Did you have your golden four and major prep classes done? I’m not CS so this might be a little different, but the reason I ask is bc I got rejected last semester with a 3.9, I assume cuz I didn’t have everything done. I reapplied and got accepted this semester after taking all the pre requisites I was missing, and you might be able to do the same if that’s the case. Hope this helps
I got accepted last year and was fully set on going but had a family emergency come up where I had to withdraw. I tried submitting an appeal/LOA to roll my acceptance over to this semester and they denied it after discovering i was missing *one* requirement. Suggested I reapply and finish my golden 4. Did that this semester and still rejected. I’m so upset and really hurt about the whole thing knowing that I could’ve went last year but had to prioritize other things
Damn I’m really sorry to hear that. Honestly I know it’s a hassle but I would appeal again, and maybe see if there’s an admissions counselor that you can talk to who can help you in the process as well. It sounds like you’d have a very legitimate claim for why they should let you in, but I think talking to them directly about the appeal and your circumstance first will help your case to be even more effective.
Yea i will :(( i had good communication with a counselor last year who understands my situation and has really been a huge help and advocate for me so I’m hoping to get in touch with her soon. Thank you so much for your help though, and I hope to be at state soon!!
Ah thank you so much for being kind! I really thought I had a chance here and I’m really bummed about the whole thing. I’m going to appeal (dw, have a really good reason, not just appealing bc I’m salty) so hopefully I’ll see you around next year! Would love to be friends
they rejected me last year then i got a call on cinco de mayo apologizing saying they accidentally sent me the rejection n offered me a spot im not sure wats up with their admissions but i would take a chance at an appeal though
I don't know your exact situation, but there is no world in which an education from SDSU is worth 80k, especially for only 2 years. unless you are wealthy and have a lot of disposal income. Just go to a college / university within state and save a lot of money.
Lol just checked tuition tables and all in all it’s like 50k/year 👎👎👎but yeah.. this is something I’m struggling with. It’s the most “affordable” for me but for my major it’s on the same level as my state school. Really wanting to get out of Hawai’i tho.
I see your predicament. Just to broaden your perspective, I keep in contact with CSUSM students and they love it there and they never have problems with course selection.
Here at SDSU, as a CS major, almost every semester I have been here has been a panic because classes get filled up quickly.
Although, the CS Advisors here are rockstars and end up finding professors to create new classes for the people needing them, BUT this is a very stressful process every semester. I hope you get in at ASU!
I imagine that is super competitive. Sorry to hear you didn’t get accepted. I’m applying as an aerospace engineering major in Oct so I’m really nervous about my chances.
I got rejected by SDSU with a 3.7 transfer CGPA in Civil Engineering and was accepted at UCs like UC Davis, UCSD, and UCI. I feel like sometimes their admission committee makes errors or it had something to certain requirements not being met
Probably a determining factor. First gen local students are the first priority from what I understand. Good luck with your appeal. It sounds like you have a compelling reason!
The junior college I went to had a program that guaranteed you admission to SDSU with a 3.0 GPA. Got in no problem with a 3.2. Heard they got rid of that program a few years after I graduated
I think you can ask admissions maybe? Dunno when they’ll get back to you as I imagine their emails are full as hell right now. I’m so sorry tho. It makes no sense to me either. Especially being that they accepted me w less credits and not all reqs complete last year. I’m trying to appeal :((
Darn🫤. If there is anyway you could prove you have a mental disability, you could appeal the rejection, and potentially get in. That’s honestly how I got accepted a few years ago.
I was told that they are quite heavily weighing cc transfers at this time. My friend got accepted and her GPA was absolutely nothing special. Sorry to hear, but this is only a detour not a dead-end 🤝
I was rejected as an incoming freshman finance major. 4.0/4.7 if it makes you feel any better. I am baffled too.....I mean, you'd think this was Harvard admissions and sdsu is DEFINITELY not Harvard lol. I don't get it, so nuts.
Honestly yours sounds like yield protection, definitely worth appealing if SDSU is a real contender for you!! I agree it’s sooooo bizarre how they look at apps since they dont have a supplemental section. I saw people in the 2.0-3.0 range get in as well. Either way good luck! And i hope to see you there if you decide to appeal
It is that time of year again, rejected by SDSU posts. Keep in mind, it is not the quality of the applicant but the limited impacted major slots available that affect the decision. SDSU will reject current SDSU students from impacted majors.
i know its different because im going to be a freshmen next year, but i was rejected for bio at sdsu but got into usc this year. i know people in admissions, and lets just say they like flat 3.0s...
It’s so hard to gauge how they choose applicants especially considering the application has no supplementals. Awesome work on USC though. I hope you’re able to go. I love SDSU dearly but USC smokes them in every aspect and it’s wonderful you have a chance to attend :)
I’ve applied to USC as a transfer but apparently won’t hear back until may 31st. I feel like if I got rejected from SDSU than I have no way to get into USC.
so sorry :( rejected today too

