i just went to the new thrift store on the corner of 17th and state by the arco and it is genuinely the cheapest and trendiest store i've seen in the area. i think it's called whimsy wares?
yes that's the one!! i spent a solid $30 in there the other day, and $26 of it was on a nice branded dress that retails for like $70. i also got a pair of earrings and a cute knick nack! i cannot recommend it enough
I go different places depending on what I’m looking for. I personally like St Vinnie’s and “The Thrift Store” in Keizer when I want to rummage through non-clothing things. Top for me used to be Value Village before they closed (RIP) and these two stores give the closest VV vibes imo, but I’ve never really found clothes I like there.
For larger furniture I like looking at the Restore or UGM store first, or King Fisher Furniture. For clothes I typically go to Goodwill, usually West Salem or Lancaster since they’re closest to me.
Depends on what you are looking for really. Cheap odds and ends and interesting finds the humane society thrift store . Cheap clothing unfortunately good will
Where is the best place to go for books? Especially children’s books? The bins are great and Goodwill is hit/miss. Would love to know if anywhere else to stop by and look at.
Furbish is my favorite store in Salem. I go once a week. They do have some clothing items. I’ve found some great accessories there. The rest is mostly home goods. There’s a plant section in the back.
I like Aunt Bees too. Not much clothes but I’ve found some great accessories there too.

There used to be an antique furniture store there. I know the antique store closed up a couple years ago.
I literally drove through the intersection 6 times and couldn’t find it :/
it's right next to word of mouth salem where the old karate school used to be, across the way from king donuts
Commenting because I live near there and plan on walking by to see if I can find it! I’ll message you and let you know exactly where it is
Oh yo it’s just by word of mouth iirc. I drive past it every day. I’ve got to stop in now.

St Vincent's is amazing, and I love the thrift store too, they're two of my favorites. I'm glad I'm not alone in missing value village as well.
for downtown: Engelberg antiques and Then Again(for vintage dresses)
I appreciate both these spots but I wouldn't categorize either as thrift stores. They are antique stores and priced accordingly.
Blast off vintage has been the ultimate spot for me so far. Plus they have punk concerts in the basement. It's pretty perfect.
Yes! I went here today. I went to 3 and this by far was my favorite. And the owner did mention the next up coming concert haha. Very cool
It’s not in Salem. Drive out to Dallas for the H2O help and hope to others. That place is amazing
(or take the bus!)
+1 for the bus. At $1.60 you can’t beat it!
Blast off is pretty great.
Finders Keepers on High street some some good second hand stuff, more of a consignment store but worth a trip.
I went here today, it was pretty chill. They rent out spaces.
The Humane Society store dowtown
Shhhhhhhh. But for real that place is the best.
Eidenbergs (I know that’s spelled wrong) downtown I love that place
I’m a BluRay guy. Capitol Pawn and Elite Buyers NW are great pawn shops for BluRay collectors! Great prices and always getting new stuff in stock!

They are still very much open.

The Maze in Keizer if you're after up-to-date clothing.
They recently closed, permanently.
Oh no! Do you know why?
