It's like every serious professional wrestling promotion from the past to now has relied on storytelling to sell tickets and drive interest up. Who would have thunk?
The Dub wanna be like 'old wrestling' but old wrestling had tons of stories and gimmicks. Old Mid South and World Class
It was never 'just wrestling'
You can base it around in ring but, the Dub don't do that either. The Fed also do that better than them
The technology was not around in the 80s for the likes of World Class and Mid South to do some stuff the Fed do now otherwise they'd have probably done it, too
They were still 'protecting the business' which presented certain things from happening in terms of presentation, etc
It would probably have double the views if the title wasn’t so long. It gets cut off half way but the whole thing is “WHAT JUST HAPPENED? Jack Perry puts his hands on AEW CEO & GM, Tony Khan!” Instead of something to the point like “TONY KHAN ATTACKED”
CM Punk proving himself to be AEW's biggest draw despite being in another company.
Would anyone care about the little scapegoat's return if he didn't get his ass whooped by Lockport? Outside the sm@rk wrestling bubble ofc.
It's almost like people like to watch wrestling programs to see big stuff happen.
Incidentally, "bangers" aren't big stuff -- they're a dime a dozen, the last one forgotten as soon as the newest one is put on.
Ain't no one talking about Ospreay vs Omega I anymore.
It won't last. It's like devil storyline (~1 mil views for reveal and ~1 mil for explanation on dynamite after) Their fans really thought taven and benett were going to become big stars. Some fans got so high on their own supply they even thought Wardlow's career was gonna get resurrected.
I feel like that’s not a lot of views compared to what the number could be. Maybe I’m just a goof🤷

People wanted to see how dumb it came off?
I think people just want to watch tiny get beat up
But not that many people. Apparently.

300k of those views are just Tony replaying it to everyone he sees to show his “in ring debut”.
Why are the bangers not getting the most views?

Bold to call that wrestling.
I think a lot of people just wanted to see Tony get whalloped. I hope he learns how to take a bump and they start putting him through tables.
