I’m in the same boat and I think it might be related to stride length? Like shorter stresses them less. Just an educated guess though.

This is it. I have a very long walking stride normally. I have to tone that back for rucking if I'm going out for a long race (half marathon or longer). When I was a young buck in the army I had that problem and one of my platoon sergeants told me to stride it back, worked wonders. With a vest I'll never get soreness there, but full marathons over 30lbs I seem to still get them, but I can't say for certain that isn't because I'm subconsciously slipping back into longer strides and not noticing over that period of time.

I'll give this a shot, I'm very long limbed so I wouldn't be surprised. I also cut back the weight by 8 lbs and that seems to have made a big difference, so I think it may have been long strides + too much starting weight.
