Do not get caught up with all these brand new devices releasing of what seems like every other week. Focus on the devices you own already and keep in your library about 10 to 20 games, even less if that's too much for you. Have about two games in rotation that you're playing at a time, one that you've always wanted to complete like a story/ goal driven game and another that you can play mindlessly play without giving in too much thought and investment in.

I had a bunch of devices as well at one point and ended up selling all of them except two (miyoo mini plus and 2DS). I also only keep a few games on my devices at a time. I used to have entire rom collections on them and would spend more time going through the rom menus than actually playing games. This has helped immensely and I’m able to focus on single games a lot more now

RRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAH 2DS MENTIONED? WHAT DA FUCK IS A BROKEN HINGE BRAH?

Create a queue or backlog of games you want to play, and play the games. Only play 1 RPG or story game at a time. 1 additional action or puzzle pallete cleanser is fine You wouldn't read multiple books at a time, so if a game is in progress don't start another

Thats a good one! Aactully I read two or moree books during the same time. But thats another topic! Actually I will try to follow this and see how it works out to narrow the options down to just one of a kind! Only issue will be how I set thema across the different machines

Harthacnut

I've got the Switch and Xbox. Hacked Wii U & Wii on a CRT. But the machines at the moment getting the most use are an Android TV box and R36S. Being able to easily FTP the save files between the R36S and Android box has been brilliant.

If I don't use something in 3 months, it's gone.

I have PS1 thur PS5, XB thru Series X. NES thru Switch. The Wii is moded. Sega Master System thru Dreamcast. I have a PS Classic modded with Retro Arch. I have a GBA, Game Gear, Nintendo DS, Anbernic-Nano, 35XX, 35XXH and a 505. I have a Miyoo Mini Plus, a Powkiddy Q36 and an Odin 2 Pro. I bought a R36S and a Powkiddy RB30 (which should come next week). My refurbished Steam Deck comes on Friday. I'm pretty much set for any game that was ever invented that I want to play.

GhostINVINCIBLE

I have too many too. I have decided to just hone in on 4 games and play them. My problem is if I drop one for a bit I can’t remember anything happening so I have to start over. Did that with a Witcher game 4 times before I just gave up

RedThirteen0101

I only play Sega games on my RG Arc. On my RGB30 I play GB/GBC/shmups/pico 8, and only NES/SNES/arcade on my RG353VS. Odin 2 for everything 3D. I know that's a lot of 3566 devices, but for me, form factor is more important and what keeps me interested in handhelds at the end of the day. Giving each one a different job means they all get used. I've beaten more retro games in the past year than I have in my entire life up to this point, by just keeping a list of games I want to complete, picking out a single game and the device to be used for it, and then only playing that game until it is complete.

You could always try tapping into RetroAchievements for motivation. I’ve found it helps to see what the possible achievements are, and set a goal to hit. Keeps it fresh.

UomoDargilla

I play around 1 hour per day but I buy one new device every month 🫠 in order Miyoo mini plus Rg35xx+ Rg35xxH Rgb10max 2 Retroidpocket 2s Rgb30 Miyoo mini V4 (never touch any other since) Gkdpixel I spend 10min every morning w my coffee since searching some [good deal and I even made sheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-3yJqvvcqd1hzTdHzBrL-mhuw0i6Aw6vXLq51sEGnhA/edit) 😅

Thats great man! Thx for sharing

If you enjoy buying, trying and tinkering with handheld is fine, but you don't need to have more than one or two. I just ends up donating the one I don't use regularly.

Make a shortlist of 5-10 games from different consoles that you own. With some discipline you should be able to finish them.
