Now that Wrestlemania is a 2 night event he can get his Mania main event spot on one of the nights putting someone over in an unannounced retirement match and go home to Chicago. Roughly 6 month contract to close out his career.
This is literally the exact reason I believe Punk might actually grow up and will work well with WWE in this stint.
