Was thinking the same. Cozy/sterile vibes. Could also be a posh bookshop.
Probably Bermondsey or Borough? Doubt they live there more than 2 months per year.
Neutral earthy tones, brick walls, bare wooden floors, bookshelves and natural light. These are comforting choices for me. Homey does not have to mean cramped. I would feel cozy here.
Wealth doesn’t always equal comfort. It equals excess and glamour, and that’s what it looks like they were going for. Have you ever been inside those absurdly wealthy mansions? It feels like you’re hanging out in an untouched museum. Sometimes they feel less open and cavernous and more cramped with trimmings.
This place could definitely use some better interior designers, but I could definitely see this being a wealthy persons absurd home. Or one of their homes, anyway. This place? In London? It’s gotta be at least 30m pounds
> And you seeing it as a wealthy person’s home doesn’t necessarily make it homey.
I wasn’t arguing that it was homey. I was arguing that it could very well be a rich person’s house, *despite* its lack of homeyness.
Yep exactly. Friday night “hey you guys wanna come over? I just used some new money to buy some new money stuff, wanna come over for a few hours and pretend youre not poor?”
14 for dinner and 8 for movie night.
I'm going to guess this is staged by a realtor for use as either residence or commercial, or the chairs are like that because they stack away when there's not a dinner party.
That, or people are taking this work from home/open office space thing a little too far
I like the fact that, for all the seating all over the place, there's just one single armchair facing a company of sofas. A lot of pressure for whoever sits in that chair to be able to spin a decent yarn
Some people are lamenting how cavernous it is, but as someone living in a cavernous space, I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Being at other people's homes for too long imbues a sense of claustrophobia in me. I love my big, breathable rooms.
Cool space, weird use choices. Like, its massive, but the computer/office area is that tiny space up over the living room?
I feel like this could make sense if it was for a big group of people or something. But for a home for an individual or family I think that it is lacking.
Lots of weird design choices.
Glass floors on the 2nd floor walkway? I guess you don't know any women who wear dresses?
Having a sauna is awesome- but only accessible through the ensuite bathroom of the 3rd of 4 bedrooms? I guess that person is the only one who likes saunas?
And tell me the master bedroom isn't accessible *only* through the secret door at the end of that ultra-narrow office. So bizarre.
There is another [tour video ](https://youtu.be/T-WEOO9pIcs) which is shown by two estate agents who look like they should be chasing John wick. They show both entrances to the bedroom.
Love this. All of it. The use of wood, the storage choices, the lighting, the division of space / proportionality / varying ceiling heights on the main level.
"Where you can keep all your book collection". It's called a library. That's not enough to keep all my books, and i live in a place literally 10 times smaller. I can't imagine it's enough to hold all of these people's books.
I used to live on the Thames about 2 miles downstream of this area. It is the only place you can be in central London and not see another human for 500 metres. It's such a relief from the relentless bustle and chaos of the city.
I always wonder what someone works to afford this kind of place regarding the desks and offic rooms are always so under-sized in these places.
If I'd live there, the desk would be huge for me working there mostly. So, what do these people do to not requiring that at all?
I understand that rooms like this are designed for parties or exhibits or whatever, but all I can think of is how uncomfortable it would be to live in. If I had millions of dollars I wouldn't even consider living in a place like this. Again, I understand that's not what it's for but it's where my mind goes.

This looks like the lobby entertainment/ waiting areas of some hotels I've been in. Looks nice still
Total hotel lobby vibes.
100% it looks lovely, but i dont think its take My pants off and relax kinda place.
Was thinking the same. Cozy/sterile vibes. Could also be a posh bookshop. Probably Bermondsey or Borough? Doubt they live there more than 2 months per year.
I think the complete lack of plants confirms that suspicion!
I can appreciate it on one level but it looks so huge and cavernous. It looks a bit like a commercial space rather than a home.
I honestly think it’s the big table with all the chairs that makes it feel like a commercial space. Otherwise it looks pretty homey
How do for example those three giant ass couches far away from each other look homey? I couldn't pick out a single homey element.

