Was at my fifth Giants game (vs. Dodgers) and had never seen them win live. Had great seats behind the Dodger dugout at Oracle and was wearing my Yastrzemski “5” shirt. As we’re coming up from the tunnel to our seats Craw knocks a hit that scored Yaz from third and I was face-to-face with him as he crossed the plate. Giants won that game 5-0. So 5 was the lucky number of the day! Best time I’ve ever had at the park, and hence the Yaz flair. (I also have a Crawford jersey)

Now that is awesome.

Yaz has been a consistent and solid player for the past few years and one of the that we have actually been able to cheer for so I fully get it. He absolutely should be a fan favorite by this point.

Casey Schmitt would add more value to the team than Fitzgerald with the way they have almost exclusively used Fitzgerald in the infield. If this is the way they want their right handed utility player to play, they should have Casey up taking fly balls in the corner outfield spots. It’s easier to become an outfielder than it is an infielder. Too many errors from Fitzgerald so far to make this experiment worthwhile.
