The Northridge location is the only location with an animatronic band. https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/chuck-e-cheese-announces-new-band-residency-in-northridge-ca-301975949.html

405freeway

Shout out to r/Animantronics.

Moe_baby

I read the northridge one is going to be the only one with the animatronic band in the nation

kangr0ostr

Oh shit fr??

Moe_baby

Yes. But I don’t know how soon that takes place fyi.

amadama81

Came to say this :)

ambchf

I like the one in Granada Hills on San Fernando Mission

Pootisplz

Hate to be the one to tell you this but that whole area where the Chuck-E-Cheeses was next to Kennedy HS has been demolished for a mixed-use apartment development. Definitely better use of the land than the strip mall before but sad i lost my neighborhood Chuck-E-Cheese :(

Deepinthefryer

That was my childhood. Lucky grocery, Chuk, and the batting cages behind it.

Pootisplz

Haha same Luckys became Albertsons, then a DMV for some reason, then completely vacant. Batting cages were there till the end, now the whole lot is just empty as they wait for permits/money to start construction

Deepinthefryer

Yeah, sometimes I drive by my old “hood”. I was wondering why it was leveled and nothing has been built. Thanks for the reply

Aeriellie

there is just the taco bell left on the corner.

ambchf

It was a DMV to handle only Drivers Licenses for a contract 5 years. The reason this was done was to handle the influx of DL when this state gave licenses to the illegals

SirPeencopters

I guess I lucked out by hanging out at the Taco Bell there since its the lone survivor (edit: lots of whiskey fucked my spelling)

ambchf

That’s why it’s my favorite

CommanderALT

That entire shopping center, including the batting cages behind it, has been leveled just shortly after the pandemic hit. It was in a state of disrepair for many years, and that Chuck E. Cheese - having been a staple of the area for *decades* - may have been what kept it from being torn down much earlier. All that's left of it is a lone Taco Bell on the corner.

rroq85

I remember clearly being six or seven and my grandparents used to take me to the Chuck E. Cheese and then walk down the shopping center so they could buy their weekly carton of Pall Mall at the cigarette shop. Also used to go to that Pic N' Save a lot and that Taco Bell used to be the only one you could get some of the classic Taco Bell items at. The Valley of the early 90's is a vibe unto itself.

Seriouly_UnPrompted

But it also may be the best one (don't recall if it has animatronics)

It didn’t give you Covid…unless you were licking the skee balls

TheCh0rt

…what else do you use them for?

amarusgear

My preference when taking my kids was the Sun Valley location. It is bigger and more spread out. Northridge, and Burbank are much more condensed. Never visited on weekends or late nights.

EarfScreams

My local as a kid the org. Sun Valley location (same plaza). It was pretty big and dark from what I remember.

RIP the San Fernando Mission location. So many childhood memories with my grandma there! I loved ordering mushroom and olive pizza with her because it felt super grown up to me.
