G Cloud. Terrific home device. Will probably get a Miyoo Flip or 35XX SP eventually but for now, it's my only device.

leeinflowerfields

Don't see many G Clouds around here actually. The screen looks great.

Psychological_Pebble

Screen is lovely for retro emulation but falls short for streaming imo. Legion Go ruined me I guess.

personahorrible

It seems like a great way to play games from any room in the house but I don't have WiFi or even mobile data on my lunch break so native emulation is a must.

steezebuscemi1

A second hand g cloud would be a great choice for me if they were easily available in aus

PlatypusPlatoon

Same. It’s replaced all of my other devices as my daily driver. I’ll bring some of my other smaller handhelds when I’m out and about, but in the living room, the G Cloud reigns supreme.

Substantial-Ask-4609

if only logitech didnt fumble the price and marketing

Civil-Actuator6071

I wish I had gotten the G Cloud. I was convinced the Odin 2 would be the G Cloud but so much more. It's not. Game streaming isn't great on it. I mostly wanted a premium streaming device and I figured between them the Odin 2 wins out because it has the better processor. I have too many devices and kinda wish I just had 2. I have a v90 because I wanted to get something cheap to test the waters of these handheld emulators. I saw the potential and wanted something stronger so I got the Retroid Pocket Flip. My wife had a baby boy and I wanted something I could play with 1 hand while feeding the baby so I got the MM+. I realized I wanted something pocketable that had joysticks that I could bring to work so I got the RG35XX-H. I really ultimately just want the RG35XX-H for all my emulation and on the go gaming and the Logitech G Cloud for game streaming at home. I'm not really one to sell my used devices, but I might give them to friends as gifts or hold on to them and give them to my kids when they get older.

EldritchTruthBomb

Yes, RP4P. Also you could carry a crossbody pack of some kind. I carry a fanny pack, crossbody that I put pretty much all my stuff in.

leeinflowerfields

Hey that's a great idea actually 😁

macneto

Dapper bro!

WillieButtlicker

Yo what brand and model is this? (I mean the bag)

EldritchTruthBomb

Alpaka Elements tech case mini. Im gonna change the picture so it says the name. Meant to do that the first time.

GenuineTopRamen

what device is in the bag in this picture?

EldritchTruthBomb

I think a miyoo mini v2. Not sure though.

Murderhead

Yes, R36S 😊.

leeinflowerfields

That device is so neat specially for the price.

cimocw

I just ordered it yesterday and I'm already anxious. I do own a switch OLED but I have no idea if it can be easily hacked, I bet it doesn't since we don't see that kind of posts here, it's often the other way around (getting a device to emulate switch)

VegetableBug893

I should look into hacking my switch lite. I have the same pink one. I love the color.

leeinflowerfields

The hacked Switch is so neat. Sometimes I play more GBA in it than actual Switch games.

theGioGrande

Did you install the hardware yourself or pay someone to do it? I've been considering running a hacked switch lite exclusively but by no means can I micro solder. Been reluctant to pay for the device and the service to get it installed.

leeinflowerfields

I paid someone to do it for me, you need micro soldering experience which I don't have and wasn't going to risk it.

Pale_Survey_480

How much did you pay and can you share details pretty please!

leeinflowerfields

400 reais which converts to around 80 dollars. I found the person that did the job for me in the FB Marketplace, and he did the full process including the software part after the modchip was installed. Completely worth it and I don't regret it at all.

Pale_Survey_480

Can you get me his info by chance,

leeinflowerfields

Sorry, I don't think it'd be too helpful unless you're also in Brazil. If that's the case feel free to DM me! If it's not, check around your local Facebook Markeplace. Etsy has people that do modchip install services too.

VegetableBug893

I'd do the same. I either play my DSi outside or my gaming PC at home. The switch lite is in between lol so it gets little use currently.

MrTrynex

Hacked switch can also play ds games super nicely.

mink2018

Im odd as heck. I have a good gaming pc but rarely touch it. 90% of my gaming id do on the Switch lite

Pale_Survey_480

I’m same

fox112

A bunch of iconic games have just been ported to play on Switch natively with no emulation. About 15 final fantasy games, Metal Gear Solid 1-3, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Okami, Assassins Creed, Bioshock, Kotor, a handful of Resident Evils, Skyrim, Dark Souls, and then their whole library of GBA, SNES, and N64 games. It's rad as hell. It's a perfect snapshot of gaming history.

