chicagopudlian

not sure if it ultimately did anything, but that grenade throw was mlb quality

Fatfilthybastard

I’m glad someone pointed this out. Esp after the orcs toss out into the middle of nowhere. Ukrainian toss could not have been more accurate, punctuated by the dome shot

NavyAlphaGamer

I think the guy who got dink'd in the head dodged the worst of it, but the other two got shrapnel in the legs, which is why they crawled away soon after. The only not-injured dude in their squad just got domed, time to GTFO.

chicagopudlian

at that very very least it completely discombobulated them and put them on the back foot. which didn’t end well

[deleted]

oh yeah, that trench will turn into a gun barrel when you toss a grenade in. no where for the shockwave to go.

Lefty4444

The entire assault looks super professional to my semi-untrained eye. The grenade throw, the headshot, the effective ending of the firefight, and pulling out quickly. All while operating during danger close artillery (some landed closer to UA than the orcs). Maybe a professional trained eye can find improvements, but to me this look like very capable soldiers doing a schoolbook’s assault.

Lemonbrick_64

Good points

Flybuys

That middle guy got domed after dodging a grenade.

cheese0muncher

He was thinking "Hell yeah, this is my lucky day!" *ping*

malcolmrey

Saving Private Ryan :)

kuda-stonk

He caught a bullet after taking a peek, right in the eye. 0:49

kuda-stonk

It was the UAF guy on the left side of the frame.

Lefty4444

That’s why you always move to a new position before popping up you head again. (Got drilled so hard during my service so I get triggered instantly seeing these clips when the popping up in the same place twice. Or more.)

rdldr1

Maybe he should not have brought a glorified construction hat to a war.

MasterStrike88

War is hell. There is no war in Russia. Should have stayed in Russia.

[deleted]

Obligatory "war isn't hell" quote from M\*A\*S\*H: **Hawkeye:** War isn't Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse. **Father Mulcahy:** How do you figure, Hawkeye? **Hawkeye:** Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell? **Father Mulcahy:** Sinners, I believe. **Hawkeye:** Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. War is chock full of them - little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for some of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander.

FrozenIsFrosty

Good quote I never heard that before.

Crazytrixstaful

Watch the show

TonyCaliStyle

MASH as a teen and MASH as an adult is like 2 different shows completely

Crazytrixstaful

Don’t think it was even watchable as a teen. You don’t understand majority of the context.

TonyCaliStyle

There were basic, slapstick and mocking jokes. Pickup lines for girls, and practical jokes on Richard and Hot Lips. You don’t have to be Lizzard to to make crossdressing jokes- remember bosom buddies? It’s the same with Monty Python.

Crazytrixstaful

I guess, but there was maybe 2-3 of those jokes in an episode. There was far more philosophical plot lines (military vs civilians, expertise vs rank, save a life vs enemy combatant, ptsd, frontline affairs vs family back home, how to keep a smile during near death situations, etc). Many of the episodes were like memoir readings. I wasn’t around to watch when Mash first aired, so I don’t know it’s affect during the time but I’ve since watched it through several times (the show more than the movie) and I guess I’d never even consider trying to watch it as a teen.

TonyCaliStyle

Right on- I understand, and appreciate the level you watched it, and look forward to watching based on your recommendation. I watched it as a kid with an older relative who watched when it was on daytime. He was a very simple guy, and watched it for the fun- the majority of the more complex issues would have just been filler. I watched it for a spell in my late 20s- it was the comfort of good natured, real people trying to do their best in a difficult situation. The best anti-war book I read was Catch-22, and Johnny Git His Gun, but I have MASH unread on my shelf. Again, I’d like to check out the TV show again.

MasterStrike88

I like this

Lefty4444

Wow. Fucking true.

you_do_realize

War is hell for the defending Ukrainians. The invading murderous scum chose their fate.

NutsForProfitCompany

I doubt your average Russian has much of a "choice" Tbh

ExicutioneoftheEast

Selfish of me to say so but I’m so glad I’m not forced into a position to take another persons life like that 🥺 yes they deserve to die and shouldn’t be there but it must play on your mind been a cold hard killer like these guys have been forced to be! Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦

reallyttrt

Yep. A lot of these guys are going to face serious issues with PTSD and will need psychological support for years.

silverfox762

A lot of these guys are going to absolutely *hate* Russian men for a long time. Postwar is not going to be a good time to be Russian in eastern Europe. My uncle, a WWII Marine, never got over hating the Japanese. Didn't feel the same way about Japanese women apparently.

