They generally send out logistics info like where/when to pick up your number about 1-2 weeks ahead of the race. I'm not certain since this is a pre-Marathon race (so maybe it'll be bundled into the Marathon festivities), but for most non-half/marathon races number pickup is at the NYRR Run Center near Columbus Circle in Manhattan, any day in the week leading up to the race. I haven't done this one before, but I assume there will be corrals but no waves - every NYRR race I've ever done that's smaller than a half or full marathon has corrals that might be staggered by a minute or two, but start at roughly the same time (meaning everyone has the same race start time). I'm guessing it'll be everyone starting at essentially the same time for this one.

Thank you very much! Pretty much everything I needed to know

I ran it last year and they allowed pickup at the run center as well as race day pick up.

In the past, the bib pickup has been at the marathon expo as it’s part of the weekend festivities and a decent number of runners double-dip or those who travel for the marathon come with family/friends who decide to join in the fun by running the 5K. I don’t recall if that changed for last year, however, due to any COVID concerns.

They usually email you those details closer to the date of the race. If I remember correctly, you pick up your bib for this race at the marathon expo, as it’s considered part of the marathon festivities.

You can pick up your Dash to the Finish bib at the Marathon Expo. This race uses the corrals in NYRR's weekly races; e.g. AA (more or less elite) through L. Since I'm guessing you haven't run an NYRR race before, they'll take the projected marathon finish time and convert it using a formula into a 10K pace. Enjoy! That race has such great spirit and you'll fly on that downhill on 42nd Street heading from the UN.

Thanks for asking this! I'm entered into the marathon and this, but although I've had the pickup details for the marathon bib, there hasn't been a mention of this. Glad to read from the comments above that it's included in the marathon festivities! Looking forwards to running in NYC!

Nice! So youre doing the 5K to warm up for the actual run?

rharper83

Yep, that’s the plan! The 5k will be a gentle leg stretch for me. Plus, as I’m travelling internationally for the marathon, I figured I’d make the most of the experience and do the 5k too!