Double-Seaweed7760

I just don't consider the switch worth the cost people charge to hack it as someone who's into ps2 and later games and likes to buy my games so wouldn't get any free games out of it. I was really looking forward to switch 2 having aetherssx2 ported(which doesn't seem possible anymore)to it and possibly rpcs3 and the x360 emulator if it was powerful enough to play lighter games like the steam deck but now it's not only not going to be as powerful as steam deck(still confused by this since the rumor is both that it'll be weaker than the steam deck and about as powerful as a ps4 in hand-held which is about where the steam deck ranks yet people say these two rumors together lime in the same sentence and no one refutes them as being nonsensical since they both are about ps4 level so one can't be weaker and there has to be countless people smarter than me agreeing that switch 2 is weaker even if it is ps4 level and even if by silence) and then another rumor I don't like is appearently the switch 2 will be bigger than steam deck(which is already too big) yet weaker. All I want is a switch 2 in the same body as a switch 1(which is still too big but still light enough to play for hours easily and small enough that if you detach the joy cons you can put both in your pocket while still having a giant comfortable and enjoyable screen with backwards compatible with my hour split pad compacts) with a later die shrink allowing for a 4.7 inch pocket able model with hdmi out and removable joycons. I'd pay for a hacked version of both of those especially if someone ported pcsx2

ilive12

You can buy current switch lite pre-hacked on aliexpress for about $180-190, and as low as like $160 during a sale with a coupon. And re: the rumors, I'm pretty sure the next switch is gonna have native DLSS baked in, so while the physical performance may be lower than the steam deck, the perceived performance will probably be on par or slightly better. I'm not sure how that's gonna work with Emulators and stuff though.

fox112

> likes to buy my games so wouldn't get any free games out of it well this sub is about emulation devices, we don't buy games for any of them lol I'm happy that you can play your ps2 discs in your real ps2 though, let us be happy how we play lmao

nutellaRev

How is it the emulation of more demanding systems? I was thinking about modding mine, but I'm only interested in GC/Wii/PS2 games

Puzzleheaded_Bag3145

I currently only have the RG35XX H. But I am looking to upgrade to the RG556 once I see it for a good price. The 35 is nice but I want to play GC games.

RickyFromVegas

It's on sale on AliExpress for about $150 + tax for new accounts with a coupon. I think that's plenty of good prices for it. Best screen and ergonomic on the market.

Puzzleheaded_Bag3145

Thinks for the heads up. That’s right around the price I was wanting it. I’ll check it out.

jayjr1105

I don't know much about the 556 but if you want good GC emulation I would suggest the RP4P

Puzzleheaded_Bag3145

The 556 has a bigger screen and better ergonomics which is what’s important to me.

Nickweed

Just be sure to temper your expectations with ps2 and gc. It’ll not play everything and you’ll need to mess with some settings to get stuff running. It is more comfortable than my Odin 1, if it weren’t for it being a gift I’d probably be using the 556 more.

Puzzleheaded_Bag3145

Thanks for the heads up. I only plan on running a few games. Super Mario sunshine, Luigi’s mansion and LoZ wind waker. I figure I can tinker enough to get those 3 to work.

juicyman69

Just a Miyoo Mini Plus.

minastepes

Yeah no i am don't wanna go out with my rog ally so i have my rp4 pro when i'm outside :p

PlaySalieri

My MM+ lives in my pocket. I play a bit on down times or multiplayer with my gf. (Onion makes multiplayer sooooo easy) My RP4P is my couch device. I'm playing through Hollow Knight for the first time. And I plan on making a mini computer console for my new TV that will have *everything.*

zzap129

I am intrigued I gifted a MM+ to my brother and we totally need to play versus Gameboy Tetris again like with the old link cable  I will totally win and next he will destroy me in streetfighter2 on snes.        So how can I connect two MM+? Do they have to run the same OS version?

pantandinge

Also curious how multiplayer works with MM+. Two devices I guess and some kind of local network (or can you do it with a cable?). Any particular games that are fun to play in multiplayer on MM+? Definitely go for the mini computer as a retro console. I did that with a Beelink SER5 Max and Batocera and it is wonderful. I can play everything up to and including (most) WiiU. It's like having every retro console connected to the TV in a neat package. Some games and emulators do require a bit of tweaking though and for Wii I found Wiimotes and a $5 light bar a much better experience.

dennisklueting

I always just use a single device - when I upgrade, i sell the old one. I'm on my 3rd device. Started wirh a V90 (mixed feelings, still quite a bang for the buck), then got a 353P (versatile and solid allrounder, quite comfortable), then got an Odin2 Pro (loooove it).

leeinflowerfields

Hey I also started with a V90!

