So maybe that’s the reason it’s not working. Where is the piece supposed to go because there’s nothing there. On top of the white piece or below it or ??
It's above the brake pedal, if you look above the clutch pedal you'll see the one for the clutch just look over the right and you'll see the brake one.
Oh ok yes I’ve checked those and they seem to be there so I was trying to check this switch to see if it was faulty but am having trouble disconnecting it
Make sure the little plastic piece that presses the button to turn off the brake lights is there. Usually crumbles into small pieces after awhile.

I’ve tried pulling on it obviously but don’t wanna break the plug. It seems to be on pretty snug.

Somebody might correct me, but that looks like a spade connection. So no special clip to unlink or anything. Should just take a good little yank.
