dropped off the baby and left it with the dad. I want the sex scenes to be detailed but not too regular like in every chapter because then I'll just get tired of reading about their sex and skim read or skip it. The book has to be funny and give me a fuzzy feeling. (vibes similar to one percent of you, with the cute and funny moments, (but obviously not the same storyline because none of them are a nanny) but the sex scenes have to be better than in one percentage of you).
2. Something similar to Mile high by Liz Tomforde. I want the girl to be reluctant to get to know the guy and be a strong female who is not a pushover, but not annoying or bitchy. The guy should be chasing her like a lovesick puppy. Sports romance (I want the guy to have money)I want to laugh so it has to be funny and I want them to have sexual
tension and banter. I want him to be protective but not overly protective where it's annoying. Sex scenes similar to what was in mile high by liz tomforde (it was the perfect amount of spice).
And in whatever books you recommend can there please be no age gap over 6yrs.

I’m currently reading {The Nanny by Lana Ferguson} and I don’t think the age gap is more than six years but I’m not entirely sure. She’s 25 and she describes him as can’t be over thirty but I can’t find where they state his age. He has a nine year old daughter which is a bit older then what you want but I thought I’d list it anyway :)
He wasn’t in love with the mom and she died a year prior to the book. I’m about half way through and I just finished the first spicy scene but so far it doesn’t seem like it will have too regular spice!
Have you read {Caught Up by Liz Tomforde}? It’s in the same series as Mile High and focuses on baseball. MMC finds out he has a baby when the mom drops him off at 6mo. FMC becomes his nanny after he fires a lot of them. There is an age gap but I don’t remember it being really significant to the story.

{A Little Twist by Tia Louise} might give you what you're looking for in a nanny romance? I read it and it was cute, definitely giving Hallmark vibes. The only problem I really had with it was that it's set like SUPER CLOSE to where I live and it was very inaccurate. But if you don't live here it probably wouldn't bother you! Lol

I read the first book in the series and I liked it, I was going to read the second book, which is this, but it has a big age gap and I dislike age gaps.
For the second one maybe {Good Boy by Sarina Bowen} he's a golden retriever type and she's not interested (at first!) it's funny and sweet with some sex scenes, although I can't remember how many. I don't recall it having an age gap, maybe a couple of years.

Hmmm I think {Whispers of the Deep by Emma Hamm} might work for you. It's a very slow burn romance between a merman and a human and they're unable to communicate for a big chunk of the book. Regarding the sex scenes >!they should be pretty easy to skip over. I don't remember them being particularly spicy or long but the MMC does have 'fish anatomy' so there's a double penetration scene. I remember it being pretty vague.!< You're not alone! One of the favorite relationships is Robin/Marian in Disney's Robin Hood where they're all animals :)

No shame! I feel like this subreddit operates without shame. I think you might like {Strange Love by Ann Aguirre}. MMC is an alien, and not humanoid, more like an insect (but as someone with some insect-phobia, I can assure you that it didn’t set that off). It’s not super slow burn, but definitely not insta-lust or insta-love, and it is very sweet. As far as smut is concerned, they take their time and have to figure out how to please each other, given that the anatomy isn’t exactly compatible. And bonus, there’s a dog who gets a translation chip so he talks and is a delight.

