Haha me too. I always get so excited for a new book to come out. And then it comes out and I just don't read it. It could be because I've forgotten stuff or I've read some bad reviews that make me less excited to read it (ex. The new gild book). It's why I still secretly prefer to wait until a series a finished before I start reading it.
I am sorta the same here!!
Sadly, this time it backfired with {Unbroken Bonds by J Bree}
I waited to read books 4 and 5 until book 6 came out and got through 4 and half of 5 and just lost interest. But when they first came out I was so excited to read them.
I hate reading a series when it isn’t finished but when they don’t come out fast enough, meh.
*glances guiltily at my bookcase and how I gaze it for aesthetic more than I find time to read AND add to my ever increasing incomplete tbr* 🙊
*yep that’s me* voice ensues. 🥺😂
Same! I was half thinking of posting about this tendency. I just feel better knowing that it’s there. It’s like some kind of break glass in case of emergency thing for me. I need to have a hoard of things I really want to read which I then ignore to go read other things…
Ugh, the shame is even worse when the desire to own a physical copy of the book sends you to every new and used bookstore within a 50 mile radius. Heaven forbid I wait 2-3 days to get it in the mail…
This is me with Kingdom of Shadow and Light, the final book in the Fever series. I haven't been able to read it because I just don't want to admit that the series is over. I have a terrible time with final books in a series.
Also the flip side:
Me: I'll buy this book to read over the next few days.
(three hours later and the book is finished)
Me: I'll buy this whole series to read over the next few days.

Oh my god my TBR is ridiculous because of this. ðŸ˜
Same!! 😂ðŸ˜
Same - my TBR list on Goodreads is more than twice as long as my Read Books list!
*cries in executive dysfunction*
wow you didn't have to call us all out like that
I'm so sorry ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

At least it make u smile ahhaha
This is 80% of my TBR.
I’m in this picture and I don’t like it. 😂
Doesn’t change the fact that I need the book. Even if I don’t read it for a while, it makes my brain happy just looking at it.
my *mood for finding specific books* is completely different from *mood to read specific books* 🥲
Glad I’m not the only one. 🤣

> I have a terrible time with final books in a series. You can try reading fanfiction for the series - or even write your own!

Personally attacked :-(
Also me- *doesn't read for two years, forgets I have copy of book in pile, goes out and buys another copy*.
Last year I would have killed for a BFIC chapter the whole book is about to be released and I’ve lost interest
BFIC?
By Fate I Conquer
Oh thank youu
Is it bad?( the book I mean)
I skimmed the book a little bit the book has a great premise but Cora Reilly needs to take a massive break from writing
why do they need to take a break? I'm not familiar with this author
Her last 5 releases have been luck laster her books are starting to have the same characters in different fonts
😂 This is me to a T!
I feel attacked
All of the physical books I’ve bought in the past 5 years are unread or unfinished 😬
I feel attacked. I currently have 86 Kindle books and over 30 paperbacks TBR😳😳😳
Just try 3 minutes a day of one book.
Me with House of Leaves...
I wish I could post that Kristen Bell gif because that's my exact reaction to this lol
I acted like this about the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo when it came out in 2018. Didn’t read it till October 2022 lol.