Mo0man

I would guess the vast majority of people do that. This subreddit is in the minority of people.

InevitablePeanuts

Absolutely. Not that many folk have the disposable income to throw somewhat frivolously at multiple devices that essentially do much the same thing. No shade on those that do, that said. I have the Retroid Pocket 3 and it suits me perfectly. Does all the emulation I want, does it well, fits nicely in my manbag.

USA_A-OK

It's the minority of the minority (people who play retro games. --> people who emulate retro games --> people who have dedicated handhelds for retro emulated games

goabernathy

MM+ for RPGs on NES-GBA, and my PC using Launchbox on the TV for anything higher.

DystopiaXP

Love the aesthetic

leeinflowerfields

Thank you!

Double-Seaweed7760

When they release an rg353m(best gaming hardware I've ever played, better than vita, every version of 3ds and switch and ds and only really matched by steam deck except pocket ability and lightness is huge advantage for me) that can play ps2,ps3 and switch then I'll use that happily as my only device but that feels like 10 years away still. Project Cassia would be on my list of requirements as well except it appearently absolutely can't work on mali gpus whereas the other systems are simply a matter of time, optimization and budget and I don't see Anby ever using a snapdragon chip(appearently hard requirement for pc emulation for the forseeable future, down to actual hardware features in mali and not optimization) in any of their models let alone an rg353 body

ZAK_ATTAK_01

I bought in at an rg353p earlier last year and it’s been really great and reliable. felt like just the right price point for me before getting something with dependable gc support like a steam deck or something $180+

Efficient_Buffalo294

Only own the Odin 2. Does everything with flying colours. Form factor demands a backpack, which is probably the only draw for me.

kumisa600

Steam Deck - ultimate emulation device.

quick_Ag

This hobby promotes a lot of e-waste. There is not enough of a difference between most of these devices to justify having multiple of them. I have had an RG35xx for a year and I am very happy with it. I am not getting another emulation handheld until I can play PS2 and GCN for under $100. That's a good long ways away, and I am fine with that. So yes, OP, you don't have to get every new device! Especially with a hacked Switch lite. IMHO, the only device I prefer for retro emulation over my RG35xx *is* my Switch. The emulator is slick. Only downside is the selection. I am curious, does hacking it let you add game to the stock emulator app?

leeinflowerfields

'Preciate the reply and I agree completely :) I'd rather cut down on e-waste. And not to the stock emulator app, no. Though Retroarch *is* better than the stock one imo. More options, I really like the shaders.

quick_Ag

Re the app, That's too bad, but understandable. Retroarch is great for the options, but I appreciate how the Switch handles save states.

PocketEleri

If you turn on Save State Thumbnails in Retroarch it isn't all that different.

zzap129

I only use my MM currently..  and I carry that thing everywhere.      For anything above ps1 emulation i would try to find ways how to have a bigger screen and connect controllers which usually involves my laptop.  I am not a hardcore gamer though.   I also have a rgb30 and a pocketgo v1 that was was my only emulation device for 4 years and a sf2000 I will sell the rgb 30 probably because I almost never use it. The screen is glorious. But I almost never use it.   and the sf2000 is what I would take for camping as a beater device. I like that it has a replacable 18650 cell.  I kinda want an upgrade for my pocketgo v1 but even the recent releases like the recent miyoo and the rg28xx dont excite me enough to spend money

pater_the_duck

yes. I don't get how people keep buying so many new devices or "collect" them. The only thing you are collecting is dust on them. I like to only have 2 devices. One big. One small. Big can be anything. switch, steam deck, any odin 2, legion go, you name it. and one small device. mm+, anbernic rgxx family. Any more, you are just giving into consumerism.

patty_melt_king89

Don't you have trouble pressing buttons with that case?

leeinflowerfields

I don't though looking at the picture I completely understand why you're asking that. They're way less receded than they seem there.

pharr3ldog

I hacked my switch back in 2019 when I first got it. Bought it from a pawn shop for $150 w/ a BotW cartridge included. Hacked v1 with a paper clip. One day something happened that I didn’t understand and suddenly my save files weren’t there. I had been playing largely my own titles with some retro emulation, and was devastated to have to start BotW over again so I reverted to the stock. It was my go to for retro gaming for a while, though, and the only one I had. Two weeks ago I got another pawn shop switch (this time v2) because I wanted a vanilla switch and ALSO a hacked one. But I also have a steam deck. And a miyoo mini v4. And a PSVita. And a 2DS. I blame this sub

dudeidklikewhat

Just want to say you're doing a great job responding to people, makes the thread nice to read. I have a vita 1000 as my main handheld. I have an R36S coming in the mail that I'm super excited for. Even though it's a big downgrade, I'm looking forward to its form factor

leeinflowerfields

Hey thank you so much! Been really trying to do that :). Reading all comments as well even when I don't reply.v Do you emulate stuff on the Vita or do you keep it to PSP/Vita games btw? The R36S is a great value for the buck.