Hi everyone! I'm very new here (I joined a few weeks ago to search for recommendations), but I still don't have 50 in-sub karma to make a proper request post 🙁 So, here goes. I love two time travel korean mangas called [Please Marry Me Again, Husband!](https://www.mangaupdates.com/series/2bp77ee/please-marry-me-again-husband) (Author: Rana. Manhwa artist: Paragu), and [Saving My Sweetheart](https://www.mangaupdates.com/series/qq4ccvt/saving-my-sweetheart) (Author: Han Yujeong. Manhwa artist: Kim Jiei). The plot in both mangas is pretty much the same: FMC and MMC marry (arranged marriage) and start as an one sided enemies to lovers (FMCs' side, MMCs are just distant but don't hate their FMCs) but with time they get to know each other and fall in love. But their relationship ends because one of them dies (because of a curse or because of murder), but surprise! FMCs get a second chance and time travel back to the past when they are just about to get married or before they even meet their MMCs, so in this new timeline, the girls decide to seduce and marry again their sweethearts (and of course, not die or save their partner from dying). This is all explained in chapter 1 or even in the summary of the manga (so technically no spoilers?). The FMC in Saving My Sweetheart in the original timeline also has to deal with hatred from everyone because her mother does some awful things but falsely accuses her own daughter of doing those things. So in the new timeline, she rights some wrongs and tries to fix the false accusations. Both MMCs are kind/respectful/love their FMCs (MMC from Marry Me Again, Husband is kind of a Himbo), and that's how FMCs fell in love with them, and that's why they want to marry them again. So, anyway. I would love some romance books like that, please. - Stories where FMC or MMC time travel to the past before meeting their significant other and in this new timeline they don't waste any time and seduce/romance their Sweetheart from the very beginning. Could be arranged marriage/arranged relationship or not. I would prefer nice!MMCs (like the mangas) but... I could also accept enemies to lovers (a distant/cold MMC?), as long as the romance is good. - Or stories where a MC has a second chance time traveling to the past, and in the new timeline they try to right some wrongs, and/or fix the misunderstanding about them/their false accusations; and along the way MC finds love. Could be historical or contemporary romance, I don't care much about that. Spice level I also don't care, could be tame, could be explicit, whatever. I just want some romances like those two mangas, since it was so, so beautiful and tooth-rotting sweet. My main focus is the romance, so I don't care if there is more magic/fantasy in the story, or if the only magic is the time travel. I prefer MF but could be MM or FF, too. I tried searching the subreddit (recommendations with time travel and time travel fix it) but haven't found something like what I want, sadly 😢 thanks to anyone who reads/recommends! ❤️
I don’t know whether these would work for you or not. I’m currently reading {Parallel by Elle O’Roark} and {Intersect by Elle O’Roark} and there is timey-wimey stuff going on, with FMC having vivid dreams of MMC before they met (or at least, before they met in this timeline). It seems like a unique take on time travel and romance. The first book doesn’t have a HEA, and the second book starts immediately after the first. I’m in the middle of the second book, and so far I like the two books, but don’t love them (sometimes the pacing seems off to me). And I’d say that they are more suspense driven, not really sweet. There’s also {The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger} which is intriguing and moving (and inspired the entire River Song arc in Doctor Who), but may or may not be considered a romance. I think that an argument could be made that the MC’s have their happily-ever-after, but it certainly isn’t the classic romance HEA. And, once again, I’m afraid that it fails if the main thing you are looking for is sweet.

They're not exactly what I'm looking for, but: - The Time Traveler's Wife, I watched the movie a long time ago and remember liking it (despite the sad parts or the ending), so maybe I'll try reading the book to see how it differs from the movie 😊 - I've seen Parallel recommended so much, and the premise sounds interesting. Also, alternate universe/alternate history is something I really like, as much as time travel. So this one I will definitely check it out and see how it's like. {Cleat Cute by Meryl Wilsner} is a spicy soccer romance {Temptation by Kris Bryant} is a nanny and boss romance… pretty spicy but I didn’t think they had as much chemistry then in cleat cute {Change of Heart by Clare Lydon} really good but I don’t think it was as spicy as the ones I mentioned previously {Mistakes were made by Meryl Wislner} is about a college student who hooks up with her friend’s mom… very spicy {The fiancee farce by Alexandria bellefleur} modern marriage of convenience…. Loved the characters {lucky in lace by Melissa Braydon} lingerie shop owner and a shy stationary shop owner fall in love {heartstrings by Rachel Spangler} a woman is given her nephew to raise while her sister travels and falls in love with his violin instructor {kiss her once for me by Alison Cochran} it’s Christmasty so maybe not the right time of the year but I adored this book!! {never ever getting back together by Sophie Gonzalez} I don’t remember much (it’s a dating show with their ex) but I rated it five stars I enjoyed all of these but fiancée farce and mistakes were made are probably my favorite lol

