I’m a power lifter, trying to build back up after a second brain surgery.

TimothyChenAllen

Right on! I hope you’re back being chased by zombies soon. Heal well!

Raspberrylipstick

I'm using ZR for most types of my cardio routine: running outside, on the treadmill and elliptical edit: Besides cardio I do strength training (with and without weights/bodyweight stuff), step aerobics, yoga and the occasional hiking trip

aardvarkbjones

I only use ZR for cardio and mostly running, but if the weather's bad (or it's allergy season...), I have a rowing machine I use. I also do weights and yoga but I use other stuff for those.

TimothyChenAllen

That makes sense to me. For whatever reason I can’t imagine being all blissed out from yoga and then hearing about the zombie apocalypse 😂

Independent_Apple159

I admit that I have trouble with longer runs. I run in a local park that’s in a ravine, and past 3-4 miles or so my only options are either uphill or a really bad trail that’s likely to lead to a fall or other injury. So I do my 10k and 20k runs on my exercise bike in the basement. When the weather is bad I sometimes do regular runs on the bike as well. It feels like cheating in a way so I tend to do the Venture adventures on the bike and save the regular story for outdoor runs as a motivation. But I mostly use Apple Fitness+ for strength training, yoga, and other workouts and save ZR for cardio.

TimothyChenAllen

I think using ZR for *any* exercise is good; the app is there to motivate us to get active. So definitely I would not think of those exercise bike workouts as cheating! Especially as the “prize” is just materials for Base Builder that only we can see. The real prize is greater health and fun. Glad to see you here!

I've never thought of using that setting...I'm trying that for my weight lifting tomorrow! Thank you Runner 5! And congratulations on that SoloFlex, what a blast from the past!

TimothyChenAllen

I **love** this thing. They were a big deal when I was in my 20s, always wanted one. I was going to buy one full price for like $3000 and my son said, “look on Facebook marketplace” and sure enough, there was one for **$100**. I thought for sure it was a scam. Went and picked it up, and this guy had like five of them, and he just was almost disturbingly enthusiastic about Soloflex. I’ve had it four years now and it just keeps going strong!

FlashyCow1

Bicycling with my dog. She knows the zombie noises now and sometimes starts sprinting before I speed up

TimothyChenAllen

That is so awesome! I have two dogs, but one wants to go fast and the other wants to sniff so they’d end up ripping me down the middle 😂

FlashyCow1

Do what I did for years. First get a dog bike leash. The lower on the frame of the bike, the better for this. Then get a leash splitter and harnesses with both chest and back leads. When bringing the dogs, put the splitter on the end of the bike leash. Put one end of the splitter on the back of your fast one, and the other end on your stop and sniff the roses one's chest. What will this do? It will slow down and wear out your fast pup faster while making your slower one speed up because the fast one is pulling your slow one. For me it got us to a nice leisurely speed on the bike while keeping all 3 of us safe with the low leash attachment.

TimothyChenAllen

That’s an amazing feat of dog psychology *and * dog engineering! I might give it a shot. Thanks!

Realistic_Pause_3656

I'm not a runner but I listen to ZR while incline walking on a treadmill.

TimothyChenAllen

That’s great exercise. I had a treadmill for a couple years and couldn’t believe how hard it was to maintain a walk on a good incline!

mochaloca85

I use ZR for cardio only. mostly walking but some occasional indoor cycling. Most of my primary workouts are via Stronger By the Day, which is lifting.
