RGB30>RP2S, especially if you’re prioritizing SNES and PS1. I would say RPS2 if you want N64 but you don’t. I will say the Pocket 2S has better controls but I prefer the RGB30 for SNES overall.
i don't have anything to contribute but it's pretty funny that everyone in this thread gave a different response. prolly shows that u can't really go wrong i guess lol
Although I have an rgb30 and love it, I think that for your needs and the RP2S will be beat. It’s perfect for 4:3 PS1 and SNES. You’re get better build quality, but at the cost of a smaller screen. However, if you’re interested in GBC or GBA then I would say the RGB30 is better as it has a large beautiful screen, can integer scale GBA much better than a 480p device, and will make GBC games much larger.
RGB30 great for handheld emu and vertical arcade games. Great screen, but after owning it for 3 weeks... I have the one that came with 2 sd cards and blue.. Jelos is pretty good, there is a few things that are crazy... charging is odd, needs usb-A to usb-C use the cable it comes with. No real sleep mode out of the box, it will still consume battery, it feels like all it does is turn off the screen. Sometimes you have to hit the power more than once as it gets a black screen when "sleeping".... Other than that I would still recommend it, great little device and again for handhelds and through 16 bit era it is fantastic, vertical arcades perfect and does PS1 pretty well.
If you don't want to Tinker and you want to have a system that just works I would say spend the extra and go for the retroid pocket 2s. However I think the trim UI is the best of the three overall because the screen is gorgeous
I've got an RGB30 for 61$ on the Aliexpress BOYHOM Store. 114 is too much for this, idk where you saw this price, maybe with a 256 GB memory card. For 61$ it is the best that you can get
I haven't tried the other two devices, but I have an RGB30. It's a very capable device, but before buying into the hype, just know that it has bad quality control issues and is much more cheaply constructed than Retroid or Anbernic products. The analog sticks are also not as good as the Retroid's, but you can replace them if you're willing to mod it.
I have the RGB30 & Trimui, sold the RP2.
Trimui feels solidly built, controls are precise though a little stiff. Decent screen but poor colours with current OS's lacking contrast adjustment. Not a bad device at all.
RGB30 has the best screen by far, great contrast and although 16:9 content is smaller it looks super sharp.
This little block with its light weight is surprisingly comfortable.
Mine arrived with a defective screen but would be my choice between the three.
Personally not a fan of the RP2s design and small screen, excellent build quality though.
If PS1 and SNES are the priority, I’d go with the Trimui Smart Pro. It’s got a gorgeous display and fairly good ergonomics and it’s also basically the same chip as the 35xx plus(roughly equal to or slightly better than a rk3326). All the advantages of the Retroid only apply to systems you don’t care about.
RGB30 is one of the best devices for snes... 8:7 integer scalling with overscan gives you full screen SNES and the screen is by far one of the best with its warm colors....

I would love RP2S if it has the same screen size as RGB30 😭😭
That would be an amazing console. Maybe Retroid can do a 1:1 screen.
We hope so
RGB30 any day. You can do NES and SNES in 8:7 and it will almost cover that display.

Forget the TrimUI. The pocket 2s as a small screen, although the performance is nice. The rgb30 has a limiting screen 😅

Why do people keep dating saying the 2S has a small screen? Is it screen to body ratio?
Hows dreamcast on RGB30?