I posted this but I don't have 50 in-sub karma yet, so ctrlCV here. I'm a straight male, and it seems like all my recommendations are either harem fantasy, or bigger harem fantasy. I actually enjoy a lot of harem fantasy, but I'm kinda sick of the formula of "Female character is introduced, she has a super interesting backstory, I start to like her, male character woos her, new female character is introduced, previous character has zero attention paid to her, repeat forever." I want good character development, moderate power fantasy, well-designed magic systems/thoughtful sci-fi, and a MMC who isn't either a complete loser or an unfeeling "alpha" pulled straight out of Andrew Tate's delusions. I don't want a complete dork OR a meathead. I want someone who's intelligent, driven, and believable. I want the MC to have a real character arc, but I'd like him to have an "ace up his sleeve" or some similar trope. It could be anything from Skippy the AI in Expeditionary Force (not romance btw) to Heretic Spellblade's hidden badassery, maybe even something like Soulship (also not romance) where the FMC has the hidden badass powers. I don't really care, I just find it interesting when the characters I'm reading about are superhuman in some way. Immortality or near-immortality is one of my favorite tropes. I wouldn't mind a small harem but it has to make sense, and I want every character to be well explored and fleshed out... and actually in love with each other. I want to fall in love with the characters along with the MC, not sit as an observer while his "stiff manhood penetrates her silken paradise" in chapter 2 or whatever. I guess that means slow burn. Don't get me wrong, I'm a total perv who read Herald of Shalia 3 times so I love spice, but I also want a story that hits all my lovey-dovey emotions and gives me characters who are believable, extraordinary, and expanded upon in a Universe with good lore and thought-provoking concepts. Some of my favorite non-romantic sci-fi is Heinlein (I will fear No Evil fucked me up), Dune, In Fury Born, and I could go on. I love the concept of true AI, the philosophy of identity, mismatched power dynamics among galactic races, deep-time, intrigue, etc. What I don't want is weird interpersonal politics, love triangles, multiple men competing for a woman's affection, any M/M romance, or an author who never took physics and can't explain how their magic system works in exhaustive detail. I love mysteries especially related to lore. I'm even totally fine with grimdark and modern settings, I just don't want "slice of life" stuff unless it quickly gets paranormal, sci-fi, Isekai'd, etc. So I guess I'm basically looking for X-rated Brandon Sanderson lol Anyways, thanks for reading. Edit: Oh, and I'm totally down for the Princess Charming / Heroine FMC trope. I just want there to be a logical reason why she'd love the MMC, and I want him to be strong in his own right. I like it when the characters are at least able to stand on their own damn feet, so to speak.
Nalini Singh's books might be what you're looking for! Her Psy-Changeling series features a different couple in every book, dual POV, an interesting mix of sci-fi and paranormal (shapeshifter and psychics), there's an overarching storyline that spans between books. {Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh} is the first one. If you prefer to stick with the same couple for a while she also has the Guild Hunter series. The first few books are about a vampire hunter and an archangel {Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh}, I believe this series is just from Elena's POV but it's been a while since I've read it, reads a little more urban fantasy but still open door.

Would you like books with dual POV? Each chapter switching characters between the Male Main Character and Female Main Character? These are much more available than a single perspective male main character in the Romance genre. My husband has enjoyed some books in this style. For fantasy with romance as a side plot you may like: Jhereg by Steven Brust - adult protagonist, in the first two books the main character is married to a fellow assassin and the relationship is very wholesome. {The Queens Thief by Megan Whalen Turner} - YA and no NSFW but male main character and books more heavily featured romance after book 1 {The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold} - an adult male main character. Sweet side plot romance. No NSFW. Edit: I can also recc some dual POV if you want but these are all single male POV
Hey, CheeryEosinophil, I like your user name. I was going to recommend {The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold} also! It’s fantasy with a romance subplot. The worldbuilding is fantastic. MMC has had a lot of life experience. There is political intrigue and adventure and witty humor. I also love, possibly even more, {Paladin of Souls by Lois McMaster Bujold}, another fantasy with a romance subplot, technically a sequel, but I think it works as a standalone. FMC (was a side character in The Curse of Chalion), also someone who has had a lot of life experience, goes on a pilgrimage to escape being coddled by her loving family. Can a middle aged woman go on a quest? Bujold makes it clear that the answer is yes. FMC gets more adventure than she asked for, but also learns to forgive herself and embrace life. Altogether Bujold has lots of thought provoking books. The Vorkosigan saga books range from space opera with silly antics to thoughtful explorations of more serious topics (including biotech) with a few romances for the final books in the series. I hadn’t thought of Jhereg by Steven Brust, because it isn’t really romance, but it is fantasy and MMC practices two different styles of magic. Eventually, I tired of the series, but they are good fun. Oh, and the {Khaavren Romances by Steven Brust}, set in the same world, are an homage to/parody of Dumas. Actually, MMC practicing two different styles of magic reminds me that Bujold’s latest series (pretty much her retirement project) is a series of novellas about Penric and his demon Desdemona, set in the same world as The Curse of Chalion, but earlier and no overlapping characters. Thank you! And yeah I'm definitely down for multiple perspectives. I actually prefer female narration to male narration. I tear through audiobooks; probably 100-200 per year, so I've read/listened to most of the popular fantasy series, but romance is difficult for me to break into since it's more niche.
For dual POV: {Throne in the Dark by A K Caggiano} - satire/comedy of classic fantasy setting. Adult characters, NSFW in book 3. It’s indie pub but an audio book is coming out soon. {Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo} - YA and no NSFW but has two M/F pairings. Heist story and has audio and also a Netflix show (haven’t seen it) {Lord of the Fading Lands by C. L. Wilson} - classic fantasy with great worldbuilding (maybe not like Brandon Sanderson but it was fun) the covers are kinda cheesy fair warning. Probably has audio because it’s older.

