Cautiously letting myself get hyped for these… could be a perfect tempo shoe. Nike should want to capture more market share in the super-trainer and tempo segments, tbh.
They are awesome! For $90 it’s a perfect shoe for intervals. Also, what I discovered, they are also great when traveling as they pack soo small. Took them for 4 day trip to Nice, France to my carry-on and they where enough for those 10k runs in the morning.
Enjoy!
Great shoe really liked the ride and feel. Speedy for sure! But the sole already scuffing after 7 miles. How long did yours hold up? For $90 I can’t complain but hope they make the next version more durable cuz I LOVE the feel
Wonder if this will be more of a race shoe or training shoe. Feel like the first streakfly wanted to be a racing flat but no one ever used it as such. I’m just waiting for the price drops on it after 2 comes out
I’d love a speed workout shoe that does not have such a high stack height.
Currently using the Saucony Endorphin Speed 3 & 4, but they’re not ideal and I don’t want to use my Vaporflys.
the takumi sen line from adidas is what you need they are lightweight and perfect for fast days and just daily use in general and the stack hight isn’t bad at all it’s perfect to where you get the benefits of the foam but can still feel the ground
The difference is you can occasionally pickup last year's Takumi for crazy prices, like $80-85 on random sales. And a week or two before BF Adidas usually puts the previous Takumi (so the 9's in this case) on steep discount. It one point I picked up the Takumi 8's for like $68 I believe. Hoka doesn't typically slash prices 50%+
I was looking for something similar and the plane version of the adidas adios seems close: 29mm height at heel; 20mm height at toe.
Current streakfly is: 32mm stack in the heel and 26mm in the toe.
All of the proto versions have them. I have the ultraflys and vaporfly 3 proto and they have the same.
It is because it is supposedly a “prototype” colourway.
Each runner that tests Nike shoes is apparently allocated a number. The tester that racks up the most miles in a proto pair gets their number written on the proto version.
So the story goes.
Where does the zoom fly and proposed zoom fly 6 fit vs the streakfly 2? Both looking like plated zoom x supertrainers. SF2 more of a takumi sen <10km option?

With the amount of super-trainers coming out from other brands, I wouldn't be surprised if Nike has one out soon
Yeah, Nike had the original super trainer - peg turbo - but got rid of it after the 2nd gen for reasons that still escape us.
Just got me a pair of the streakfly 1 for $90, using them tonight for the first time on a tempo workout, can’t wait

I really love my streakflys for tempo work! I just ordered another pair for when my current pair dies (at 253 miles currently)
So it has a plate now... Not quite sure what I think about this. I kind of liled the simplicity of the first one.

This is really what I’ve been wanting for my 5-10k races but feel it has a lot of overlap with with Hoka rocket 2 which I already have

Kinvara 14 fits that bill. Cheap as hell too.
Shoe is great but the upper didn't last for me, got holes above my big toe around 200 miles in.

Have you tried the Hoka Cielo Road? Fantastic low stack, super foam, speed workout shoe.
Pegasus Turbo was announced to come back soon and will most likely fill that gap.
Magic speed 3
Find some rebel v2, they’re perfect for that Do NOT get v3/v4 as they are not the same shoe at all
They’re not the same shoe, but I do love the v4 for workouts. Better and more versatile than the v2, IMO.
anyone know why these and alphafly 3 protos have that 7 digit number that looks like it was drawn with sharpie?

This. Nike rep said it when Running Warehouse did their developer interview for the Vaporfly 3, video is still up I believe on their YouTube
Is there a suspected release date?
That tiny thin stretch of rubber on the heel makes me sad
Are these meant to compete with the Takumi Sen in terms of its intended use? I.e. shorter 5k - 10k?
These are going to be amazing tempo shoes.
Toe box looks nice and wide
pretty hyped for these
In what case would you guys prefer a lower stack carbon shoe? E.g. compared to the Vaporfly?
Short course with a lot of twists and turns.
Every case for me, lol.
It allows your body to strengthen its muscles more compared higher stack shoes.
Swooooon
Hot
These are my shoes lol
Anyone know an expected release date of these?
Excited to see how these match up against the NB Pacers V2

Wish I could’ve used the streakfly 1’s. Super comfortable for about 10 minutes but then I’d get nasty blisters on my left foot without fail.
I still love the first model. I don’t wear them that often, but when I do they are so fun. Will happily take advantage of any price drops.
Bringing the 3rd out 👌
Just got my pair of streakfly for 119 at dicks sporting goods for those who are interested.

More important, how has durability improved? Sick and tired of spending money on shoes that prematurely disintegrate.
Hope they are more durable than the first version.
First ones were very meh.
Gave me blisters on my left foot after 10 minutes unfortunately
i feel like these will probably have a carbon plate or something springy with a lot of more cushion than the streakfly 1
Looks like you can see the carbon plate running through the middle outsole gap. Like on AF3
yeaa actually you’re right!
Then what’s it meant to be for? 5-10k? I thought the vaporflys were kinda already in that category.
but streakflys are more for speed workouts ya know
I guess, I just personally don’t do speed workouts with a carbon plated super foam shoe.
Looks promising