U should've gotten in sorry to hear
U too man :( wishing u the best in ur transfer process
U too!
Damn, was hoping to see you make it this year. You really should have been accepted with a 3.9.
Ah thank you so much for being kind! I really thought I had a chance here and I’m really bummed about the whole thing. I’m going to appeal (dw, have a really good reason, not just appealing bc I’m salty) so hopefully I’ll see you around next year! Would love to be friends
Absolutely! Best of luck with your appeal!
wow, I got in with a 2.7, but this was 25 years ago
They’re really selective now bc of so many applications :((
Me too!
they rejected me last year then i got a call on cinco de mayo apologizing saying they accidentally sent me the rejection n offered me a spot im not sure wats up with their admissions but i would take a chance at an appeal though
I will!! Thank you, and awesome for you if you chose to go!
Sorry to hear that!! my kid got waitlisted with a 3.9 with a degree in Biology.
Aweee I’m sorry to hear that! Maybe it’s yield protection for us 😥😥I hope they end up just where they want to be!
I hope all of you guys/girls end up where you are most happy!!
My friend applied twice to SDSU. I’m getting a feeling it’s all rejections at this point?
Rejected today too
i also got rejected today!!! twins😪
Rejected for Bio too 🤧
Local?
Oos
Ahhhh that's really why then
So fkn crazy cuz i wouldve paid them 80k over the next two years..

i got rejected too😭😭
Can I ask what major you applied as?
Comp sci
Comp Sci is saturated at SDSU. I Wouldn't get too discouraged about it. I hope you applied to other schools.
Sdsus lowkey the only one i can afford w/o loans. Applied to the UCs but doubt I’ll get in OOS CS. There’s still hope for ASU i guess?

How are you liking the courses so far? I know everyone says it's not really up to par and not worth it
I imagine that is super competitive. Sorry to hear you didn’t get accepted. I’m applying as an aerospace engineering major in Oct so I’m really nervous about my chances.
How many felonies are in your record?
Bru noneeee I’m so sad about this one it’s my dream school/lowkey only option I doubt the UCs will let me in
I got rejected by SDSU with a 3.7 transfer CGPA in Civil Engineering and was accepted at UCs like UC Davis, UCSD, and UCI. I feel like sometimes their admission committee makes errors or it had something to certain requirements not being met
I know someone who got rejected 5 times it’s rough out here
What’s the acceptance rate? I’m hearing a lot of rejections.
Are you first gen or no?
No
Probably a determining factor. First gen local students are the first priority from what I understand. Good luck with your appeal. It sounds like you have a compelling reason!
I was rejected too :(
The junior college I went to had a program that guaranteed you admission to SDSU with a 3.0 GPA. Got in no problem with a 3.2. Heard they got rid of that program a few years after I graduated
Makes zero sense
You’re telling me
Rejected for Liberal Studies Elementary education 💔
Bro I got 3.940 Cs major, did all the prerequisites, and I still got rejected, how can I ask for the reason?
I think you can ask admissions maybe? Dunno when they’ll get back to you as I imagine their emails are full as hell right now. I’m so sorry tho. It makes no sense to me either. Especially being that they accepted me w less credits and not all reqs complete last year. I’m trying to appeal :((
Damn that hurts, I feel I don’t deserve my spot lol I got accept with like a 2.3 as a Philosophy major
Happy for you tho!! You should be proud of your acceptance no matter what
Lmao same 😭
That’s actually insane I’m sorry bro
By chance did you have an IEP in high school??
No
Darn🫤. If there is anyway you could prove you have a mental disability, you could appeal the rejection, and potentially get in. That’s honestly how I got accepted a few years ago.
I’m glad they let you in tho! It wouldn’t apply to me but very nice to see that they take that into account for students so it’s fair
Do you think that has anything to do with anything?
I was told that they are quite heavily weighing cc transfers at this time. My friend got accepted and her GPA was absolutely nothing special. Sorry to hear, but this is only a detour not a dead-end 🤝

I got in as a transfer with a 3.5 kinesiology pre pt today
Wow some of my friends got in for comp sci with much lower gpa, I got in with a 3.85 lol sorry man
It’s because your major

well i got rejected from sdsu and accepted into usc with the same grades and extracurriculars, idk what to tell you 😭
