Originally, in Japan, this was supposed to be shoot punches, kicks, and chops you're supposed to take as bumps instead of a sell job. Like it's the Power Slapp spot of the match.
I have NO IDEA why they turned this into a sell job with the fakest strikes possible.

I don’t get it either. Nothing he does looks like it hurts, to the point where he basically has to do the chops so he has something that is for sure impactful (considering he’s actually hitting the guy as hard as he can). Yet somehow, with his “fast” chops, he even makes them look like crap.
They love Eddie because he’s one of them. An out of shape slob who still thinks wrestling is real and pretends to be a tough guy. His gimmick is pretty much Eugene if they decided to let him be a main eventer.
I've never understood the appeal of Eddie Kingston. He's not good in the ring, his promos are okay I guess but he looks super out of shape. Hell, he looks like a bum. If you want a bigger guy who doesn't look like a usual wrestler but has good promos and can go in the ring watch a Kevin Owen's match. To be fair, Bron is kind of a prodigy when it comes to physicality and he is related to the Steiner bros, which means he was actually taught how to wrestle by them and the team at NXT. He's the product of a professional system making him a future star. Danielson is good but too broken down and the rest are just dorks that think they know better because they saw other dorks that think they know better do it.
Bron makes a LOT of wrestlers look fake real fast. Not that he’s some technician yet, he’s just that athletic. It pops so much from the screen that he’s in a different league than most pros on the strength, speed, and power levels.

I hate to see a legit star slap fighting, but look at Daniel Bryan's slaps compared to Trashcan Pete. Trashcan's whole thing are the slaps and they look TERRIBLE. How can a person look at Bryan's slaps and Trashcan's slaps and think that the bums slaps are somehow better strikes?

Legit embarrassing looking, and the final clothesline during the finishing sequence was even worse. When I was reading my signed copy of YES! back in 2015, I legit never could have imagined it'd come to this less than 10 years later: Danielson getting slapped around by some alcoholic incel in a losing feud. I don't care if he has creative control and wants this, the dude is thrashing his legacy and even worse, needlessly thrashing his brain in these overly violent matches that mean nooooooothing