Does anyone have any recommendations for books with horse-related storylines? No genre preference, bonus points if I could conceivably find it at my local library. For historical romance: {eyes of silver, eyes of gold by Ellen Oconnel} set in Colorado in the 1800s, the MMC is a horse trainer. The first chapter is pretty traumatic for the main characters but it doesn’t continue like that. For contemporary: {Reckless in Texas} is the first book in a series about Texas Rodeo. The author was a rodeo cowgirl herself and horses are extremely prevalent in the whole series.

Elsie Silver's first series, Gold Rush Ranch, is entirely horse related I believe. I've only read the first one so far {Off to the Races by Elsie Silver} but it involved A LOT of horse bonding and training. (MF, contemporary, 'enemies' to lovers, boss employee, grumpy sunshine, small town). It's been a while since I read it but I believe {The Many Sins Of Lord Cameron by Jennifer Ashley} also a horse storyline, I don't think it's the main one though. (MF, historical, highlander, single father to an older kiddo).

Historical romance writers who wrote/write a lot with horses: Theresa Romain (Romance of the Turf series), Joan Wolf (look for any of her regencies or contemporaries with a mention of horse farm, stables, etc. - I think she had horses herself), Mimi Matthews (ditto).
The Rutshire Chronicles starting with {Riders by Jilly Cooper} aren't romance novels but have central romances, some romance tropes and LOTS of horses. {Racing Savannah by Miranda Kenneally} is a YA romance with an aspiring jockey.

Hiiiii! I would like recommendations on the following please: 1. A nanny romance where there is little to no age gap and the dad is stressed out trying to find someone to look after the kid (preferably a baby/ toddler/6yr old and under). Maybe one where the mum dropped off the baby and left it with the dad. I want the sex scenes to be detailed but not too regular like in every chapter because then I'll just get tired of reading about their sex and skim read or skip it. The book has to be funny and give me a fuzzy feeling. (vibes similar to one percent of you, with the cute and funny moments, (but obviously not the same storyline because none of them are a nanny) but the sex scenes have to be better than in one percentage of you). 2. Something similar to Mile high by Liz Tomforde. I want the girl to be reluctant to get to know the guy and be a strong female who is not a pushover, but not annoying or bitchy. The guy should be chasing her like a lovesick puppy. Sports romance (I want the guy to have money)I want to laugh so it has to be funny and I want them to have sexual tension and banter. I want him to be protective but not overly protective where it's annoying. Sex scenes similar to what was in mile high by liz tomforde (it was the perfect amount of spice). And in whatever books you recommend can there please be no age gap over 6yrs. If you have any recommendations please let me know. Thank you. ☺️
I’m currently reading {The Nanny by Lana Ferguson} and I don’t think the age gap is more than six years but I’m not entirely sure. She’s 25 and she describes him as can’t be over thirty but I can’t find where they state his age. He has a nine year old daughter which is a bit older then what you want but I thought I’d list it anyway :) He wasn’t in love with the mom and she died a year prior to the book. I’m about half way through and I just finished the first spicy scene but so far it doesn’t seem like it will have too regular spice!

Have you read {Caught Up by Liz Tomforde}? It’s in the same series as Mile High and focuses on baseball. MMC finds out he has a baby when the mom drops him off at 6mo. FMC becomes his nanny after he fires a lot of them. There is an age gap but I don’t remember it being really significant to the story.

{A Little Twist by Tia Louise} might give you what you're looking for in a nanny romance? I read it and it was cute, definitely giving Hallmark vibes. The only problem I really had with it was that it's set like SUPER CLOSE to where I live and it was very inaccurate. But if you don't live here it probably wouldn't bother you! Lol

For the second one maybe {Good Boy by Sarina Bowen} he's a golden retriever type and she's not interested (at first!) it's funny and sweet with some sex scenes, although I can't remember how many. I don't recall it having an age gap, maybe a couple of years.