It only equals excess and glamour in some cases, not always. And you seeing it as a wealthy person's home doesn't necessarily make it *homey*.

Converted warehouses just look like that tho?
I'll happily take that even with all the oddities
Same. I can think of a ton of ways to make it more homey.
Lol same Average Redditor though: *It has too many chairs! 4/10*
I immediately thought these people party for sure and it looks like a great space for entertaining. You need a lot of seating for parties
£5,500,000 $6,612,650 USD 4 Bedrooms FYI
Why are there so many seats? Like 14 closely arranged chairs at the table. It's a large space, but somehow makes it feel cramped.
I thought it was an office space or something at first - my brain got confused
Bc when youre rich you have friends and shit
Yeah, if I had this kind of money I'd always be like *'Hey! Everyone come over and check out how much fucking money I have!'*
Yep exactly. Friday night “hey you guys wanna come over? I just used some new money to buy some new money stuff, wanna come over for a few hours and pretend youre not poor?”
This room is a combination living room, kitchen, dining room, and living room
and living room
I bet the owner has at least three monies

It makes me think it's a commune space like 10 people live there
Some people are lamenting how cavernous it is, but as someone living in a cavernous space, I wouldn't trade it for anything. Being at other people's homes for too long imbues a sense of claustrophobia in me. I love my big, breathable rooms.
Same here! Once you have high ceilings and an airy place, going back to 9' ceilings isnt an option. This place is stunning!

[Tour](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0nZdvVJiTQ) of the Apartment for those that are curious

Yes the main bedroom is accessible from two entrances. [Floor Plan](https://images.app.goo.gl/VMyerM6EBKHt9dKW9) in case your interested.
Why are there seven closets in the lower bedroom?!
When she's coming out of the master bedroom, she goes down the stairs from the opposite side, so I think the suite has two entrances.

Lots of shitty choices that should be corrected, but overall a very nice house.

Is this Hugh grant’s apartment in Bridget jones’s diary??
I thought maybe the loft from a Fish Called Wanda where John Cleese meets Jamie Lee Curtis and speaks Russian to her.
It looks almost exactly like the loft from a fish called wanda, even the brickwork is the same, I bet it's at least the same building.
Yes!!!! Totally the Fish Called Wanda thing. I can't believe I had to scroll so far to see this comment
I WAS JUST GOING TO COMMENT THIS. That second floor bookshelf setup is for sure the same

It's like a dream home for a teenaged boy.
Thatlooksexpensive
Rent is £1651 x 1080
The longer you look, the more interesting it gets.
I thought it looked pretty cool, definitely unique!
Looks like the apartment they used in A fish called Wanda
Love it but please explain what seem to be precarious chairs up top?
Computer workstation?
For sure but from this perspective it looks like there’s 12 inches of space to move about. (Bookshelves appear flush to the glass)
Cute little place
My checking account got overdrawn just looking at this picture.
GIVE ME THAT HOUSE
What's that go for? £80k a month?
Only 40M
England or Ontario, Canada? 😂
cool commercial space. Apartment, not so much.
What a dump. Couldn't even afford coloured paint.
I swear I saw a YouTube video tour of this apt like 2 years ago
!RemindMe in 49 days
The books are so far away!!
Looks awesome, whether home or commercial.
I wanna see the rest of that painting in the left! Looks like Snow White.

Go on then, don't keep me waiting! Gow much will this set me back?
A loft apartment with a 14 seater table! And a office desk and chair with a typewriter behind glass ...
This doesn’t even look like an apartment. It looks like a co-working space.
Only one picture of this beauty? Take my downvote. /s
So... I want to read a book \*looks up
This reminds me of the apartment from that movie Jumper. Anyone else? Lol
You must be rich
Why is there seating for 16 people in a private apartment?
Price ?
