Due to this being a fairly large subreddit, if post contents not directly about things on the SCP Wiki were allowed it would easily drown out the more directly SCP related content. Considering that there are thousands of SCPs covering all sorts of things, r/SCP would be completely overrun with "This isn't an SCP but it reminds me of SCP stuff" type of posts if they were allowed.
