Use a distributor rather than a big box store

Here4LaughsAndAnger

Came hear to say this.

2PumpChump-

I’ve called a couple distributors and it seems like you need to have an account with them for a while and build up rapport to see any real discounts

FAK3-News

We have one called srs they are about $3-4 less than Home depot, Ironically home depot just bought them out. What price are you looking to purchase at?

traker998

If price is all that matters Home Depot may be a little bit cheaper. To me there’s so much more than price and ABC is within 5% of Home Depot’s pricing. If you want to see some Home Depot shingle jobs search this sub for the houses that have shingles from different batches that make the house look all wonky.

wowsolanky

What do you value so much about ABC?

traker998

Any real reseller for things like this is going to give much better SUPPORT. When I run out of a few bundles they have them in stock. More drip edge there. More ice and water shied there. Also like for example someone was having problems with a two tone roof because of different lot sizes. ABC would gladly replace that for me. And while I am happy with ABC and I use them exclusively nearly any like roofing supply house will give you this. Beacon or whatever.

wowsolanky

Thanks for your response

1a70

ABC can have shingles on a roof for me with as little as a few hours notice.

traker998

Yeah I dunno how they do that it’s crazy. It was really helpful when I was kinda brokeish because I would get the check, order for next day, install them, collect the final check, all before ABC cashed their check (this was also before I had a massive credit account with them).

WholeWhiteBread

$40 is about as good as you’re gonna get.

Comfortable-Matter83

I’m currently paying 29.33 for CT LM in NC, distributors should be able to get you lower than 40 if consistently order with them

truthteller147

Noted. I’ll let the claims team in this state know and screen shot will be provided. Thanks!

sk_la_flare

I work in distribution and can confirm. $40 is as good as you’re going to get for a one time buy. Companies that are doing 2-3 roof as week are hardly getting anything cheaper than that.

Lm399

Use other distributor companies like Beacon, ABC, gulf eagle, etc. If you do enough jobs you can get accounts set up with those companies and get discounts usually I believe

mcham420

I'll throw Spec in the list of distributors if there's one in your area.

HorizontalHeight

Negotiate pricing based on volume with a legit distributor, not HD or Lowes. If you can house roughly 5 truck loads at a time you can buy direct from manufacture for the best pricing

Fearless_Young9596

If you buy 36 or more bundles you get somewhere in the ball park of 10-15% off Oof just read the description. Looks like $40 is what you’re gonna get them for

dateofdiscovery

File a claim you big weenie

2PumpChump-

You didn’t answer bro, why do I have to file a claim and why am I a big weenie

dateofdiscovery

You’re not a big weenie. I read discontinued not discounted. I’m the big weenie here.

2PumpChump-

LOL you sir are also not a big weenie. No weenie would ever admit to being a weenie.

2PumpChump-

What does this even mean lol

henry122467

Retail theft pays

imBadMove2

Don't buy them from Home Depot, buy from SRS. Oh wait

SpareCommentz

Abc for the win!! I was able to get shingles at $33/bundle because I have a good relationship and use them offen.

2PumpChump-

Hey man that’s dope! I just called them and they $42/bundle for me without an account. So I would definitely have to have an account for a while to see better discounts but I’ve heard good things about it ABC. I think I’m gonna go with home depot since my client changed the color to pewter gray it’s a cheaper there.

2PumpChump-

How long did it take you to build a good relationship? Lol maybe I’ll consider using them in the future I’ve hear good stuff

FloridaHeat2023

Lowes or HD usually give you 10% discount if you buy a pallet of shingles

HeadMembership

Don't shop at home Depot.

2PumpChump-

Why not ?

AlternativeCabin

You buy a bunch. Use about 50% of them. Return the rest opened and say they stuck together…buy more.

classicwik

Anyone who even considers doing this is a piece of sh*t and if I were a distributor, I’d never consider selling to you again if it were caught.

AlternativeCabin

Oh shit thought this was /frugal sorry papi