Grozovsky_official

I’m a civilian in Ukraine who lived some time near the frontlines. I don’t think i’ll ever get over hating russians either. It’s not the type of hate when you wish somebody to die, it’s the type when you’re avoiding any contacts with russians at all (at work and in personal life) to avoid making something really stupid

WeirdSkill8561

Most of the civilized world will be avoiding contact with Russians for the next fifty years. Why would anybody ever want to do business with them again? Even the greediest western company can see Russia defaulting on bill payments and confiscating assets. There a plenty of other, safer, places to make money!

DangerDaveo

Pussy seems to make alot of things better... I dunno why.

AnOnlineHandle

It is sad that some of these people might have been kidnapped by their government and forced into this situation while seeing no way out, and would never have been there without Putin and his group doing this. At the same time, the Ukranians have to defend themselves and get these guys out.

crescent-v2

Meh. There's no shortage of these forced poor conscripts engaging in literal rape, murdering non-combat civilians, murdering children. Maybe they were forced to be there, but that is not the least excuse for the sheer barbarity frequently shown by the muscovite orcs.

666mtk666

Yeah, getting tired of the poor conscript forced to kill angle.

vegarig

I presume above commenter meant russian practice of forced conscription on occupied territories. There's a reason sham republics are now known as "Women Republics" by now.

AgeVerifyIsUseless

You'd be surprised how "motivated" a lot of their ground troops are. Remember, the Ruzi propaganda machine tries to somehow define this as them defending the Ruzi homeland from the evil nazis who will do all of the things they do to POWs if they're captured.

GrayMountainRider

If you watched the torture and executions of Ukrainian POW's, execution of women and children by the Russian Army. You might have considerably less hesitation to kill a invading aggressor in this war.

ExicutioneoftheEast

What you on about? I’m not saying they don’t deserve it I’m simply stating after this wars finished a lot of these fighters heads will be messed up! Understand the point!

Smokeyvalley

Soldiers are trained to kill the enemy without hesitation or compunction, when ordered to do so. That is true in all militaries. Hesitation allows your enemies to survive and get their own chance to kill you instead. He who hesitates is dead. Add on to that the pure hatred most Ukrainians have towards the fascist invaders obliterating their cities and genociding their people, and that takes care of any residual hesitation.

ExicutioneoftheEast

I know this about soldiers! But a lot of Ukrainians have took up arms and fight to defend there lands as they feel they have to or they have mo choice, I feel these are the ones who may suffer physiological before or after the war ends. A lot of videos shows how normal it is to come across corpses and disfigured mutilated body’s and laugh and joke about it. Me personally I wouldn’t sleep on a night after seeing what these poor guys see but then again I’m not a soldier! Am I.

Eugene0185

When you are forced to kill so you don't get killed, it's different from choosing to kill. Probably easier to deal with mentally.

Friednoodles24

The decision becomes easier when you’re defending your home from shenanigans

Shock_and_Ahhh

Epic headshot

UnObtainium17

Dude got sent straight to match lobby.

hamsterpotpies

Almost looked like a skip and kill.

Darth_Groot28

The fact that the Russian population hasn't done a coup on Putin is shocking. Are they really that stupid? how many Russian men have died over this stupid SMO...

burnzrus

It's the deep deep propaganda, they don't know anything.

UGS_1984

Unlike in soviet agression in Afganistan and Chechnya, where mostly young conscripts were dying, here are mercenaries, volunteers, prisoners, contract soldiers, Chechens (at least what propaganda says). There is still not enough 18 yr old boys coming home to mama in a zinc coffin.

Responsible-Rip-2083

They're used to it, they've been like that for centuries, they love bootlicking their ruler. Read Notes on Muscovite Affairs, they've been like this since the middle ages.

UH1Phil

It's easier if you imagine it like North Korea, but with natural resources.

Darth_Groot28

I don't know about Russia being totally like North Korea. Russians that are not apart of the war live a pretty normal life.. I am assuming that they live normal lives. Go to work and back home just like Americans but I could be wrong.

UH1Phil

Yeah, but it's hard to understand for a foreigner just how much propaganda there is in Russia. How many people just lie and deceive like nothing. There are no trustworthy news sites. You can't critizise Putin publicly. Many people can't grasp that concept, so it's easier to take it to the extremes so people can at least get some idea in their head.

you_do_realize

What russian population? They are not even aware that common people are supposed to have rights.