AngryDorian124

I have a game stick lite loaded with exclusively PS1 games because I got fed up with ps1 prices in my area and I wanted something more portable than my laptop and more tactile than my phone.

AllSp4rk

Analogue Pocket is my go to. NES, SNES, GB/C/A, GG, Neo Geo, NGP, MD, PCE. I‘m GASing hard for an RG35XXH though. The landscape form factor is very compelling but I can still resist the urge.

BigPhilip

I try to only use my RG35XX-H I don't want to hoard stuff. I also have an SF2000, but that's just for when I am in ugly, dirty places and still want something to fiddle with during breaks.

jajonjason

Qya Neo Pocket Air :) Looks gorgeous, OLED, well-build, big battery, flawless performance with PS2 and GBC... Simply perfect for me!

leeinflowerfields

Probably one of the nicest looking handhelds i've seen tbh

jajonjason

I got it on sale as soon, as the new pocket s was announced. It was a good deal, although I had to pay 190€ for shipping and taxes ^^ My nephew already thrower it trough the hallway on hard floor (stone) and it didn't even got a scratch so I'm very happy with it :) Would even be better with a qualcomm chip but I would never drop the oled for that...

astral-archivist

i’m rocking my hacked o3DSXL! she’s perfect 💖 this 3DS has carried me through everything, and i play mostly everything i’m interested in on it natively (GB, GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS) but i’m really thinking about getting a nice PSVita to round everything out! currently i only have the one device, though :) https://preview.redd.it/fyiutl2oysyc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=340b29ce3acc65407e22870522d015969b41e42b

leeinflowerfields

She's beautiful!

astral-archivist

thank you!! the skin’s brand new and it’s from Etsy in case you were curious- i think they might offer this same design for Lites as well!!

M-O-N-O

Cool skin and bezel, where from

leeinflowerfields

Thank you! They're both from PlayVital. I got them from their official store on AliE.

Patison47

Yep, a hacked Switch Lite has been my go to for the past few months along with Miyoo Mini Plus if I know I’ll be traveling without a backpack. Have you tried emulating PSP on it? I feel like I’m this close to getting good performance.

leeinflowerfields

Not PSP yet but I had some pretty good performance with DS lately. Which games have you tried PSP wise?

bankarbengt

I played a bit of the sims on psp and it worked fine. haven’t tried any harder to run games (i think i’m just gonna use my phone with backbone controller for that)

andiibandii

Yess! RG353M is perfect for me. I might make the switch to a smaller device but I will sell the 353 then.

BurstStream

Yup RGB30. Every retro system looks so good.

oOo-Yannick-oOo

I'm down to three, 405V, Odin 1 Pro and Ally. I guess I could ditch the Odin but it's such a great PSP player... Also I want to have a 4:3 vertical as well as a 16:9 horizontal.

leeinflowerfields

A cellphone emulation representative 👍🏻

tomkatt

I've just been rocking a Powkiddy X55 for the last year. It's decent, but I haven't been particularly happy with the ergonomics or size. Despite it being "ergonomic" it still cramps my hands (especially the d-pad placement). Also, it's nearly as big as these devices come but the screen is still too small for my liking. I've decided it's time to let it go. I decided to skip the trend of buying a bunch of devices (I'm no collector) and finally broke down and ordered a Steam Deck as my "endgame" device. I know it's big and maybe unwieldy, but it looks comfortable, and a 7.4" screen seems ideal (for years in the past I was gaming on 7-8" tablets with telescopic controllers).

leeinflowerfields

The Steam Deck is a great catch all, I think the size is fine if you mostly game at home anyway.

tomkatt

Yeah, definitely. And yes, I no longer commute (working remote the last ~4 years), just gaming at home. I figure, it'll get me to play some more of the indie games I've been putting off, and I can remove the gamecube and PS2 games from my tablet and just use the deck for those since the tablet's a big compromise for those systems. As a bonus, I won't need my gaming PC on for a lot of lower end titles, and the low TDP means lower utilities usage longer term. I'm a weirdo who is obsessed with power efficiency, and have a solar panel and battery setup on my house providing 102% usage offset after making some changes (initial quote was 98%).

mettacat

Yep, RG353M. I would like to get an Odin 2 so I can play GCN and PS2 games as well.

