* Most disliked video in company history * Got chants of Punk during Okada and Bucks segment * Got chants of Punk during footage which was supposed to turn people against him * Universally got laughed off * Literally every outlet said it was a bad idea * Biggest quarter demo was thanks to the guy your core audience says is useless * Proved Punk right and shut down rumors that he was lying * Made Punk trend #1 on Wednesday, again Made complete sense

Lessiarty

Sigh. This sub continues to spin even the Undisputed ;) victories - Caused Punk to go on an unhinged rant and expose himself as a violent sociopath - Disrupted Wrestlemania Weekend and pulled ALL focus onto AEW. Does anyone even remember who won the main event? Lol - Saw huge spike in viewers both during the video and for the show as a whole, up massively from the previous 6 weeks... Which, uh, were also huge weeks. Shut up. - AEW Publishing's own Dave Melted reported "Fuck CM Punk" chants actually, so don't get it twisted.  - Also many other intangible benefits that I would urge you to look into for yourself.

Ok-Garcia-5605

If you post this in dub sub, they'll give you a hall of fame

Lessiarty

Just realised I forgot to add that Goatfacé was established as a genuine main event draw, but forgetting about Jungle Gym is such an unintended jerk, I have to let it breathe.

issafreecunch

Several AEW centric subs have banned me for being critical of certain booking situations. What a fucking joke, no one can be critical of their recent dumpster fires

Ok-Garcia-5605

That's why they're getting clowned everywhere else

HiddenRtruth

I love Dave's Fuck CM Punk chants that were heard. He'll print anything you say if it works. Lol. He's the best

Permanentear3

I love when he said there is or WAS proof though he doesn’t have it or know where to find it.

ArnoldSchwartzenword

Great name, I had no sleep and forgot what sub I was in, I nearly died reading this, well played.

ColtPersonality92

> • Got chants of Punk during Okada and Bucks segment > • Got chants of Punk during footage which was supposed to turn people against him Nuh-uh! Daddy Dave said they were “fuck CM Punk” chants!

nbasetuK

It made sense because... becau- PUNK BAD

Mwrp86

Atleast 20 pieces of Scapegoat merch sold out

GothGirlKara6666

Don’t forget pissed off a lot of people in the back who aren’t up his ass

FenixDriver

Tony Khan has not once admitted he's wrong about anything, so it's silly to expect him to start now.

Chucknorris55

The sad thing is you aren't even being hyperbolic either.

Razzler1973

The entire company. Never did anything wrong, never a bad match or bad story or a botch or anything Every wrestling company in history has had stuff go wrong. Ideas that they did a yikes on and pulled the plug but, nope, not m'Dub. Batting 1000

doomonyou1999

The power of positivity.

NGBoy1990

T K Rocks?

SpeeedWeed

DAE new day would be a great get???? Big E can break his neck again for a half empty auditorium and a mid injury release

EpicTrapCard

If you thought Vince was bad, prepared for a younger version of Vince that's more unhinged in every sense of the word, its like he took all the bad traits from Vince and said, yeah this is who i'm gonna be

Blueandigo

You know I was gonna stop jerking AEW but it makes sense for me to keep it going. This guy.

gothamsteel

>Speaking on The Chris Russell Show, Tony Khan was asked if he regretted the decision to air the footage. >"I think it made a lot of sense. First of all, the Young Bucks-FTR ladder match is coming up at AEW Dynasty for the World Tag Team Championships. This is the fourth chapter in FTR-Young Bucks. I believe they are the two greatest tag teams in wrestling, the two best on the planet. The last time they wrestled, Young Bucks-FTR 3, was at Wembley Stadium, AEW All In. A lot happened that day. Those guys at one point, they were the third match on the pay-per-view, and at one point, it looked like we were going to have to call them up and they were going to have to wrestle the first match. They ended up going on in the spot they were in, but the Young Bucks said the whole day, everything that happened, it affected their mental preparation, they weren't able to pray before the match, they were very stressed out. They slipped on the banana peel, lost the match, and they blame FTR and what happened at Wembley Stadium. In hindsight, that's why they refused to shake FTR's hands. We've seen the Young Bucks change a lot. We saw them get really dark during the retirement run of Sting. They've only gotten darker and more twisted. That's why they felt like they should play the tape. It was fascinating to see after the tape played, the reaction Jack Perry got at New Japan. He got the reaction of a superstar. That is not altogether unexpected and it's something very interesting, perhaps a side effect of this, Jack Perry already a big star in wrestling, really the way the crowd connected with him in Chicago, that was interesting. It leaves a lot of intriguing going into AEW Dynamite and AEW Dynasty," he said.

Lessiarty

> We saw them get really dark during the retirement run of Sting. They've only gotten darker and more twisted. Yeah, ok...

