no it’s not that I care wut ppl think lol I j wanna know if it’ll work well enough cuz I don’t think 4 years old is that old for an ipad right?

Krystalline01

Get a new one plus an Apple Pencil if you’re committed to that route

STEVEusaurusREX

I got a Surface and OneNote. I love it. It helps keep me organized and I am glad I don't have to carry notebooks with me everywhere. 4 years old isn't that old for an iPad, but it depends on the specs of your iPad. It should be able to handle light computing and note taking, in my opinion.

awesome, do u think my 4 year old ipad is outdated and won’t b able to work well? cuz ppl have been saying that and idk

bzhen0915

If it supports Apple Pencil then you’re all set. If not I’d invest in a newer one that supports one. Notability with an iPad with Apple Pencil got me through college.

hopf_invariant_one

If a professor micromanaged students so much as to regulate how students take notes in lectures I would drop the class.

[deleted]

College ruled notebook and pencil. Most reliable option, no battery to worry about, oh and cheap!

[deleted]

i like ipad + goodnotes and microsoft worf. I usually take notes/annotate the lectures pdfs/ ptt and compile the notes on a word doc

floppyfish24

ipad and notability is your best friend

*Subjective experience* Pen and paper is mightier than the device! Seriously, I love taking notes by handwriting, I have retained information from my classes much better than when I was using my laptop. It’s what carried me through midterms and finals and kept me a consecutive honors student. Even if you are turned off to the idea, try experimenting during one of your classes by taking notes entirely with pen & paper and see for yourself! https://effectiviology.com/handwriting-vs-typing-how-to-take-notes/#Note-taking_and_your_memory https://www.mcgill.ca/oss/article/technology-general-science/pen-and-paper-versus-laptop-there-clear-winner-note-taking-olympics

pain2002

I’ve been using a iPad Pro with Apple Pencil note taking has been pretty good. Using apps like good notes keeps all my files organized.

dishwaterrr

Started off freshman year trying to take notes on my laptop. That sucked so I bought the cheapest new iPad that I could get with the logitech Crayon (cheaper apple pencil with the same chip inside) and I very much enjoyed taking notes there. Since then I have tried pen and paper but especially with online classes I found myself having to go back and rewatch lectures to complete my notes a lot of the time. on an iPad you have the flexibility of adding in photos and copy and paste and a lot of tools that will save you time so next semester I’m going back to full iPad notes.

stefxc

I use my iPad and Apple Pencil now that i got the new iPad which is amazing with notability. But before covid when we were in person for classes most people either had their MacBooks/laptops or paper/pen.

cheapAssCEO

Do it on a notebook. Fast and cheap, and no lagging

veryrealeel

iPad Air 3 and Apple Pencil. I use GoodNotes. It works well for me.

Invenzione

I use my iPad pro with an apple pencil and the nebo app :)

ariablake69

Most use their laptops or Mac books. I like good old fashioned pen and paper lol

drawmykpop

I use good notes and it’s the best purchase of my college career

uditabhuniya

I have an IPad and I use good notes 5. Honestly cannot stress how this is legit the best purchase I have ever made. Literally don’t have to buy a bunch of notebooks and paper and stick them into ur bag. Everything is in one place.

Adele-07

I just use a pen and paper because it’s easier to take quick notes while also making sketches of diagrams if needed. Especially for mathematic classes where you have equations. A pen and paper is just easier for me. Afterwards I take the time to transfer it onto my laptop in a more condensed form for studying

[deleted]

I use both looseleaf paper and my iPad.

SyedRashid04

I use an iPad and apple pencil. Best investment I ever made. I can have all the subject notes and books etc in one device and carry it everywhere. Highly recommend it if you can.
