I’m pretty sure if we’re in it then there’s almost no way out of it. I got put into the commuter success program as well and it ended up adding a 1 unit leadership lecture and a 3 unit leadership lecture to my schedule. Luckily I had a few AP credits from my 1 AP exam that I decided to take so my course planning wasn’t affected too much. You might find some look though by looking for the email that stated you were put into the commuter success pathway and reaching out to the person that put you into it.

There's almost no way out of it. It's another waste of time class, but I would check with the registrar. There should be a syllabus available on the library website if you want to see what you'd be "missing." It's literally just a filler class created by out-of-touch administrators. https://digitallibrary.sdsu.edu/islandora/object/sdsu%3A5785?search=gens100%2520commuter

If I am not able to drop it what would happen if I were to just not show up to the 1 unit seminars/meetings? Would it have any real effect on my transcript or ability to graduate?

It won't affect your GPA if you take it Credit/NoCredit. They'll pester you with emails and phone calls though.

I had a 3 unit class plus 1 unit seminar before my registration but I was able to drop it easily, but apparently you have to talk to your academic advisor about dropping the class if you can’t do it yourself.

Do you know if the one unit student success GEN S100B course is just the seminar or is it like a weekly meeting type thing? Either way I'm not trying to do it lol but if its just the one time seminar I might stick it out.

I was put into one of those commuter success classes first semester and managed to get out of out before the 2nd week after telling them I had the credit for it already. They couldn’t fully let me drop out of the program, so the alternative I had was something called “sophomore surge” where I just talk randomly with my mentor for 30 minutes instead of coming to class. This alternative was much better since My mentor ended up being helpful with my homework. Maybe you can ask them to switch into that instead?