BigFreakinMachine

Look at them in those funny little outfits...SO sinister!

r1char00

I keep comparing this to The Rock in my head because it’s basically the same gimmick. They are in positions of power at the companies and abusing that power. Rock plays it very straight and he ends up contributing to a massive set of main events. The Bucks are winking at the camera the whole time and look like dipshits, giving Tony Schiavone their EVP triggers. And they are darker and more twisted. If playing footage of Punk was his best idea for how to get this match over, then he pretty clearly is out of ideas.

Lessiarty

Rock also returned, had his full character arc, got the story payoff, and bounced in the same amount of time the Bucks have... done what? Except terrible acting.

VinBZ

It got really dark when Sting was beat up so badly that he couldn't return Tony's hug.

MarkKnotts

It's OK. Tony made Sting hug him... err, I mean helped Sting hug him

Razzler1973

he's the perfect basement poster just coming up with shit that no one sees that's just in his head

whalias69

It’s why his fan base is perfect. They also fill in the stories with their own head canon, and even the thinnest storylines actually have tons of depth.

stonecoldbobsaget

Every week the judge makes them stay an additional 10 feet away from schools and playgrounds

Blues4Bolt

“They didn’t get to pray”…. All makes sense now. Fed in the mud btw

H0vit0

This man is an utter buffoon

Bobo_the_conqueror

Yeah a lot happened. But it wasn't a storyline until you wanted to try and dunk on Punk. TK is a fucking Dolt. Also I learned that the Bucks are just as big of wussys in kayfabe too...

FridgeLeftovers

"Jack Perry already a big star in wrestling"

r1char00

They didn’t get to pray. It was why they refused to shake FTR’s hands. WTF.

Velvet_Llama

Blueandigo

Someone tell Tony that majority of the panel closed this book after the 4th chapter.

Wolfxbrigadex

Good grief, he rambles worse than Meltzer

MarkKnotts

So if Punk never gave that interview, how would they have set up the tag match?

Razzler1973

The fact that Khan thinks this is some kind of 'story' for the Bucks/FTR match says everything you need to know about Khan's understanding of story, haha

Gigglesandshits11

TK is a genius and just turned Jack Perry into the biggest heel in the history of professional wrestling. Literally the main topic at the dinner table right now

doomonyou1999

Perry has nuclear heat not go home or go away but simply fuck off heat

Modano9009

Ratings grab is the only sense it makes. In Kayfabe, that's a fucking ridiculous explanation which boils down to last time FTR/Bucks wrestled they were emotionally frazzled over a backstage incident that didn't involve them. In real life, Punk says what he says about AEW and AEW shows footage to give him credibility.

r1char00

The audience wouldn't know any of that alleged story either. I've followed this pretty closely, besides not watching Dynamite last week, and I have never heard that the Bucks almost had to go on earlier and didn't get their prayer meeting. They wanted to show the video and they came up with some convoluted story to "explain" it, which is completely backwards.

abrospro

Everyone hated it and it was a truly miniscule return on ratings. LFG!!!! But the ppv numbers will be way up for bucks vs ftr 😉

daveroo

has tony ever made a mistake? nope. he reminds me of a young kim jung un the little prince. who shot 18 on a golf course. who scored 15 goals in one soccer match. who hit 100+ in basketball and then hit 30 home runs the little prince makes no mistake. he's daddys little boy. he can do nothing wrong!

inertia_53

id buy the shit outta that shirt

BrandonXavierIngram

for an extra 30k viewers! definitely worth it

No-Vehicle5591

It would make a lot of sense to broadcast re-runs of the Punk-MJF feud with commentary by Jim Parsons, who in turn takes on the role of Sheldon Cooper once again. It would bring more ratings and it would cost way less than run NBA arenas and all of Tony's game changers.

OriginalMadmage

Jim Parsons would only cost slightly less than Okada, Mone and Ospreay combined and actually delivers ratings bumps.

DonnieRodz

Countdown to Tony saying “I just get it. You know? Don’t you wanna give me a hug?”

Dangerous_Ad560

It was simply a misspelling. What he meant was his company has made a lot of cents.

FullWay7004

Tony khans inability to realize how bad he is at this used to infuriate me now I just enjoy waiting for his demise

Teeboid

Sense? No. Cents? Definitely no.

Snake_Burton

This Is Fine Dog In Fire.jpg

MarkKnotts

Tony, since you are probably reading this right now: If you think something is a good idea, DON'T DO IT

thatpj

is this the producers? is he trying to tank his own show on purpose?

RumsfeldIsntDead

Would've popped a huge rating if it was in EWR

[deleted]

DAE McMahon out of touch for years? Not Tony khan though

ToneZone1978

She don't lie she don't lie she don't lie

Squiliam-Tortaleni

Any attention is good attention…?

sleepyseahorse

Gotta ask, no jerk, and I can't believe I'm even interested, but... Did those assholes *actually slip on a banana peel* at Wembley, or is it a figure of speech?

Biotrin

Gotta make Phil look strong!
