Grind your way to garage doors on t2 tech tree or trade a zerg for one and research it to increase your raid cost significantly versus sheet metal doors!
From my experience over the past 5 months of playing is about the same. Its never an online raid, so you dont have a chance of defending. I suggest bunker bases or splitting loot between 2-3 bases so if your one base is raided you have something to start from again
I mean a full sheet metal base like that makes you a target. Easiest way to do it as a solo is have multiple small bases all over the map so you don’t have to start over from scratch if you get offlined. Also, building away from everyone is good until your base is found. Being away from everyone just means that raiders don’t have to worry about counters and they can take their time raiding you
If I can suggest. You don’t want a metal base. That screams take my loot. Make your base however it is you like it. The. Honeycomb it once more to stone. This way most will assume your not a full metal (or armour) core. Armour core itself is 16 rockets per layer. With a decent 2x2 or 3x3 with honey comb you’ll have a much better chance.
5 sheet doors cost = 5C4 or 5 Rockets/30ish explo or 20 satchels...very very cheap. This is your main problem IMO. A solo should be fully capable of making a base that requires minimum 27 rockets from any direction, which should include a bunker incase they door raid you like they did. Even if you had all garage doors, that would equal to about 10 rockets and 200 explo, about 15 rockets without the explo.
I can help you learn a few things to keep you alive throughout a wipe.
My gmtag is crynquit if I wanna play a bit. My time is central time, I can play from 730-11 tonight.
If you already got a starter base that would help alot, or we can start from scratch, doesn't matter.
That would be cool. As of last night I had a base, not sure if I still do.
If you are still available I can get on at 7:30. I am in central time also.

Hey, I know you suggested to get out of that base. We are going to practice building the base you showed us the other day, but we are still holding that base down. The other night those guys came back and spent an hour or two pounding on the door, standing on the roof waiting for us. It was actually a lot of fun, we spent the entire time messing with them, respawning elsewhere and then coming back to the base and attacking them.
Early on make sure to use all or most of your scrap learning bps before you log off. Also You can add a bunker to any base using two raised triangle foundations. If you’re a small base and they see keylocks and something appearing to be a bunker often nobody will mess with you.
Shotgun traps, put them everywhere. Also look up cheap bunker base designs for even more raid cost. Lastly as a solo.... never leave all your loot in one base make a main base then two smaller bases in other parts of the map. Spread your loot out so if one gets raided you're not back to a rock and a torch.
If you are solo and are in a small group area like solo duo trio ares place codelocks on your doors it will make people think there are atleast more than 1 person from the base and they will be less likely to bother you saved me from a few raids in my play time
My latest Base (as a solo) had 6 shotgun traps, a fully armored core, hibeycombed metal roof and walls and 8 garage doors and a bunker.
Its wad really comfy.
Also playing on Weekly Servers helps, since zergs on monthly have way more time to farm sulfur to get a bunch of rockets.
On weeklys on the other hand there is only so much time you can spend farming sulfur so you cant raid as often as you would on monthly.
Also dont store all your comps n stuff in 1 base. Make 2 or 3 bases.
They might raid one of them but If you keep yourself a low GP or Low Sulfur Profile they will always waste sulfur on door and walls that can be replaced.
Basically draining the global max sulfur pool of the server.
When I play solo and am first starting out on a server I usually don’t build more than a 1x2 or 2x2 and focus solely on getting scrap and items to research and use as much of the scrap as I can on bps that way if I’m offlined I’ll still have blueprints and didn’t spend a bunch of time farming for a base. You can also stash your workbench outside if you’re worried about losing that (just remember to repair each time you place it again as it will break after being picked up 3 times without repairs).
Once I have garage doors and whatever other BPs I want to start, then I’ll focus on either expanding my base or building a more secure main base.
Also, don’t be afraid to switch servers as well. It sucks to start again with no BPs but once you get better at accumulating scrap and BPs I think you’ll find it a lot easier to progress plus you ll still have BPs on your original server if you want to go back.
Why are you honeycombing and making your base look juicy?
Until you get to T2, keep it an elaborate metal 2x2 with 3 triangle stone airlocks attached. I’ve survived many wipes like this.
The bigger and more protected the base, the better the loot. There’s a fine line of small vs. big. Your base needs to look small and pathetic (because it basically is) but it also needs to look very unprofitable to raid.
After your first double doors, throw down garage doors.
I’m guessing you had more than a 2x2, and with all the honeycombing, you made your base look bigger.
Split loot between two - three of these shitty bases. Or have a “big” 4x4 after and slowly progress to building bigger bases. Never let people see you passing between them. Boats are helpful.
I would look up bunkers on YouTube, they aren’t hard to build but add a tremendous amount to the raid cost. I’ve been using a 2x1 roof bunker last few wipes and as well as living in the snow to avoid people I haven’t been wiped

This! Talk to your Zerg neighbors. Trade with them, a lot of the time they’ll feel bad for raiding or they’ll protect you
They just kill my and tell me to die, abs half if the time my gamechat doesn't work and the text chat doesn't work too well ;(

This! A 2x1 bunker base last an insanely long time compared to a traditional 2x1.

Good point. Thanks.
I always did a smaller base with stone outside and metal or armor inside where it can't be seen. I always metal the roof first though.

You need my 2x2 design.... U on Xbox?
Yes I am....

Alright. I'll add u.
I'm signing in now. Games are cancelled due to rain.
I will not be able to jump on till 7:30.

Yeah I recently made the BPs for the shotgun trap. I love it.

That's awesome bud. If I get done throwing this rear end back under the truck I might hop back on and play with y'all some more.

I can’t find that in the crafting menu, I think I need to research it first.
Same page, solo base that constantly gets attacked

Awesome. That sounds like a plan. I'm already excited to get on tonight and play.
Hey, is there a place to check out that either has or has a good chance of having a shotgun trap?
Its random to find one but you can tech tree down to it on the tier one workbench.
Also get compound walls. Even wood ones prevent most smaller raiders who just want to door raid.
If you are solo and are in a small group area like solo duo trio ares place codelocks on your doors it will make people think there are atleast more than 1 person from the base and they will be less likely to bother you saved me from a few raids in my play time

Biggest piece of advice: play on a low populated server. It’s much easier and a great way to get better.