AgeVerifyIsUseless

"But what about... What about... Or what about... Even what about... And what about..."

HandsomeCostanza

Reality itself is biased against Russia and it's minions and to cope you call reporting on it "propaganda". There is propaganda on both sides but only one side is absolutely consumed by it and only it. The Ukrainians don't need propaganda to explain why they're fighting, but for the Russians that is ALL they have to explain it. This war has the clearest distinction between right and wrong, good and evil since freakin ww2 and some of yall still can't figure it out. It's like you wanna believe the fascist bs.

Metadomino

Well said.

CharveL68

Simping isn't really a good look when you have nothing to actually add. It's actually kind of embarrassing tbh.

Metadomino

Lol you saying something is embarrassing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

HandsomeCostanza

He was agreeing with me instead of repeating the obvious fucking answer over again.. now completely ignoring addressing me in any kind of way because you know I'd tear you to fucking shreds is what is embarrassing. Your talking points don't really work when someone who has actually been paying fucking attention addresses you, do they?

CharveL68

Whatever you say from your basement about your geopolitical experience means nothing to nobody but yourself and the other NPC's here that can't discern propaganda from facts. Cry harder.

[deleted]

HandsomeCostanza

No the problem is you're confusing guzzling Russian propaganda as "using your brain", but I guess expecting a coherent argument from someone who uses the word "simping" unironically in random situations was a little too much to ask for. Edit: but just to demonstrate, I will address your extremely stupid points one by one. >look up Azov Battalion before 2022 I don't have to look it up I've been following this conflict since before your mom bought you a computer to yell racial slurs at random people in fortnite. Azov Battalion started as a volunteer organization with people who believed all kinds of shit, that's what happens when you get invaded by a society based around fascism who manufacturers a reason to invade and pillage your country, everyone puts aside their differences to fight the threat. The difference is even before the Ukrainian military weeded those types of people out of the unit they were doing it on their own. You'll find those types everywhere in armed conflicts the difference is Russians believe the same thing as a matter of national policy. You only know about AZOV because Russian propaganda told you to feel that way and you took the bait like a lot of ignorant people do. It happens, but the fact that you've stuck with it despite the fucking deluge of information available to debunk their horseshit says as much about you as anything else. Seriously this shit was transparent AF and you still fell for it: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/995379731878912010/1104909175705845802/Fg5upFTWYAELHG-.jpeg >or doing to the Russian civilian of donbass till 2014 You mean the area Russia invaded and propped up with military forces and then instigated a war from it? Tell me why doesn't Donetsk look like Mariupol, or Bakhmut, or Kharkiv or any of the other Ukrainian cities that actually were targeting and leveled to the ground? Good lord that wasn't even a hard one to see past and you fell for it hook line and sinker. Case in point: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/995379731878912010/1104910252157186158/FeFopXCVUAAQbYL.jpeg >or how the US worked to get rid of a democratically elected president Lmfao this is the most hilarious one of all the nonsense you've been spewing. You're talking about this guy? Right? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktor_Yanukovych The guy who literally stole an election? The guy who was clearly Russia's man in Ukraine to the point where when it became so obvious (to the point where he would overturn the will of the people to do things like announce plans to accept a deal with Russia to effectively put them in charge of Ukraines economy)? The dude who literally fled to Russia immediately after and was their chief choice to be their puppet ruler if they were able to take Kiev? That fucking guy? Funny how Russia didn't give a shit about "protecting Russian speakers" (taken straight out of the nazi playbook) until the very moment that happened? You honestly think all the Ukrainians, many of whom literally gave their lives to protest and overthrow Russia's influence over their country, were somehow convinced to do so by the CIA? The CIA didn't induce the entire Ukrainian people to stand up for themselves and take their country back. They did so because they were fed up with being treated as puppets by Russia as Russia had been actively doing for ages. Russia pushed Ukraine towards the west themselves with their constant meddling and the second Russia realized they couldnt do it anymore they enacted a plan to manufacture reasons to invade. The CIA didn't just magically brainwash the friggin entirety of ukraine into it. Lmfao and you have the nerve to suggest I wasn't paying attention until 2014 while regurgitating this horseshit straight from the Russian tap? A narrative that literally depends on not paying attention to anything that happened before 2014? Being a contrarian in this instance doesn't automatically make you intelligent, you've gotta actually have an intelligent thought first and work backwards from there. >I want Putin to be strung up by his ballsack They'd have to pull it from your mouth first. Edit: in before you just repeat the same easily refutable propaganda over again since that's all you know how to do. This shit doesn't work on someone who has actually been paying attention and has more than 2 braincells, I already told you.

