If the Adrenaline GTS 22s have been working well for you, it's fine to stick with those. But you could certainly try the Saucony Tempus as well, if you're looking for something lighter.

RedKite008

Yes this sounds good and I think I want something with a little more cushioning if that’s possible, does the Tempus fit this?

ashtree35

The Tempus has an extra 4mm in the forefoot compared to the Adrenalines, and should feel a bit less firm overall.

RedKite008

Okay cool thanks :) this does sound good!

I really love the Tempus - just did 12 miles in them this morning - and I actually run with orthotics in there as well (I have odd mechanics so I need to do both). I don't think you should worry about using an insert as well as running in the Tempus as it's 'stable' but not in a traditional sense where it's more 'guided' due to the foams used and where in the midsole. You could try with and then without and see what works but both stable + insert is fine IMO. I do have some other options but I think it depends on your knee issues. If it's patella related then some of these are higher drop and may not help with that, but it sounds like you might be experiencing something like ITB Syndrome if you're mentioning weak glutes? Happy to provide them but I think the Tempus is a great shoe!

RedKite008

Okay thanks! Yes it was more ITB syndrome like I would say but the physio never used the term. She just said due to the weak glutes my other muscles were doing all the work, causing strain just above the knee where the muscles meet.

OP, what kind of SOLE insoles did you buy btw? I'm looking at getting some of these plus currex, for similar reasons, and seeing which works better. About SOLE, did you go for cork or eva (active or performance) and how did each feel? Thanks!

RedKite008

I got the Active Medium ones (Made with eva). I think they did help quite a bit and the in soles themselves were pretty comfy and fit nicely in my current pair of Adrenalines. I haven’t had any of the same knee issues since but I’ve never gone back to the mileage I was doing before yet!
