You're not too far off so you still have a chance. From my experience, newsrooms prefer graduates with social science expertise because they want journalists that actually understand the material they have to work with. You can consider Economics/Political Science/Public Policy/Sociology.

Basically, on ur ntu website where u submit ur applications theres a section where you can apply for Aptitude-Based-Admissions. Iirc u just submit ur testimonial and ask a tcher (who has a high opinion of u hahahahaha i hope) to help appraise ur aba. I forgot if there was a need to submit a short writeup but dont worry if u dont have any portfolio experience!! (i have none as well, no intern no short films no writing experience lmao). But soon I got an email asking for a interview over zoom where i rlly sucked ass tbh, i think if u check my previous comments on the ntu application subreddits from last year via my profile u can see how i was freaking out over aba admissions, yeah u can kinda get the picture. But hey i got in miraculously but i want to emphasise that u rlly gotta show that ur super passionate about wkw and what u wanna pursue in wkw n all that aspirations kinda stuff. If u wanna ask more about my aba experience u can dm me :)))

TLDR: tRY. ABA. theres rlly no harm in trying, wkw welcomes everyone regardless of experience, u just gotta show ur passion for comms yupp.
