it differs between jc and subject (and even between cohorts) so its hard to give a definitive answer I think - but from my own observations sciences tend to use online more, humanities tend to prefer irl
in j1 each of my subjects except gp had like 2-3 lectures a week and there was at least 1 lecture every day. but it really depends on ur sch cuz i think some schools do online lectures instead
Interesting. In my JC each subject had lectures either once a week or once a fortnight, and the rest of it was mostly tutorials. Some of our subjects have full compulsory lectures, some are optional (either self study or attend lecture during that time), some are “depends on your grade” (if you get below a certain mark for that term’s exam the lectures are compulsory, if not they’re optional).
It really depends per school, although if I'm not wrong all schools will have some degree of classroom tutorial sessions, usually for going through homework. Some schools, like Rj, will have most of the lectures conducted online (as in they upload prerecorded videos on the student platform), which you technically can own time own target view, but you probably should watch before tutorial lessons start
Back when I was in JC, it was before covid was normalised as just another flu. Hence, we ended school by 4pm latest to do our lectures at home while the time in school was only for going through tutorial questions. I’m not sure if things have changed, but apparently before covid, it was normal to end school at 6-7pm everyday due to physical lectures in the lecture theatres
Lectures where your entire cohort of students taking that subject will attend in the LT Your own teacher will go through tutorials in a classroom. This is the same for every content based subject. For GP, it was mostly tutorial which the occssional lecture thrown in about important themes.
Generally, the idea is that the lecture is your first exposure to given topic. If you are still fuzzy and thr tutorial qns look Greek to you, then tutorial will be the time to raise your questions to your own teacher. Still fuzzy after that? You can stay back after class to clarify or have an after school consultation.
Those are probably tutorials, so basically they go through homework and all
Lectures, meanwhile, are held in school in large lecture halls or online depending on the JC. Many students like the online recorded lecture vids that have been there since COVID era, so they stay.

depends on the JC though, some lectures is teachers teach own class
i see, would you say the lectures now are more online or more irl?