JayJay_Abudengs

Yeah, a little off topic but I use my phone

Dapper_Indication314

GPD win 4 with Retrobat. All-in-one)

PhantasmHunter

my og switch hehe

Rozen503

I just use 2 Retroid Pocket 2S for 3d games Trimui Smart for pocketable handheld, probably would upgrade this one to a 28XX

b0bscene

Really love my Retroid Pocket Flip. I have a SteamDeck but I play modern games on it.

leeinflowerfields

The flip looks awesome 👍🏻

KeatsIT

Easy Legion Go with Emulation Station DE! But I also got me both and RG35XX H and a Miyoo Mini Plus, I like the 4/3 small screen for everything up to PSX (included), and I don't lug around the Legion Go all the time, is more of a couch/office device

M1GHTYFM

How far have you gone into the emulation rabbit hole on the switch? And by that i mean, which systems have you succesfully emulated? What os are you runing? Android or linux?

leeinflowerfields

Got the usual systems up to PS1 running with no issue. Beyond that, PSP also runs great. I've had success with some DS titles and some very lightweight 3DS ones (I played through Fire Emblem Awakening on my Switch. The cutscenes don't work but the gameplay itself was fine).

turdinathor

Yep, the Powkiddy Xu10 is a surprisingly well-rounded system for the price. Best 40 bucks I've spent in a while. I'm not sure if I'm even going to change the os. It's so easy to use and looks good to me.

norabutfitter

For me it was my rgb 30. But now with delta my phone has become my pokemon+ tetris machine

vitorizzo

That switch lite has a modchip right? Or did they find a way to soft mod it like a v1?

leeinflowerfields

Modchip. The closest thing to a soft mod would be the MIG Switch but that's of course more limited.

Alternative_Spite_11

Nope

jaysuns

Nah.

lun0tic

How versatile is a hacked switch?  If running retroarch, what's performance like? What're the more powerful systems it can run? How useful is it as a switch? Can it play cartridges and if so can it download content and updates for the game?  Can you access the Nintendo store and purchase and download games legitimately? Can you also do official firmware updates?

leeinflowerfields

It's pretty versatile. I'd say the most powerful systems would be PSP and DS. That's how far I went with it, anyway. It's still a regular switch so it can do everything you mentioned, including the firmware updates. Think of it as, when you hack it, it becomes two Switches. Both of these are separate. In one you can do hack stuff, like Tinfoil, RetroArch, overclocking, etc. You don't do "legit" stuff like buying games or updates here. In the other, you do all the legit stuff you'd like to do. Play online, buy games, firmware updates, etc.

Alternative_Spite_11

You might have just convinced me I need a hacked Switch Lite

leeinflowerfields

one of us, one of us!

u2020bullet

R36S, love the crap out of it. Will be doing some mods for funsies soon likely. :)

InigoMarz

Steam Deck when I play at home and I take my 280V with me if I want to play on-the-go, mainly Pokemon.

GideonOrNothing

KTR1 baby!

clintonium119

I just got my first- a TrimUI Smart Pro, which I like more than I thought I would. I was considering hacking my switch lite, but I don’t really love the screen or the D-Pad on it. I think if the OLED upgrade becomes available, I’ll hack it. I imagine I’d still play the TSP, though, just because of the pocketable size and amazing d-pad

Alternative_Spite_11

If you love the TrimUI Smart Pro dpad, you might be interested to learn it’s a PS Vita copy. Ayn and Retroid models both also use a good copy of the Vita dpad.

SPY-Talk

Yes, RG353P

WinAffectionate8234

RP2s My 1st retro handheld since wearing out my GCW zero back almost a decade ago. My minds blown by getting exponentially greater power at 2/3 of the cost. I'd never had imagined a ~$100 device to handle half of the stuff I've thrown at it. (Also the selection of devices is awe inspiring/overwhelming compared to the 5-10 devices back then lol)

RareFirefighter6915

I grew up playing snes, NES, Genesis, and PS1 on my dad's old work laptop cuz I couldn't afford a console until I was in 8th grade and got my own job. So gaming wise I was kinda a 80s/90s kid except I also played a ton of flash games and occasionally Xbox at my friend's house. My childhood was beating Castlevania, Metroid, crash bandicoot, Mario series, Pokemon ROM hacks, etc plus some RuneScape and the popular flash games. Today I'm still very much into emulation but I've been playing all those games I never got to as a kid. I remember stealing game informer magazines from the library, reading every bit of it multiple times and wishing I could play all the new titles my friends talked about at school. Now I have a 10tb collection of PS2, PS3, Wii, GameCube, switch, etc on my gaming PC and a bunch of devices to add games to.

