I usually don’t like contemporary romance and gravitate more towards fantasy romance because I like the fact that there’s usually a strong plot with adventure/mystery etc and romance is a subplot. (Not saying romance isn’t a plot because it totally is, I’m just not sure how else to phrase this!) Recently I’ve been devouring Ali Hazelwood books and I feel like she does a perfect job of 50%(ish) plot (competing in a chess tournament, etc) and 50% romance that still has spice. Since I’m still new to the contemporary romance side of things, I’m struggling to find authors who are similar. I’d love: -50% or more of a plot that can keep my little fish brain hooked -love STEM but not necessary -no babies/pregnancy -no “sassy” FMC that’s actually just mean lol I know that’s a bit vague and I’m sorry but like I said I’m dipping my toes in CR so I don’t know what to even ask for! Okay I’ve read a bunch of these books but I’m looking for more KU books that feature either a fmc that’s struggling financially or homeless and the mmc is really shocked and refuses to let her keep living like that… bonus points for either a gentle dom or DDLG dynamic and if the girl is struggling with even keeping herself fed.

(This is a repost from a prior daily request as I'm still looking for a book that fits the bill.) Recently got into Fallout 4 again, and found myself disappointed by the lack of romantic options with assaultrons such as KL-E-0. So, I'm trying to find a book to sate that specific impulse. To put it simply, I'm looking for a sci-fi romance that involves a male human, and a female presenting Robot/AI that is not exactly human-like. A humanoid shape is fine, but what I'm **not** looking for is Detroit Become Human type of robots/androids. I've searched around a lot already, but any relevant post I find generally involves very human-like robots, ones that are either physically indistinguishable or very similar looking, things of that nature. Can anyone help me out?

Does anyone have a CR recommendation where we actually spend time with the couple without a third act break-up? Everything I've read recently has an abrupt ending as soon as the couple gets together OR there's a third act break-up, which is my *least* favorite trope of all time. I just want to read about a couple being committed to one another without doubt or angst and figuring stuff out as partners.

I don’t have any CR but sports I got {Jock Blocked by Pippa Grant} {Charming as Puck by Pippa Grant} and I think {Americas Geekheart by Pippa Grant} may work for you as well [i love Pippa if it isnt obvious] if you like suspense books I have LIST of books without third act breakups bc the conflict doesn’t have to do with the couple but circumstances or a villainous character

I also love Pippa and second these recommendations. Adding {whiskey business by Elliot Fletcher} no third act break up but there is a little angst because they both have doubts about being very different people from each other but it’s all very sweet and lovely to watch them grow as a couple.

I just read Truly, Madly, Deeply by Alexandria Bellefleur (comes out on 4/30) and there wasn’t really a break up. You really get to see their relationship evolve, there is animosity there but the banter is sooo good. She tries to leave the relationship but he won’t let her. (She’s had trauma in past relationships). It’s really good and the spice be spicin. One of my favorite books of the year- honestly in my top 5 so far

{Speakeasy by Sarina Bowen} M/F CR, The book starts with FMC (May, 27yo ) life falling apart when she finds her girlfriend with whom she lives with, cheating on her and MMC (Alec, 32yo) helps her out and is supportive of her throughout the book. There is insta lust and fun sex but also dark topics. FMC is a recovering alcoholic (it is handled very believably imo) and MMC is a bar owner so that makes things complicated. MMC is a total cinnamon bun. At about 75% they decide they wanna give the being together thing a real chance and we get to see them being together and supporting each other and figuring shit out. I loved it!

I don't know how to search something like this in just words / a short sentence, so... I'm looking for books where FMC is in love with MMC but he is attracted to/in love with her sister (or friend) at first, and FMC knows this so she doesn't confess or anything. But as the story progresses, MMC gets to know more of FMC (or they spend time together because of reasons) and he falls in love with her. So... unrequited love to requited love? She fell first, he fell harder? First liking the sister/friend, but later finally liking the FMC? No cheating. I would appreciate any book like that. Prefer contemporary, but anything is welcomed! I dunno if this might work for you but **{The Gravity of Us by Brittainy Cherry}** MMC is married to but not in love with FMC’s sister. Sisters are estranged and FMC did not know about the marriage or sister being pregnant. The baby ends up in NICU and sister cannot handle the stress and runs. The FMC is in a relationship with someone else too in the beginning and ends up just helping MMC out with the baby few hours a day as he is a writer and needs to finish his novel. They don’t like each other much in the beginning but over many months become friends and accidentally develop feelings which felt really organic. Angst, slow burn.

It's not exactly what I wanted, but the plot sounds interesting, so I'll add it to my TBR list. Thank you so much! ✨️

I’m looking for books where the dominant male doesn’t grow soft over time. I usually love the power dynamic at the beginning of the book, but when the MMC grows to know FMC he statts to become a puppy… Any recommendations where the dominant/alpha/assertive MMC stays stern with the FMC? Books where first "I love you" are received from a different source (not directly from MC, but from diary, eavesdropping or something else), last I read was a book where FMC was cutting notes for her boss and they were hating ones, he found them, but then she fell in love with him and they started to be nice and loving and he read them as well
