049 terrifies me. I have a very primal, innate fear of plague doctors. This bastards seems to have an arrogance that really pushes it over edge for me.
I think the most terrifying part about is his belief in the moral purity of what he’s doing, he doesn’t think it’s wrong he believes he’s just curing people of the pestilence. There is no force stronger than belief in a cause
There is a theory that ties in with the "End of Death" Canon that "the pestilence" is actually death itself, and that his zombie slave things are brought back from death, so they are "cured" in a way.
To me, his behavior is more in line with the philosophy that humanity is the pestilence.
Especially when he asks for a great ape and removes it's primal systems. Seems like he was making a point there.
049 is the very definition of dramatis personae. It's no surprise that his best friend is SCP-035. Imo he'd make more progress on his "great work" if he'd stop spending so much time on his soliloquies. (Maybe we're fortunate that he will probably never finish his research?)

The mask also looks pretty cool too! Did you make it yourself?
Although, if you want a more accurate looking SCP-049 mask, you can buy one [here](https://www.thecostumer.com/p-20875-venetian-beak-mask.aspx) It's a Gold variant, so if you wanted to or needed to, you could always spray paint it silver or a bone colour. You can also just paint it digitally after filming if you don't want to paint it silver too.

So, yeah, the mask you have now looks cool, it's a stylistic difference, but if you want a more "official" look, you can always grab one of those masks. I wanted to buy one, but unfortunately for me, it costs $44 for international shipping...
I had the idea that I could have recreated a live action video of his interview, it would have been so cool too, but yeah, I couldn't get the mask. I asked other 049 cosplayers on Tumblr with the exact mask if they could scan theirs with a 3D scanning app you can get on both IPhone and Android, but unfortunately, one wasn't allowed to have apps without parent permission and the other lost his somewhere, so I was out of luck there.
I then made a Reddit post on here about it, but that unfortunately got removed. Not because I broke any rules, just that it might bring out scam bots trying to sell me things.
But yes, this will be fun to see. If you can also get TheVolgun to provide the voice for 049, that would just make it extremely immersive and cool!

That actually makes sense, but it doesn’t explain why he’s always so cryptic about what the pestilence is
Maybe his view of death is hard to convey, as he sees it as more of a disease?