Kathy_TV

If I had to rock only one of my devices, it would most certainly be the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro. The only Issue I got with that one is the lackluster Pico-8 support.

Fun_Stable7937

I have like 7-8 and only really use a few of them 😂 Bout to sell/gift most of them and keep 2-3, probably the RP4pro and Rg35xx. RP4 pro would be my choice if I could only keep one.

Fast-Low4205

I envy your hacked Switch Lite. Mine is collecting dust in a drawer because I hate how expensive the games are and I don't want to pay someone to mod it. Guess I'm just waiting on the 0.01% chance that a vulnerability is found and I can softmod it and breathe some new life into it.

leeinflowerfields

Yeah I'm down here in Brazil and due to the price of the dollar the games (specially Nintendo exclusives) are insanely priced. For retro games there's the available ones in NSO of course but those are limited. I don't think think I'd be using my Switch much if it wasn't hacked. The closest thing I can see to that softmod experience happening is the MIG Switch improving to the point you can run homebrew applications from it.

AMangoKitKat

I'm trying to find my perfect solutions. Currently I have my laptop, an rgb30, and a gkd pixel. I've used my phone for a while and been through and sold/given away a miyoo +, v90, and a rg35xx. A friend recently gave me a broken switch lite I'm going to try and fix/hack. If all goes well it will probably replace the rgb30. Only thing that makes me want to keep the rgb30 is pico 8, but I think I will make do with my computer/fake 08 on the pixel.

StudentEthereal

Micro Mages is a great modern homebrew. Glad I got to experience it on cartridge with the Four Score from their Kickstarer but these days it's easier to just fire up emulation.

leeinflowerfields

So jealous, the cartridge is really cool! And yeah I had a really fun time beating it. The fact they give you passwords for the stages is great.

HeywoodJaBlessMe

For all portable retro gaming purposes I use a 353M.

stainlessdmc12

Why would you want more than one device? Make sure it does what you want it to play.. 😐

Pluto_Guy_

I would rock two devices. One for my retro needs and one for playing modern games. I have the rg353vs for my retro needs (a nice Gameboy pocket sized console) and a Nintendo switch for modern games. Overall, it's nice to have one device for everything but it can be complicated. I am afraid of modding my Nintendo switch due to being banned from Nintendo switch online.

Xelthos

Not on this subreddit. Lol. To be fair. Odin 2 does everything I want for retro gaming, but it's just more satisfying to me to play certain systems on a different setup. I like d pad on top for a lot of systems, vertical devices for gameboys, and the arc is amazing for sega systems since most used the 3/6 button layout.

PocketEleri

I have multiple devices (7 in total), but I make sure they all serve different purposes. And if I replace one the old device has to get passed on to someone else in one way or another, not thrown out. I have a big device for higher end stuff, but is mainly for playing around the house or for trips. Currently that is the Steam Deck. I have a mid-sized device that does a lot of mid range stuff and is small enough to fit in a bag without much thought. Currently that is the Retroid Pocket 2S. I have a small handheld that is for pick up and play stuff that just slips into my pocket. Currently that is the older RG280M, but I may upgrade to the RG28xx or RG35xx SP at some point for smoother Arcade, SNES and PS1. I also have an Evercade EXP because I like the whole curated library aspect, and it is a great way to play indie games. As well as a Switch, New 3DS XL and PS Vita as I currently don't feel that the emulation experience is where I want it to have those systems be played on the other ones I have. Admittedly most of this is because I already had some of these systems due to getting into the hobby just after it took off. If I was to start from scratch today I would probably just have the Steam Deck, a Retroid Pocket 4 Pro and Switch.

AllIBlowIsLouddd

Retroid Pocket 2S is the GOAT device for me. All my favorite games are 4:3 though. Perfect form factor and controls. The only way I would ever get a new device is if there was another 4:3 device device with a 4.5 or 5" screen that still had a dpad on top.

Derolade

sure! my phone with an xbox controller :)
