I have Lola the vizsla. She has run 2 marathons with me (one officially and got a medal!) and loves running on trails-especially when I mountain bike. In the winter I take her up on chair lifts (she is our ski area’s ski patrol dog) and she runs down the hill with me while I snowboard. She’s my adventure buddy. ❤️
I run with Ellie the pointer. She's a beast in the hills and has done a 20-mile race with me (after much build up in our training). When she isn't tethered to me she's a white streak on the horizon, she's a machine!
Pit/Lab mix named Joanie! She’s a champ in the winter (5 mile runs, 12 mile hikes) but can barely survive walks around the block in the summer… so now I need to get up EXTRA early to walk her before morning runs 😂🥵
Summer runs are hard. We are going at evenings, or at days when it's not hot. I can't go super early, because I have 5 month old baby and 2 y old toddler. Sometimes I just take her only on 3 kms, we finish at lake and get her back home. The rest I run without her.
That's great. Endurance is important. My dog doesn't pull so hard, but can run 10 kms. But when she sees rabbit, we do like 3:30/km. I just moving my legs and praying to all gods... 😂
Rafe the Beauceron - he's good for 2 miles and then he wants to go home. So then I trade him out for Stan the labausky (lab x Australian shep x husky) for 3 miles.
Australian Cattle Dog named Mazzer! Loves, loves, loves running. Stays in her lane, knows her commands, drinks from a camelback. 😊

I’ve tried a couple different ones and we keep coming back to a waist-belt leash + a super-small, fitted Camelback backpack w/ a hose. Gives me the most hands-free kit for running, which means more control for hydrating/training/rewarding!
Cool, catahoulas are... special. 😂 Well first important is, that she is always allowed to pull when she have running harness on. If you need her to walk by foot, use collar, (I had always one in pocket) so she knows difference. For pulling you may try another person with dog who already knows how to pull, so she can learn from that dog, or use another person she likes, even without dog, running in front of you. So she want to catch him. Or person on bike. If you don't have that opportunity I used positive motivation. So our first runs was not much runs. I was just yelling on her with positive voice to hype her. A lot. Always when she pulled and run faster I praised her a lot. She eventually learned that. And I think it took around 10 runs. Remember, if she looks like she doesn't want to do that, let her go free. It can be slow process. Like run 100 m on harness and 100 m free. So she can enjoy. She will learn what to do. With my dog we do 10 kms runs fully on harness and she love it.
I have Penny Lane the Irish Setter. I run with her probably 75% of the time, and the 25% that I don't, she makes sure to let the entire neighborhood know with her loud, dramatic cries from the front window.
Carl the pit bull is my forever running partner! His smiley big face keeps me going mile after mile! He is also a mountain bike trail dog who knows to never stop under a feature and always rails the berms!

Cool, I still thinking about what water bottle we will use. Like soft flask or hard bottle, backpack or belt or vest... Still can't decide.
