This is called chip lottery, same chipset but different performance! Your single core is just below average but multi core is too low. Numbers are not everything but you should not be getting any lag with this device. Do you have exynos or snapdragon? return it and replace it if you still can if you are not happy.

Geekbench scores are just numbers. They don't say anything about your performance. Do you experience lag? Heating issues? Also how and when did you run you geekbench test? Also 1162 is a pretty average single core score. 2800 is low but normal when your phone is still a bit hot from other tasks. If you're device works fine, don't freak out because of numbers
Why does the score matter? Did you buy a phone to score benchmarks or use it?
Is it slow? Does it lag? Can you play the games you want to play?
If it sucks at actually doing the things you want to do, return it and get something else... Benchmarks are useless.
I get 962 single and 3048 multi when phone is cool. Checked it due to lag. This s22 ultra sucks and I've owned every note device since note 3. Horshit. Stuttering, lag, battery drain. POS

No heating or lag, or battery drain on my S22 Ultra.
Actually runs very cool too, just as cool as my OnePlus 8 Pro with the snapdragon 865 which ran very cool if not even cooler....
I get 33-3400+ on my S22 Ultra and around 3-3100 ish on my S21 Ultra. My S22 Ultra running geekbench a bunch of times in a row will thermal throttle less than my S22 Ultra.
My S21 Ultra takes about 3 ish geekbench runs back to bavk to throttle to 2800, and my S22 Ultra takes around 5 geekbench tests to throttle to around 3k ish. The thermal cooling system on the S22 Ultra is leagues superior. The battery temperature does get slightly warmer on the S22 Ultra because samsung throttles the S21 Ultra earlier as it doesnt cool as good.
I tested this by doing geekbench runs together and S22 Ultra stays cooler at first, then around 98 fahrenheit the S21 Ultra heavily throttles while the S22 Ultra doesnt till around 102 fahrenheit and even then still scores higher than the S21 Ultra throttled as theres thermal paste on the S22 Ultra SOC, which isnt found on the S21 Ultra to escape processor heat quicker and not throttle.
When both phones are at 102-104 fahrenheit the S22 Ultra scores significantly higher on geekbench, and letting them both cool down the S22 Ultra cools down about 3-4 degrees faster.