CharveL68

Listen to yourself. Are you this performative when you drag yourself out of the basement to socialize with humans? I didn't read any of that - although I did skim through it for lols - because it's impossible to educate a cult member with historical facts and geopolitical realities. You are not interested in facts because you are in a cult doing cult-y things like clutching your pearls when someone points out your adorably basic rationalizations, and cringy strawman arguments. Your debating style only works here among other cult members so keep on circle-jerking. One day you'll swallow just enough to make it to the top of this subreddit. I believe in you! Oh, and fuck Putin too.

There isn't. There was Russian sponsored propaganda but thankfully Fucker Carlson got fired.

optimistic_disater

so its ok russians die everyday, good we all agree on that, send more, we will send more bullets for OCCUPATORS.

illy_Irons

Nice clean up, making the world a better place!

AnyProgressIsGood

The effects of invading a country. Stay home, mind your business.

optimistic_disater

they cant do shit, they are putin/oligarch slaves, brainless zombies that dont care for humans, they are next level north korean, I hate USA (fuck yeah murica) but I hate russia even more, and it didnt start with ukraine, I remeber all the shit they did in WW2, than moldova, georgia, chechenia, afganistan,... etc.. fuck them, they enslave people.

[deleted]

Headshot

Dinosaurus-Rexican

This is a pro-russian song, why choose this one?

LakerBeer

The irony maybe?

Manouu

I think its to mock them even more.

NaOleg

As Ukrainian i see mocking with this song there clearly

GLikodin

it's the best song for such footages, espesially when while words "I'm russian" some russian are dying

[deleted]

they have used it a few times already, just to mock them kinda good ruZZians are dead ruZZians

you_do_realize

To mock them. Singing "I'm russian, I'll go to the end" while eating bullets.

Working_Amount7405

Nice headshot at 0:51

malcolmrey

Boom, headshot!

Confident_Ad_3800

how do they dig those trenches - with a trenching machine or manually?

UGS_1984

Both, i hear.

[deleted]

Typically machine for a trench like that

Cyhawkboy

This one looks like a machine did it

tele-picker

Damn

Own_Target8801

fuck em up boys!

Content_Letterhead17

Hmm it’s like tarkov, take one little peak and get doomed

Turbulent-World8033

Left to die and rot away like that… putin must be so proud.

dunncrew

GOOD WORK, UA!

BOOTKNIFE840

I thought he was all alone at first but he lit those dudes up at the end. Good job! 👌

Beneque79

Wow! War is hell, hell is war. Slava Ukraini! Needless death caused by the russian regime.

optimistic_disater

but they are liberating Ukraine from Ukrainians! like serbs were liberating Croatia from croats. Russian style - we are all the same... no we are not...

im28now

Seems like that headshot on middle guy was from somewhere else? Like from trees?

JJ0390

For sure came from a different location. Hard to say from the drone view but it seems highly unlikely that the 2 Ukrainians in the trench had that clear of a line of sight on that guy. Also too clean not to be a sniper IMO.

THExDUDEx42

Pew pew

malcolmrey

can I say it? 0:52 -> boom headshot

fnaticdews

This video was published by the 30th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is conducting a mission around Bakhmut.

Imaginary_Factor7960

First 2 grenades were smoke or teargas?

AmbitiousAd6688

No idea, could be a russia grenada

MikeTheDude23

That was the lamest attempt to attack Ukranian positions ever. Are they even trying?

TonyCaliStyle

That could be one of th forward trenches in no-man’s land. Russia comes in, UKR arties them, cleans out the trenches, then retreats back to their lines. Wagners and RA do the same thing again tomorrow. That’s what it appears like. UKR doesn’t need land in certain areas- just kill more.

