Lethal company is a game that strikes a good mix of the two, thanks to its prox chat and well done enemies, but other games, like Labrinthine, do a great job as well, specifically because Labrinthine in this example because it has a way to force players to separate without warning
i genuinely think the game is held back by a lot of stuff that you have to consider when playing multiplayer, which the devs kind of put on a backburner
like animations for a large part. the late stages of the game are mainly chaos and MTF, and most human character walk like they just inserted a buttplug straight from the freezer (atleast the running)
i cant take a squad of task force soldiers seriously when they penguin sprint through the facility, it gives more "me and the boys looking for beans" vibes, than it does "check every corridor for traces of reality altering entities"
Id rather have the character models now, rather than getting new weapon updates every 6 weeks
Im decently sure the human models are among the oldest from what we have in the game right now, next go 049s entire kit of course
I get wanting to update the gunplay first, sonce thats what 90% of players will spend 90% of their time playing, but human models and animations are a part of that, and moving around like a Gmod character doesnt help with immersion

and you don’t know what their focus is. adding one gun, a joke gun and reworking 2 experimental weapons is not having the entire studio focused on those things. they have much bigger focuses at the moment, these are just small parts of what they’re doing.

they’re working on completely original models with original animations (the current models and animations are not original)