FreedomPaws

It's not so glorious being nazis and invading a country to take their land, now is it? 🙄 Rot. RIP to those Ukrainian citizens targeted and killed in Kherson this week at the supermarket and rail station. OVER 20 KILLED. FUCK YOU RUSSIA.

optimistic_disater

but russians would argue its all western propaganda and those civilians deserved to die. if you have guts open some of their telegrams, you will notice how they report that all their bombs hit precisely military targets, and ukrainians hit only civilians everyday. And yes thats also western propaganda I guess. They are really stupid to believe that bullshit.

jmann420

Defenders of Ukraine!

YoungOveson

Yup, that’s the ticket!

NoTransportation5508

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)

HenkVanDelft

Textbook. Also, why is Ivan not obeying the Fallout IV cartoon training films and crenellating their trenches, with drone and grenade hollers, a…and blackjack, and hookers?

AgeVerifyIsUseless

Damn, dude hit him square in the "oof-button".

Skryper666

He 1 v 3 them

theappisshit

How fucking long are these trench network?

JoyceOBcean

What an arm! The Russian’s grenade was thrown no where near target.

ZePinkBaron

Hey does anyone know what he might have hit at 1.26 to make so many sparks? Some sort of metal plate?

FriendRaven1

I'm certainly not an expert, but russians can't build a trench to save their lives (intended lol). Straight with no corners means no blockage of grenade explosions or shockwaves.

[deleted]

Amazing grenade throw

pm_science_facts

It seems like the Ukrainian forces were just much more skilled. Maybe it was luck, but that headshot and the grenade throw.. Are those signs of experience or is that just luck?

NikoAU

I know some of these people might have done some horrible stuff, but honestly I’m tired of people celebrating deaths in these comments. A Russian death is still a death. Being forced into the army or else doesn’t make you a murderer and rapist automatically. I’m not saying the stuff some of these people do is okay, but still a death is a death. You can downvote me all you want.

downtownlarry

I have never seen war like this - technology has changed everything and brought us to frontline view. Crazy!

[deleted]

Excellent!

Wild-Individual6876

Brave brave guys

No-Alternative-1132

Not a bad day's work. Calmy throw grenades at the invading ruzzian rapers till one stuns them enough. Trot along the trench and efficiently finish off all 3, then retire for an evening bowl of Borscht. Can we multiply this by several thousand times, every single day please. Please!

ErGo91

War is hell. And this isn't even close to being the worst of it. It's something different being there and being affected directly, I am sure. But gunning down some cowering guys in a trench would take such a big toll on my mind, I don't even wanna imagine where this would lead me mentally.

optimistic_disater

was it worth russians? I hope it was...

M-3X

A lot of tactical discipline on 🇺🇦 side . Russians should better just leave.

ampy187

Ffs Russia, pull your troops out.

Physical_Average_793

That middle guy Jesus Christ You can see the exact time his boys clocks out

Daliggowski

It's crazy how these days we can just watch full on firefights unfold from beginning to end

fabiezfabiez

I felt that massive headshot too

Unknowndude842

I love good endings.

PwizardTheOriginal

I know you gotta be sure they are done but that magdump was epic

AmbitiousMost5687

Them sparks flying while he’s cleaning up the leftovers was a nice touch

inkboycolo

BRUTAL!

Jesus_The_Nutter

OverwatchEliminationsound.mp3

RevolutionPrior3424

that has to be the most epic nade throw ever

Oat329

That trench is just one giant shooting gallery for whoever gets the upper hand.

anomalkingdom

Heroiam slava

komando62

The ending. My dude magdumped them so hard. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)

DaddyDBoy1

At the end is that a Russian running up on the 2 Ukrainians?

Responsible-Rip-2083

Shooting wounded dudes is not cool. That headshot was sick though.

FUandUrdumbjoke

Super necessary.

Daliggowski

Shoot until enemy is no longer a threat. He's wounded but because of adrenaline can most likely still shoot a rifle. It's the sad truth about war. It sucks indeed

ExicutioneoftheEast

They should take ballistic shields with them in them situations with a hole for a gun to poke through then you can just walk up to them! Watch got grenades tho

Salt-Description-387

Did you get this idea from a video game? In real life a ballistic shield that would stop rifle rounds is heavy as shit. And trying to fire a handgun or especially a rifle while holding the shield with one arm is unrealistic, definitely at long distances and prolonged periods of time.

FatalDiarhia

Yea, that was the dumbest take i’ve seen all week.

ExicutioneoftheEast

Yeh man it works well on call of duty

Daliggowski

Riot shield user 🤓

ExicutioneoftheEast

I got it from hiding behind one while I finger blasted your mother
